I drive a 2004 KL Verada AWD in similar condition to this one. I absolutely love it. After having many commodores of the same era, this is undoubtedly a better built vehicle. It still drives like new and I’ll never sell it 😊

Hi jimmyhsv, I do agree with you with build quality i think mitsubishi did an amazing job when building it and this verada was mine but I have since sold it but I really enjoyed driving it and it never missed a beat. How is the fuel economy with the AWD?
@agautomotive
@agautomotive Год назад
jimmyhsv, Ok good to know. I think I was getting around the 12-14 litres around town as well. They are a beautiful machine and made very well to last as I still see a few getting around. Thanks I really enjoyed mine and I would have another one.
@jimmyhsv7791

Hi AG. The fuel economy is a bit on the high side, I won’t lie. Around town I’m sitting around 13-14L/100km. On an open road trip I get around 9-10L/100km. The car is meticulously maintained however so that may keep the figures reasonably low. It’s not unheard of for some AWD’s to be up around 15-16 urban and 11-12 freeway. Depends a lot on the vehicle and driving style. Overall though, I love it to pieces and it still brings a smile to my face every time I drive it. Yours looked absolutely beautiful :) Wonderful old cars :) The only thing is the rocker cover gaskets, the heater core and the wave spring in the auto tend to be weak points. Did yours hold up ok? I had the wave spring changed out for the later solid ring recently so fingers crossed it goes the distance:)
@agautomotive
@agautomotive Год назад
@@jimmyhsv7791 yes my rocker covers were put on too tight and they leaked but I had them fixed and the heater core and wave spring I hadn't had them done as yet but maybe it was done previously but I am not sure. But it drove so smoothly and effortlessly. One thing on mine that happened but went away was the Traction control light and engine lights would come up here and there and then go away so I didn't worry about it. I did look it up and it said I would have needed a couple of new solenoids.

Adcock Park aye. I been driving Mitsu's for decades. Reliability has been first class and everything that you touch feels quality. Unlike some manufacturers where everything that you touch feels like it's going to fall off in your hand

Hi Geoff, Thanks for watching I do appreciate it a lot Yes Adcock Park. I Do some of the videoing there. Nice place to go. Mitsubishi's are great cars and have always been and also very popular and Reliable and yes I do agree with you saying Mitsubishi's are well built and don't fall apart as easy as others do.

I had one of those. In New Zealand for some reason it was called the Diamante vrx. It was a good car. Then I had the diamante ralliart in cherry red. They were great cars. Really under rated.

Hi Joe Dennehy, That's interesting how they rename cars in different countries and places. Yes they are very under rated. I was chuffed with mine but had to sell but I am keen on another one in the future. Very well presented car and good value for money and powerful as well.

Hi Leigh, Thanks for watching I do appreciate it and it's help myself and the channel so thankyou. Yes I was very fond of this car when I owned it and loved driving it and it was so smooth. Even through it wasn't an AWD it still handled all the corners and yes I do agree the driving lights/headlight were a cool design and I think much better than the Ford and holdens back in the day. I do miss this one. Thanks again.

The center armrest had a place for a tissue box om the underside. The front cup holders are designed to take square milk cartoms as well as cups. One of the best thought out interiors ever put in a car.
@agautomotive
@agautomotive Месяц назад
Hi Peter, Thanks for watching I do appreciate it and yes it is a great layout for sure. I didn't know the cup holders were designed to take milk cartons. Mitsubishi knew what they were doing and I think they nailed it. Thanks again for watching.

I had one of them and still rate it as one of the best cars I have ever owned. Very well finished, impeccable handling and comfortable along with a spacious boot. It might have had not the room of a Falcon, but it ran rings around the noisy rough and badly built Commodore. More reliable than both of those as well.
@agautomotive
@agautomotive Год назад
Hi area51isreal, Thanks for watching I do appreciate it. Yes definitely I agree with you. They are an amazing car and great value and I think they out perform the falcon and commodore with build quality and they still give it a run performance wise but I do wish they were rwd instead of Fwd. Thanks again for watching.

As a Mitsubishi nut I have owned 28 Mitsubishi cars. I had the 2003 TL magna in the same colour. I Loved That Car. It was a hard choice to sell it but I got offered a good amount for it and invested in a 2015 Lancer Sport. I love it also but often wish I still had the Magna. I can honestly say with all my Mitsubishi cars of which some travelled well over 400,000ks I never had a issue.

Hi stephanburgess654, Thankyou for watching i do appreciate it and it helps the channel. I was in the same boat I got offered a good amount but wasn't keen on selling and I loved this one. It was so smooth and handled well top. Nice the Lancer's are a great little car and yes the Magna's will be missed that's for sure. Wow over 400,000 kms that's awesome nice work. Thanks again 👍
@brantleyfoster021
@brantleyfoster021 Год назад
Most of the Magna's were much better than what they were made out to be. I think the problem came up because they didn't have a model in the V8 Supercars. But if you look at the Supercharged AWD model Magna/Verada, it was a clear winner across the board. There was nothing else like it at the time in this class for the money.
@brantleyfoster021
@brantleyfoster021 Год назад
But even if you look at the FWD model's like the TJ series VRX or Ralliart model. The VRX was clearly faster than alot of V8s offered at the time & had much better fuel economy. The Ralliart Magna took first place at the Australian Motorkhana on launch too.
@agautomotive
@agautomotive Год назад
Hi BrantleyFoster021, Yes I do agree. I also think the build quality was up there if not better than the Commodores and falcons.

@@agautomotive Yes whether it was the frameless window's on the doors, the shape that gave it the aerodynamic co-efficiency of 0.28 (best in the class & probably still is) or the wild bodykit's. It was very cleverly designed. People miss that, some aerodynamic shape's are not always nice to look at but Mitsubishi did a great job with the TJ series VRX & the Ralliart look I thought. All that sharp styling served a purpose.
@brantleyfoster021
@brantleyfoster021 Год назад
@@agautomotive The TL, TW & Verada model's that sported this new shape never received a bodykit like the TJ series. I wonder if it would've improved if they had.

Hi dean r, Thankyou for that I do appreciate it. Yes it was maintained to a very high standard before I got it as the second owner and I did the same and kept it in pristine condition. @@agautomotive My Ei only had 98,000 k's on it when I bought 6 years ago for $2,200 had a couple of dents as the old guy that owned it before drove by touch I think. Paint was great when I bought it but going off now plus I hit a kangaroo in it a few years ago, still goes and drives well, has 216,000 now. I changed the ATF just after I bought it and a bit of wave spring was stuck to the sump plug, had it repaired at a cost of $1800, still changed gears well, I had a fellow change the shift pattern so it goes into second much sooner when taking off when giving it a bit. Just bugs me how it goes back to first without stopping, does yours do that? Cheers

@agautomotive Год назад
@@Djr67 nice it I'd always good to get them low and in good condition. I got mine with 126,000km and the only things I did was get the roof lining fixed and a exterior trim piece had fallen off but otherwise nothing else to spend. The rocker cover got done just before I got the car. I had owned the car for just over a year and i loved it. I would have another one. It was comfortable, sounded great and had plenty of power. Have always wanted to own one. Would love to have an AWD some day. Certainly a car we as Australians should have bought more of. Though it only means now these days they're far more appreciated, more so to the right person in the right condition.
