REVIEW: Nikon 60mm f/2.8 "Micro" (Macro) D Lens - a FANTASTIC Value 

I use this lens all the time on my Nikon D7100! I am constantly amazed how versatile this lens is! Love the last bit of your video, my sentiments exactly, 😊

I have this same lens and its great on my D7000 and my D800. It is truly a swiss army knife of lenses! I actually sold a nikon 105mm 2.8 micro and got this one and am just as pleased with cash in my pocket! Love the new channel and love the travel one as well I am the new owner of a teardrop trailer not quite the Airstream but we love it and your channel.

This is also the most important lens for underwater photography. It's a perfect focal length for fish portraits.

Compared this to the Voigtlander 58mm 1.4 and preferred this Nikon lens and looked shaper. Used on D850, D800's and D3 depending on subject. Beautiful lens, we purchased mint copy off Ebay for £179, only buy mint with box as it reflect previous user took care of his kit. Must have in the camera bag, an excellent lens!

I got one used and put it on my Z6, works great!

It's companion, the 105 Micro Nikkor 1:2.8 D is a very useful tool under water offering 1:1 capture at slightly longer targets. I always have one or the other of these fine lenses in my bag.

That little dog was so tiny, I can see why it was necessary to shoot it with a macro lens. ps. I have this lens and love it - I use it for high detail portraits on D810 & D3x. I previously had the G (AF-S) version and I prefer this AF-D version. PPS I used to own a D7100 and believe it is a very under-rated camera. For the used price these days, you are getting a real bargain - both lens & camera.

i still got mine from before the digital age and use it on a Nikon d 7000,, wonderful combo.

It's AF séries, not AF-S, with motor inside, The D version on old AF version, IS the indication, of Distance, for the flash ! The AF VERSION IS EQUAL!! ^^

I used to have this lens. It's awesome! I sold it because of the really short working distance at high reproduction ratios. Now I use the old Nikon 75-150mm Series E with the Nikon 4t closeup lens. See the video of it on my channel.

Getting this lens for my Z6 (FTZ) but I can’t anyone to confirm that this takes full advantage of the Full Frame digital chip esp for Video! I also have a DSLR D7100 that can shoot (uncompressed) 4K video but it would better fit in my workflow if I could use this with my Z6 - now using HDMI to record ProRes RAW onto my Ninja V recorder - but I’m not sure about those “cropped” issues with legacy Nikkor lenses???

The beat in my opinion is Venus Laowa 60mm 2.8 2:1 macro lens

dxomark score of g version is *very average*, and afd is *excellent*, on par with tokina 100 f2.8... tokina 35mm f2.8 dx is a nifty one too, works just fine for macro on fx too

I've gotten by thus far using a reversal ring adapter. I also like to play with a microscope adapter. One day I'll come clean and get a proper macro lens.

Hello Shawn, i got this lens from Ebay in mint condition. Just the aperture ring have has a "poor" click, when setting an aperture,...unlike my other Nikkors. Is this normal?

I have a question, so the 60 mm is a whole lot better than a 40 mm for macro?, or there isn't a great difference, because the price difference is important and i don't know what to choose

After doing research, looking at the 60mm forslide transfer and macro and regular 60mm photos instead of the 40 mm. Question is with the 60 mm nikon is there a difference for slide transfer with the AF Micro-Nikkor 60mm f/2.8D vs the AF-S Micro NIKKOR 60mm F2.8G ED? or only difference is the aperture setting ring ? using on the d500. new to Nikon here. Loving an AF Micro Nikkor 55 f/2.8 (yes AF version) used general pics on a D7500 for very sharp and a D750. for some bokeh. How different is this from the 60mm? I would condsider addind a Tamron 90, in ealy 2018 not the this Nikkor 60. thanks,

Is this lens and the 105m of the same category similar in terms of macro? I mean, if I have a 105 MM AF, then there is no need to buy a 60MM micro? Is the macro function here the same, working from the same distance?

I have this lens on my d3300 but will only work if the aperture is set at f/32 have tried other f/stops but will not work just reads lock onto min f/stop.

I don't understand this lens. First, when it comes to micro, the longer the better, so if you're into micro at all, you're going to want to get at LEAST a 100mm micro lens for the task. Secondly, who doesn't already have a 50mm since they're so affordable? Those into portrait will get at least an 85mm prime, so where does this leave this lens? You'll have a lens that CAN do a little of this and a little of that, but not a lens that can do any of it as good as a lens devoted to what you're into. This is why I don't understand this lens.
