Cheers Paul. that was very enlightening. I didn't know about the stigma with this book. I like David he is such a knowledgeable player. I am going to get this book eventually. even more so now.
GOOD DAY PAUL I LIKE YOUR ATTITUDE TOWARDS THE CHROMATIC HARMONICA BOOKS , I ALSO LIKE THAT YOU DONOT FOLLOW THE SHEEP MENTALITY , HAPPY PLAYING THERE IS SOME VALUE IN THINGS WE READ AND EXERCISE THE MiND . Cheers
Hi! I have no problem with the contents of the book, but for a book that expensive the binding is poor and disappointing. When the book arrived new the spine was already warped in a pronounced bow shape even before I opened it! Thereafter, even minimal, careful use caused the bow to deepen further and cracks to appear on the spine.
Hi - Thanks for this video, I have listened to your videos and emailed you in the past and thank you for your assistance. I did find it interesting re issues about David and this book. I had emailed David previously and found his replies to be quite rude and arrogant. So when you spoke on issues about David and this book, I did some research and was not surprised when I found out what David did to Brendan in connection with the book and I can understand why Brendan feels the way he does towards David, in fact it has turned me off getting the book. Again thank you for your assistance and keep up the great videos
Hey there Hanz, thanks for the kind words man. I definitely have feelings of my own about how things are handled and also about some of what you said. I almost didn't post this because of it. In fact, I sat on it for a long time, but I just felt like the book itself had merit. I appreciate the comments and insight my friend.
I don't even play Chromatic, but I was curious, so I've had the book since it came out.I read it over and over as it has lots of valuable excercises and other content that I felt could also apply to diatonic players. This book is a keeper, might even try Chrom some day.Excellent honest review.
Thanks for the review, for Chromatic Harmonicas there are not a lot of resources online, I just got my first Chromatic (Swan 1664) thanks to Masters of Harmonica channel review (before customization) as my first, and this book will be my second, thanks for the review! Subscribed
Not sure if the last part of your comment was serious or in jest, but I can tell you the harmonica world is definitely not short of drama or controversy. This is one of the reasons I stay off forums and don't generally go to functions. I have very little patience for it. This is supposed to be fun after-all. In short, there were some issues between the author and contributors but I am not going to go into that. Lots of opinions flying around and some very mean spirited posts by a lot of people who didn't have all the facts. On these things, I stay out..I am only interested in the instrument and people who want to enjoy it and be decent and contribute to it's advancement. I hope this clarifies that at least a little.
