For whatever reason it just looks so much meaner then the previous GT3. Makes me want to blast through Eastern Europe with a Czech model on shady visas with hard drugs in the glovebox.

It's so refreshing to see a sports car with regular colored wheels for once

911 GT3 is probably the best all-round supercar right now.

Why can't we have more drivers like this for reviews. Seriously, this is grade A stuff, getting to listen to the engine really strain as it's pushed to redline is why we watch videos like this. Most other reviewers may take it all the way up once in a video. Here we are treated to constant aggression and savagery. Love it.

Releasing manual version later will probably prolong sales and by the time competition catches up they will hit with manual and "real" driving experience. Not to mention imagine if reviewers would make lap times with manuals?! Oh controversy.

I have never wanted a car more than I want a 991 GT3. The looks, the sound, the simplicity; I appreciate all cars, from Koenigsegg's all the way to Fiat 128 Spiders, but there's just something inexplicable about the GT3. If I could pick any car to someday carve up a canyon road, this would be my immediate go to without a doubt. (Obviously I would take it with a manual was that even a question to begin with?)

So after all the talk about bringing back the manual and Porsche finally relenting and accepting that need, everyone is testing the PDK! You'd think Porsche would have had one of each to test.

Watching this makes me realize why PDK was invented in the first place. Not sure if a manual even suits it, at this point, unlike the Cayman GT4 for example. I hope the manual sells, but I'm starting to have my doubts. If anything, people will buy manuals for collecting purposes.

This engine is the new mezger. It is a motor sport engine. I heard an interview with the designer and he said it is based on the engines used by the race cars I think.

Also Jethro, is 9,000rpm pretty much the limit Andreas Preuninger stated that these motors can go before reliability issues present? Or do you feel that they could eek them up a little more?

why didn't you guys use the configuration of the evo test track. That way we could compare the times, they have a shitload off cars tested.

This should 100% be called EVO LIVE and I LOVE it. It's beautiful to watch, compellingly narrated and the driving is ace. Cheers on yet another great piece. I have to say I can hardly wait to drive this car. Having spent quite a bit of time in the gt3 (991.1) and the rs , I think the PDK Box is the perfect choice. The cars are so quick and so sharp you want your hands on the wheel at all times. A pull on the paddle yields and instant reaction and still "feels" involving in that the change comes straight away. Anyways. Great work Jethro. You have my dream job :)

So, when the manual cars Will start arriving in late 2017, can I expect for 997.2 GT3 RS 3.8L cars to finally come down in price? Right now they are bringing somewhere between $150 and 180k in the US. I would buy one of those for $120k a heartbeat!!

I thought Porsche has lost their way with engines in recent times. The turbo Boxster/Cayman sound atrocious but with the GT3, they've really proved me wrong. The top end is unbelievable! Compared with everything else in its class and price range, this is in a different league!

991.2 GT3 and 458 Speciale over the 991.2 Turbo S and 488 GTB. I don't care if the second cars are faster, the first ones sound incredible and rev up to 9000 rpm.. nothing gets better than that!

Does any one know why the lap time is 1.34.96? In EVO LEADERBOARD the 991 GT3 RS does 1.13.6 is this a different circuit?

So it is basically a narrow body, slightly updated 991.1 GT3 RS with a little more mid-range tq and a few other tidbits. Too bad that as he admitted, perhaps the biggest difference is the proper 6MT gearbox, but it wasn't avail to test. Too bad

I'm usually not excited by cars of this caliber as they tend to trounce a bit too far into "supercar" "supertech" territory. But this looks absolutely thrilling. I wish I had the cabbage to pick one of these up! Fantastic review, can't wait for the next part. (And the manual box!!)

This is how a supercar review should be like! A man, in a car, with the engine raging in the background... No bullshit action movie music... no bullshit cinematics..... just man and car, ears bleeding, some specs and tears....

Damn, how can anyone not like this car... Awesome rear-engine proportions with that big spoiler, the most motorsport-y road car engine short of a 918, 6-speed manual, and daily drivability

and people thought the GT3 merely had an RS motor swap? No way this is a bigger deal. You get both the torque and more revs than that, and it's more durable. It is evolution. And that wing looks so good on the GT3 too. Purely awesome.

I bet the driver and back up team of the Lamborghini Huracan Performante could get this round The 'Ring in ... like ... sub 4 minutes. ... miracle workers that they are.

Wonder how this would compare head-to-head against a 997 GT3 RS 4.0... They must have at least a few similarities, I imagine

Drive tribe I love watching your videos but the color calibration from camera to camera is horrific. This video is a fine example. In one shot the GT3 is vibrant red. In another it's orange. In another it is oxidized red. Please please please calibrate your cameras.

I notice he didn't tell is what the turbo did in comparison, the turbo s have a reputation of beating the gt3s round the track

the best review of a bunch of them today. Maybe I'm just too bias with Jethros' review but his understanding about Porsche and the GT3 is just on point !

Very very disappointed in all the huge skids. Drifting (huge skids in the Japanese style) gets old very suddenly when there is little else to see and the car has so much more to offer. Surely the massive breadth of this car's abilities could have been shown with a skilled crew?. All these huge slides shows a lack of imagination and short sells the car and others like it.

This dude can drive a car... I remember when he reviewed and drifted the 800hp ferrari superfast on public roads... Brilliant mate. Keep it up!!!

Never liked the new 911s. But man, this one really grows on me, and the fact that you can get it with a manual gearbox as well, it's just perfect.

The new 991.2 GT3 is nearly identical as the current GT3RS. Can't wait to see what the new GT3RS is going to be like.

EVO magazine might as well say 'what will take 2nd place?' on the cover of their ECOTY issue this year.

I don't blame Porsche delaying the manual version because it will be significantly slower than the PDK version and not be representative of what the car can do.

How does the GT3 set a 1:34 when they tested a Cayman 718 around the same track (I thought, they called both "the international") and got a 1:30??

I would take the R from a styling perspective, but otherwise the new GT3 wins out.
