It had been nearly ten years, and I still carry and use my hammershot in nerf events. Even with the newer half length pistols like the fire rat amd dart zone pro, this still beats them in terms of reliability and simplicity, along with the fact that the dart posts can be removed for it to fire both full and half length darts. I find it much better than most modern sidearms, and nobody can force me to switch.
actually it's a skeletal "hood" that attaches to the back of the house and is lined with a fine mesh. You see this a lot in the southern United States, even on smaller/moderate sized houses.
Very late to the party, but I'm surprised that your conclusion made no mention of the huge advantage granted by the hammer system - one handed firing. Unless I missed it? Not even for the pleasure of using two of the guns at once, but being able to follow up without bringing my off-hand into play while running, crawling or balancing is immensely useful when running around being a fool with friends =)
"I personally wouldnt use this in a nerf war..." , and yet its the most popular sidearm. Also, the old ones had white internals, the new ones have black internals and dont come with stencils, or the creepy smile on the back of the box.
Mod this blaster with a BlasterWorks mod kit (metal trigger, extended metal hammer, 10kg spring) and it's really nice. The metal hammer is easier to reach and cock one-handed, and if you go two-handed, you can hold down the trigger and produce a "slam-fire" rapidshot effect by hammer firing. The spring is also stronger and crisper. With EKind waffle darts, it's remarkably accurate and I love having it at the office.
Lol Get some straps, Get a Dark Krimson, some nerf darts on your chest, Get a cowboy hat and a gun holster, Boi your ready for a standoff in The wild west.
The Hammershot looks awesome and I like the hammer firing mechanism. The fake wood and bandage wrapped handle doesn't look terrible, it looks badass. This is the best nerf pistol so far. I'm gonna buy 2 since they can be dual wielded. :)
I just ordered one (used), because I see it as a perfect sidearm, since I can quickly prime it and shoot with one hand, in case my primary blaster needs reloading or jams.
Nathan Beck here in Venezuela nerf guns are ilegal but they still sell them at stores and me and my friends still have nerf blasters jaja xD (I hate venezuelan laws)
Nathan Beck I know, it makes it necessary to mod the blaster a lot. Already removed AR and stiffened the spring and it's still not getting American performance. Translation: I HATE AUSTRALIAN LAWS.
i like how you brought up the cosplay possibility just do to the fact when i first saw the design before launch, thats exactly why i fell in love with it....its perfect for cosplay especially steampunk
yours came with instructions and stencils? weird, i bought one the same day im typing this and only thing mine came with was the blaster and the darts. not a complaint or anything like "i really wanted those stencils" but i just thought that was kind of weird. (not like a blaster this simple really needed instructions but still)
I have one of these and love it. The bar at the bottom makes it so you can rest it on something or hold it there without affecting the revolver aspect. (It also needs it for rotating)
I struggle to dual these, it sometimes skips a dart and doesn't always lock into place. The spring is so heavy and it feels clunky I wish the hammer was less painful to pull...
This thing is great. Last year for Christmas, when I had just gotten into Nerf (like a week before that Thanksgiving), I opened this up and was kinda disappointed because I didn't want no wimpy pistol. Then I actually started screwing around with it. Now I just think it's funny how my judgement for Nerf guns was that if it wasn't big and ridiculous, it wasn't worth getting. I still love the giant, heavy-style guns though. I'm trying to get a Mega Mastodon for Christmas!
when u were shooting some of the bullets i noticed that some of the bullets moved left and didn't go as far whats up was ther a breeze through the room. Please reply
Elite darts have little holes in in the side of the tip to comply with safety laws so that they don't hit too hard. Because of this though, when they fly they get lopsided and veer off course cause air passes through that hole and blows them around.
It's a flaw in the darts. There wasn't any breeze indoors ,_, the darts have only one hole in one side so it's not accurate at all, it usually curves to one side. Suction darts or koosh darts would be a slightly better type of dart because they are symmetrical on all sides so they are a bit more accurate. However, koosh darts are really cheap Chinese darts and the diameter of the foam can change so some air might leak out if you're using a spring gun.
This may be too late, but I would recommend a hammershot, not only because I like it, but it is pretty unique, $15, a single action revolver, cool looking, very great paint job, n strike rail, all of that for the sacrifice of one less dart.
Can it be "Slam Fired"? Which, is obviously not so much slam firing as fanning the hammer. I can't imagine it'd be easy simply because the hammer spur isn't that prominent and the spring weight won't really allow it well.
Try sticking your pinky finger in the bottom sling mount. makes it easier when cocking with 1 hand. also use micro, dart tag or suction cup darts w/ it for better range and accuracy
He's NOWHERE near as exciting as Aaron Esser, he's a little shy sounding and not youtuber type. Still like the review and helps me pick out good blasters
A lot of times when I pull back on the hammer, I hear and feel this kind of popping...like somethings wrong with the plunger. Also, the hammer takes a solid 5-6 seconds to get fully back into place, and I can hear what sounds like air escaping-my Sweet Revenge/Wildshot/HammershotWithAVagina has it's hammer go back instantly. Is this a problem? If so, does anyone have any advice for fixing it? Thank you!
This is the air restrictor, which is a piece of rubber held in place by a weak spring, and is normal. Ignore the other poster, nothing is wrong with your gun. If you remove the air restrictor, all of the "problems" you describe will go away, but dry firing will damage the gun without an air restrictor.
I actualy took off the front bit and it fires nicely and is easy to reload the cylinder is slightly wobbly but it does not effect performance in anyway
I really don't like the cylinder rotating on the prime. With the strong arm, it would rotate on the trigger pull so now, occasionally when I have nerf wars, eventually my hammer shot only ends up with 4 darts and when I'm putting them in, I have the dart at the top and after pulling the hammer, it ends up going to the next dart so later, I end up missing a shot and then after that it allows me to shoot one more.
I bought the gun yesterday and had a nerf war with my friends. Their guns are older than mine but they were rifles. This pistol out shot the rifles in terms of the distance. It was a very high range for a pistol and i would give it an 8/10. The reason it loses points is the capacity and the pulling back of the hammer. Its really annoying when someone has a battery powered rifle and you have to cock this one every shot. I have gotten used to pulling back the hammer and i would recommend this to anyone who has the strength. It also looks very nice :3
Me: sees that coop likes hammershot Also me: Goes to hammer shot review to know his original opinion. "I would not use this in a nerf war [...] odd [...] wierd" Me: WHAT Me after a few seconds: So you have chosen death.
I can't wait till you mod this one, even if its just one of your sick paint jobs and AR removal jobs, might even buy it if you intend to sell it after :)
The new coop thinks more highly of the hammer shot now. Now even comparing it to the strong arm and the hammer shot ended up winning because one handed uses. lol
