Kingsley Zissou have you seen what a membrane key looks like? scissor switch is a membrane with two plastic pieces that interlock in a "scissor"-like fashion
Lord Roy Am I the only person in earth who HATES mechanical keyboards for anything? I really like scissor switches for gaming and typing, when I press the keys I feel more like I am actually pressing the keys.
exactly just got a k70 off ebay for 70 cherry mx blue idk how people pay 250 for membrane i dont give a fuck if it comes with a fucking cup holder let alone a low res touch screen.
the touch screen is very nice great for gaming and wanting to listen to music and like he said alot of games have built things like you could use a second hand experience app on it while gaming
***** I had this keyboard, for a month and I tried to enjoy it but sold it and put my Corsair K70 back in service. It was marketed and designed for people not wanting to buy a "keyboard" but wanting piss-poor attachments that are unrelated to a keyboard and integrated to sub-par standard. I'm sure there are people who love this keyboard, but it will take something amazing for me to switch off the K70.
***** I understood, I was saying that the development that goes into the keyboard is relaxed a bit overall since they focus on putting more and more gadgets on it, like the touch screen. It works. Its smooth. Im sure people will love the hell out of it, but I couldn't see it's 100% potential since I always game with my phone and or tablet next to my laptop anyways. My Galaxy is far superior than the screen offered by the razer keyboard. And the keyboard didn't feel, or respond as how the k70 does. Razer makes a great keyboard, but I suppose the cherryMXblues are my favs for tactile feel which, the keyboard lacks.
But that doesn't make razers products good for gaming. I mean, who's gonna be looking at their keyboard when their playing? And who in their right mind would want a "laptop keyboard" for gaming instead of a good Cherry MX RGB one, with 60$ less?
I play garrys mod TTT and when im dead i watch youtube then when i come back i missed a whole round because i was on youtube with that it would let me see the game while watching youtube at the same time
to keep your gaming equipment clean wash your hands and dont let people use unless they wash there hands and never eat next to your computer and keep it in your own room
kevin russell Nothing beats youtube and wings. If people are worried so much about it, get one of those silicon keyboards you can take into the shower with you or on a hot date to a decidedly romantic swimming spot. Girls love efficient multitasking.
If u have two or more moniters, its kinda useless. But if u only have one, you could watch tutorial of a easter egg or how to get a certain gun or attachment or whatever, while playing the game.
***** A couple of reasons: Maybe you do not have enough space on your desk for another monitor, Maybe your GPU or PSU can not support more than 1 monitor, Maybe you just want a badass keyboard with a touchscreen monitor on it for bragging rights. Personally I have a lot of room I would just like it so when I am playing games in fullscreen I do not have to alt tab out of my game just to google something.
EchoTV Oblivion is 100 percent right. If you can afford to buy a fucking $200 plus keyboard every reason you gave is voided. Lmao and on top of that the keys are shit, not even mechanical what a terrible product. So unsatisfied with their products recently.
Cody Camp Explain how my reasons are void. They seem perfectly reasonable to me. Also it is a complete opinion that you do not like the keys. I personally do not care about mechanical or membrane keys.
If your looking for a great keyboard then look no further: corsair vengeance k70. This is a great keyboard And comes in different cherry MX switches. Also in 2 different finishes: brush metal black and brushed metal silver. It has led backlit.
Cookie I have a buddy who swears by his Blackwidow - in fact it was his raving that got me to check out mechanicals in the first place. Funny thing is, I lucked out on the switch type; I hadn't done much research, just took the low price on the model that looked like it had the features I wanted to pay for; so, red LED, cherry browns
To me the keyboard looks like complete shit, but the touch screen is pretty cool, altough it could be improved A LOT BETTER. But besides that great review pal keep it goin'. Also IT IS EXPENSIVE AF
I personally don't like when keyboards make the thing on the bottom(rubber place where you put your hand)too long, to me it looks ugly, but that is MY opinion.
To me the whole keyboard looks like shit, as I can instantly see it has scissor switches and a "low profile". That is just in no case a good keyboard to game on.
+Thatguywiththelaptop if ya mean a $80 moniter with 5ms response time and 60 hz refresh rate and a razer blackwidow 2016 ultimate? ohh hell nah $150 + $80 = $240 > $200
***** 'mechanical keyboards' use cherry mx switchers, that makes them mechanical. there's all kinds of cherry switches to suit you. just look up on youtube cherry mx switch guide and you'll know after watching that video everything that you need.
I dunno why razer products are so popular. Sure they make products that only target the pc gaming audience but quality wise it isn't all that good anymore, most people are just willing to spend extra cash for the brand. Kinda reminds me of apple fanboys, willing to spend so much extra for their apple logo when they could build the same hackintosh for half the price or less.
i still am baffled that keyboards don't have volume up/down buttons. The first thing i look for in a keyboard is vol, play/pause, fast foward/rewind. If as keyboard does not have that, i don't buy it. i use media keys just as much as i use the rest of the keyboard.
Like many other Razer keyboards, you have to use Fn (function key) and one of the F keys for media playback and volume control. If you were referring to this keyboard specifically.
Agree with you on the rubber covered thing. More than the dust gathering issue, the cover is affected by the polution level of the air itself and, over time, regardless the brand standard it goes into a "melting" state which is quite gruesome to the touch.
Steven Simmons To me, being overpriced is along the same lines as low quality. You can spend $5000 on a laptop that has the quality of an $1000 laptop; the fact it is overpriced means the quality is lower than it should be for the price.
As a person with giant hands I can say that the razer mice are the only ones I found that can actually be used, you just have to stick to the simpler ones, without all the stupid ass buttons.
***** I can't do that on my Alienware keyboard which has tons of micro keys. The key combination is Windows+Right Arrow+Enter. The key memory function doesn't work for the Windows Key. And someone shouldn't read the instructions for 2 hours to figure out how to configure a key when those idiots could have put it there in the first place. OR OR YOU'RE JUST MAKING EXCUSES FOR A STUPID DESIGN
笹原 幸治郎 先輩 chiclet keys with a crappy touch screen on the side that i will never use at all of a cheap price of $250... i'll pass, i love my k70 rgb and would never trade it in for chiclets
I have the blackwidow ultimate and it's awesome... but the screen stuff blown my mind! I feel that the Deathstalker key are laptop-like... are really that kind of keys?
Lukas Boeckx Mmmh... sounds curious, I thought Razer made only mechanical keyboards... At first I was a little skeptical, but as soon I tried it I was amused. Now I love the mechanical perfomance (and of course the keys sound!)
Nope, you have membrane and mechanical, membrane sits on a kind of rubber mat under the keys, mechanical keys come out of the board and are way higher, and you can really hear the clicking of the keys at mechanical.
Oh... I get it. Maybe I made a mistake while explaining it... I was trying to explain about the keys "itself". I really don't know the membrane "tip"... sorry for my bad English :( I mean, I was talking about the key, not the underlying technology. As far I know, there're mechanical keys (Black Widow) and membrane keys (standard keyboard). The first one have (in my experience) "boolean press", that's "pressed" or "unpressed", the second one can be "half pressed"... It's hard to explain, hehehe So, I thought all Razer keyboard KEYS are mechanical, despite the underlying technology (wich I can assume can be different for any keyboard). Again sorry if I misspelled something, and I wish my comments made yo mad... Greetings, DoHITB
I think you're referring to it as "actuation point" where they key is triggered depending at a certain depth of a key press (in millimeters). Mechanical keys featured different types of switches (each representing a color) which each has a specific actuation points and stiffness/softnes to cater different keyboard typing/usage situations. As for membrane types, the only actuation point is when you press the key fully down. It could be a problem with user who wanted rapid key presses without the need to press the key fully down. And that's where the chicklet keys (a.k.a. laptop keys) used for Razer Deathstalker comes in. BTW, the very first mechanical keyboard from Razer was the Blackwidow Ultimate, released back in 2010.
nice video well presented i like the idea of the widget screen very handy fort team speak 3 i have friends that don't have mics so reading the messages while gaming is cool
Lilly de Montreux Most keyboards use rubber membranes. Mechanical keyboards use springs, which end up lasting a lot longer and are more easily replaceable.
chris delgado sorry bro but I will have to disagree with you on that, there is another model tho called blackwiddow which is almost similar to the deathstalker but without the screen and with mechanical keeys
i think razer fucked this keyboard up. you can play no skill/no life call of dutys on it but thats it. its not mechanic, so easy to press the buttons etc. touch screen is just you know an "OMFG" feature. buy razer black widow guys. so much better.
IceCreamGaming - Gameplays on PC in HD You're saying BlackWidow 2013 edition is better gaming than this keyboard? im currently looking for a new one to buy, thats why im asking...
I loved everything about the keyboard, I mostly want to know about the widgets, and can different widgets be installed to it, like handmade widgets made by non-pro programers.
Ricky Smits "Will you shut the fuck up PLEASE???" Don't forget your manners! Not sure what your problem was with my comment though, the keyboard doesn't have mechanical keys, so doesn't really classify itself as an "ultimate" gaming keyboard. It's just a cheap membrane keyboard with an expensive gimmick tacked on to the side.
Doesn't need to be mechanical to be a good keyboard. In fact the Deathstalker Ultimate is superior to the Black Widow in almost every way. Not everyone needs that clicking noise. What is most important about any keyboard is ergonomics, and this keyboard is very, very comfortable (At least for me) and that's what counts.
G19 from Logitech is the best keyboard yet, although its been out for years now. It had LCD screen, game integration, so many spare buttons, volume and music controls different LED colors, not to mention different profiles for each game or users. most importantly, mechanical buttons :)
$250 for this keyboard. You must be out of your damn mind. It's not mechanical, all plastic, and overall low quality (look at the USB cables). Why the fuck would you want a trackpad when you have a mouse. Why use a screen on your keyboard when you can have a second monitor, or even multitask on a single monitor. The only time to use a trackpad, is on a laptop, when you can't use a mouse. Razer is gimmicky and cheap. The only razor product I have is a mouse pad. Yes, an $8 mouse pad. I wouldn't trust razed with any more money than that.
Petr Ševčík Pretty sure Mechanical keyboards make basically everything better from typing to gaming. The nice thing is too that you have a lot of choices from silent Mechanical keyboards to one's with the clicky sound.
Why don't you just do what I did... take out the windows key... Also it's not even fucking mechanical... if your gaming and typing a lot you MUUUUUST have mechanical...
***** To be the best keyboard it must be mechanical.... I don't use a mechanicdal either havent really got the money and dont need really but still. That's like someone advertising the "best car ever" and it not even have a window it or ac.
+Void of Space and Time yeah, cuz if you want to crouch or lie down in bf3 it's a lot faster to reach with your hand to the other side of the keyboard than to press ''x'' which is right under your thumb... sooooo useful
Then take it back and get another one, maybe yours is broken out of the box... don't give a shitty review because you don't consider that not everything isn't just perfect out of the box.
Joey Keller Thats exactly what I'm doing, and it should be perfect out of the box, I didn't pay 250 dollars for a jacked up keyboard, if it IS messed up out of the box, then thats an even bigger reason to give a shit review. Get what I'm saying?
i use that keyboard to game and i use that touchscreen as a mause sometimes btw it takes 2 slots 1 is for the touchscreen and 1 for the keyboard itself
yeaah those 12 yrs old kids want them for christmast present so people buy those actual disks.I think even LoL is more "sold"(downloaded) than this shit.
