Review: Orange Amps Crush CR60C combo 

all the negative comments on here are appalling to me. yes his guitar is out of tune. but he's a great player. some of you on here is the reason why people don't like to play in front of people because someone's talent level isn't what yours may be.

I really wanted one of these amps, but was unsure which one to get. This video has helped me decide on the 60w. Thoughtful, useful and the best review I’ve seen covering these. Subscribed!

I'm telling you, the old Crush amps were killer little boxes. I can only imagine that these are an improvement upon the old models. I'm usually a tube amp only guy, but I'll make an exception for these.

I have the Orange Crush 20 and honestly it is he best practice amp I have ever owned. Just love it.

Extremely helpful review. I'm looking for a budget amp that could work at gigs, and this is a top contender.

This amp sounds so good, I'm really impressed.

I liked the review he basically showed me some more options with the settings. I've owned a th30 a rocker 30 and a tiny terror combo , This amp is built the same as the 3 of them it turns on and you get the sound straight away the clean channel on this amp is better than the rocker and the th30 which both have no reverb , tiny terror doesn't really do clean , on an overall I place this amp under a th30 better than the rocker 30 very similar and on par with the tiny terror for sound but you get 2 channels full eq on both 3 reverbs and master volume , for £359 which I paid for this amp I love it I really think once you mess around with settings you can get so much from this its build is phenomenal weight solid speaker is great and you can play it at home studio and live it's more versatile than all of them put together volume wise and punch it's above the tiny terror and sits round the rocker 30 and th30 , but it does punch well but not quite like the th30 love it

I'm kind of dumbfounded by the summary at the end. I'm still not exactly sure what it all meant. Especially the whole thing about a con being that if you turn it on, and you don't like how it sounds, you have to tweak knobs you just can't wait for it to sound better after being on for awhile. I currently only use tube amps, and I have never not liked the sound than just stared at it for an hour and tried again hoping it will sound better. I adjust it. If Sonicstate wants to have their "Amped" side taken seriously, they need to either get some good feedback and improvement cycles going with this guy or they need someone else.

Wayne Towers, sorry for such a late reply! You could get away with the 120w version at a 'not annoying the neighbours' volume. I found that this thing did react like a valve amp - by that I mean, the louder it went the better it sounded (although that could just be because I'm a guitarist and therefore louder = better). The only thing I would point out is the 120w 2x12 is bloody heavy. This 60w should do most gigs and it can always be mic'd should it need to be. Hope this helped, even if it was a month late!

I was thinking of buying a Micro Terror w/ Marshall MG412, but then I stumbled across this on Guitar Center's website. I might buy this instead! Also, I hate it when people always complain about amps not being tube amps. It's ANNOYING! *Cough-this guy-cough*

Excellent review! I think this amp sounds great; I think the gain sounds wonderful and it seems like there is a whole lot of room to work with the settings. My only question is whether or not Orange has a footswitch for channel selection specifically for this model. If it does then I am DEFINITELY getting this amp!

I own a rockerverb 50 and I have a cr60pro. The best thing I did with the cr60 was putting a terror stamp in front of it, literally changed the entire tone of the amp.

Great to see you still reply to an older video Rob, I wanted to ask and hopefully you see this, I'm thinking about getting either the cr60/120c or a line 6 spider iv, I like everything from blues to hard-rock and metal, which would you recommend for lower volume high gain, I like bands like pantera/slayer/machine head/BLS I'm not looking to sound just like them but just a reference point for sounds I like.

I love the way that amp sounds....then your guitar is out of tune...crushed my experience!

I don’t understand why he needs treble full on with a telecaster? The Telecaster has to be the brightest guitar there is.

Hi Rob, cool review! I'm after the 120 watt version of this Amp, the CR120C, and Orange say it's suitable for living room use to Medium Gigs which is what I'd need it for, even more. But, would the CR120C really be suitable for living room use, would it be capable at normal/low TV volumes for a 120 watt Amp? Cheers!

yeah, sad, cause he is demoing the clean channel more than other vids, but that is the 4th string if I'm not mistaken. that is a problem string for most guitarists, including myself. how he doesn't hear it is off especially when strumming clean notes, is beyond me

Ive found can get thst crunchy toasty tone on dirty channel with gain at 1 oclock on the 35rt so Im expecting to be similiar

Hi Rob, excellent review. I was considering the CR120 head but since it must be paired with a 2x12'', it's not gonna be easy to carry to gigs... I used to have a tube amp (mesa lonestar special 1x12'') but am now looking for something more lightweight and reliable. Compared to a dual terror + 1x12'' cab, would you still recommend that combo for gigs?

Thats what i think too but I question myself in all these Reviews of new amps -are the speakers "well played- & broken in" thoroughly ? If not ,the sound will improve drastically after a period of time ( especially the Gain will sound alot smoother ) , thats what i allways experienced with New amps .

The tuning thing is totally my bad, it was about 3am when we got around to filming this (we'd shot a few others that night) and I think I was aware of it but at that point I just didn't care; it didn't effect the sound of the amp.

Is it possible to ad another 1X12 cab along with the CR60C, so that you're actually using the built-in speaker as well as another 1X12??

I've heard this amp sounds thin on the lead channel but it was a metal guy im more blues rock i wonder if like many amps it thins out the more gain you use

These days I constantly hear "FX loop" where amps are concerned and truthfully (forgive my ignorance) I have no idea what it means where effects pedals and amps are concerned. Can someone kindly tell me what one uses the FX loop for (and if this amp has one)?

yes ,nice cleans ,distortion , wouldt like to hear it with diffrent guitars ,best place to Judge still stay's the store another thing ,I love watching reviews of al kind of gear ,but why not let amplifiers be tested with some pedals

The logic of your statement was lost on me about it not changing after an hour and getting better. That is what is wrong with valve amps.

Decent cleans but that distortion sounded awful - almost Boss Metal Zone bad.

TUNE YOUR GUITAR!!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!! It's amazing. Makes an Amplifier sound much better and you actually look like you know what you're doing and how to do it!!

There's no EQ in the clean channel but there's BASS AND TREBLE CONTROLS... LMAO
