Today in the guide we will look at a rare novelty that belongs to the Czechoslovak research tree. This nation currently has only one active branch and may not receive more new ones. Until recently, it didn’t even have its own Tier 8 premium tank, but now it has appeared, and it’s a Tier 8 Premium ST Škoda T 27.
The tank weighing 40 tons is equipped with a 900 hp engine, which allows it to reach a maximum speed of up to 50 km/h. The chassis traverse speed of 45.89 °/s makes it possible to “spin” heavy enemy tanks, but you need to be careful on soft soils, because there the vehicle has mediocre maneuverability. The tank received an excellent basic overview of 380 meters, which, depending on the situation, will effectively highlight enemy positions.
The first thing you need to know about the armament of the Škoda T 27 is that the tank is equipped with an automatic loader with 3 shells in the magazine. The reload time between shots is 1.8 seconds, and the full reload time is 23 seconds. Thus, the tank ideally supports the game concept of the tops of the Czechoslovakian branch.
The Škoda T 27 received a good safety margin of 1350 units. The tank does not stand out with its armor, but being at the top of the list, you can sometimes count on an accidental ricochet from the gun mantlet, which is protected by an 80 mm screen. Otherwise, the VLD armor was 65 mm, 40 mm on the hull sides. The cast turret looks more protected: 100 mm each in the frontal and side projections. But the top of the tower is very vulnerable, so it’s better not to try to tank through it again.
While the level 8 upgraded TVP VTU Koncept, unlike the premium tank, received a cyclic shell loading system.
One-time damage of 240 units is quite normal for a level 8 ST with a drum. Armor penetration with a basic 202 mm projectile, which is not the worst indicator among its “classmates”, but it cannot be called good either. The gun's accuracy is quite good - 0.36 and an acceptable aiming time of 2.11 allows the tank to produce an average damage per minute of about 1624 units. Quite acceptable vertical guidance angles of -8...+20° will help with the implementation of damage.
Before us is a rather interesting tank with a very familiar German cannon! Its main feature is the 3-shell drum. Unlike the pumpable TVP VTU Concept. And it immediately tells us that the tank will at least be better than the one being pumped up. Similar features with levels 9 and 10 hint at the type of gameplay that awaits us on this premium tank.
The HP reserve is large enough for a level 8 medium tank, which will compensate for its large size and lack of armor. Armor penetration cannot boast of anything outstanding, especially for a premium projectile. However, the drum reload time and mixing time are good. The accuracy is not the best. UVN -8 degrees and maximum speed will help us implement this tank.
The review is also not an outstanding indicator, but it will not be difficult to pump it up to the maximum values.
Advantages and disadvantages of the Škoda T 27
As can be seen from everything written above, the Škoda T 27 WoT has much more strengths than weaknesses, however, there are still disadvantages, and now we will sort everything out.
