Nice one, stunning pictures! Recently traded my flagship fullformat mirrorless camera and 500/4 lens for the om-1 mk2 & 300mm f/4. Had it for a week now. First impression is great. Enjoying the smaler size and lighter gear for sure.

Well done and great images. I have had the 150-400 for almost a year now. Still in sticker shock, but no regrets. It is one amazing lens. I am a built person and I can carry it with the OM-1 II easily. I use a monopod when I am stationary and waiting for action, otherwise I walk around without issues. Have used the MC-14 in the past and still great images. Just got the MC-20 and still very impressed with the quality. Having a zoom lens is much more versatile and the close focus distance works great for certain subject. I personally would not trade my setup for a full frame setup. I hear a fair bit of hate and such for the lens. Funny when people are shown an image and very impressed with the image. Then their face changes when they are told that it was taken with m4/3 system and/or the 150-400mm lens. Which lens covering is on the lens?

@@JohnDoe1999-lg7mh thank you! Yes, an absolutt stellar lens :) I find it fun to use with teleconverters, but sharpness does take a hit. I do agree, m43 does get hate only due to their sensor size, which I find unfortunate... cause they do produce excellent gear! Link to camo is in the description.

@@TJPhotography Thanks. Not sure how I missed the links. Maybe, I thought they were for clothing camo.

Gorgeous images and video. I am using this lens for almost 2 years and really love it. Hopefully OM System will eventually make a much better camera (unfortunately the OM-1 Mark 2 is not the one with only marginal improvements) to match the video features of G9 Mark 2 and autofocus of recent Canon, Sony and Nikon cameras.

Great video! I like that you showed plenty of actual content for me to judge on my own. How in the world did you get the heron eating the fish with no motion blur at 1/640th? ...might be a species thing, i had to use 1/1250 on a snowy egret doing the same

Thank you! I think its luck that the fish is sharp, and that the angle helps out, seeing the birds head is angled a little away from me to the side.

@@TJPhotography it is an interesting angle as well. Very well done! Still mind-blowingly sharp given the circumstance

Did you sell your R5 and full frame lenses? Or are you running both systems? Stunning pictures btw 😊

what beautiful images. What post-processing did you do? Because the photos don't come out of the camera that way. anyway, they are beautiful, video footage and photos. my compliments for that.👍👏

So Norway... I've stopped watching this video part-way through. Why? Because I'm going to wait for my girl to finish work so we can what it together. She's not a photographer, but she's going to love that 'review' segment early on (we both have great taste☺). Other than that - Lkd & Subd and looking forward to rummaging through your content. All the best from a cabin in a swamp in a rainforest in New Zealand.

I bought this lens a few month ago and like it a lot. I only find the sun hood too big and complicated to put on with that screw mechanism.

The results are amazing! I have the OM1II. It has better autofocus but the difference isn`t huge. P.S.: Wich is better, full format and cropping or mft without cropping?
@TJPhotography
@TJPhotography 5 месяцев назад
I'm not an expert on the technical details, but if you have an FF camera with around 60mp sensor, and crop that 2x, you will get a similar comparison to the sensor in OM-1. But the OM-1 also has a stacked sensor. I think the most important thing, is that you have a camera that you enjoy using :)

@@TJPhotography Fun is also why I switched from FF to mft. What good is the best camera if you don`t have it with you?

In theory it should be 40MP? Stacked just means faster readout speed for rolling shutter and faster autofocus :)@TJPhotography

Don’t stress yourself I own one it’s not all it’s cracked up to be. At 400 mm wide open images are very soft. You have to change your photography styleto accommodate it. Can you say hand on heart images he showcased on this video above average.

I hate to say it...but a 300mm/4.5 is considered very slow. And since m4/3 CAN NOT make 1/1 camera (many called it "full frame") & then why new owner just doesn't say 300-800/4.5? All m4/3 companies need to stop scamming buyers with small number (1/2#) when it is really double that #.

They dont say it's 300-800 beacause it's not. The "mm" number is a physical element of the lens, not the field of view. Its the distance from the sensor to the centre of the focal point. To say it's a 300-800 would be lying, its 150-400 on a camera with a tighter crop than a comparable full frame. Full frame isn't 1/1, it is not the standard that all photography formats are based off, its only other name is a 35mm and its actually a small format for photography, with medium format 6x7 or 6x9 being much bigger and large format leagues beyond that. If you're using a medium format system as many pros were back in the 90s, the 35mm or "full frame" was the crop camera... If you can't work out the conversion for the lenses you use on your chosen system, thats on you, not on the lens manufacturer.
@thomasreed49
@thomasreed49 2 месяца назад
They are allowing for the crop factor that you get with full frame no such luxury with micro 4/3 so they name it right. 👍
