A rather short short review of SW-Motech micro pro tank bag. Even though its specificated for V85TT, yet it requires some modifications to fit. BUT its a perfect bag ;)
I have come to the conclusion that the V85TT is not well suited to tank bags! (or manufacturers are struggling to make their existing systems fit properly!) I am considering this one as a replacement for my SHAD - these look like they are much nicer to fit/remove. It's a shame they STILL interfere with the bars though. I am hoping the next size up bag from this one will still be ok. Fingers crossed.
I tried givi st611. Tank ring has the same logic. What I don't like is that when I try to open the tankbag while I'm on the bike, say when I want to pay toll with my credit card, I have to open the tankbag which is way too close to me. It doesn't bother me when I'm riding but it is bothersome when I need to open the tankbag while I'm still on the bike
I like your video as I am considering this tank bag. I currently use a SW motech bag and tankring on my Yamaha. The design by SW motech recuires for most bikes taking of the tankbag when filling up the tank. therefore I recomend you move the tankbag more forward. I think it wil make not much difference for the steering issue and it wil probably look better on the bike too.
I was playing with moving it up a bit before, but it just interfares too much with everything then. And it takes few cm's out from steering too. V85 is not an easy bike for tank bag placement :)
The Kappa version is quite the same as yours but in the instructions is reported that you have to mount some supports underneath the tank itself. Is that true?
Maybe the bracket? I did put some under the bracket, but outside that - i havent heard anyone doing anything more with that :) They do all rattle in general when not loaded, but that is fixed when going on a trip :)
I don't understand your problem, there are still much larger tank boxes, so the remarks you make would be even more obvious. In addition, most tank box assemblies are on the tank cap and not offset like on the V.85
