Ryo is fucking sick and has become one of my favorite vocalists. And Crystal Lake performing live bring an insane amount of energy and deliver vocally. Ryo is legit.
Chase, your stank face is real here bud especially when Ryo came in. His low is crazy here. Looking forward to Crystal Lake reaction from you. Japan has so many metalcore bands that are underrated, like Graupel, Sailing Before the Wind, abstract, etc.
@@omegashinra7672 Recently noticed a LOT of people in the west talking about Japanese metal in all subgenres, which is really dope because their bands are fire.
Ryo also sings the "chanting" part in japanese. Spiritbox pointed it on one of their live streams. I didn't notice it the first couple of times I heard it
Ryo is one of the best metal vocalists in the world right now and Crystal Lake kick some serious fucking ass. Been into them since 2014 and they've done nothing but consistently blow my mind since.
You’re my favorite music reviewer! Much more than a reaction videos. You’ve been the only channel that actually knows what’s going on and explaining. It’s obvious that you’ve very much dabbled in all aspects all of musical arts. I’ve finally found a channel that explains music on the level and knowledge that other musicians can still learn. I thank you good sir.
@@ChaseCarneson I appreciate it but don't thank me! You analyze the entire production sequence and audio editing on the fly. I'm officially making your channel my first place to look for a reaction/analyze video. I dont want to only hear yelling and "oh that's AWESOME", I want data, breaking parts of the audio quality and production, etc. You good sir, bring it all. I first noticed your channel on Eskimo Callboy Hypa Hypa? Forgive me if my fails me. When that music video came out I loved it and it ended with such a positive, goofy, and very well put together music video that just generally made me feel better. So keep it up bc I'll be rooting for you! You've also introduced me to new bands. It's so difficult to find metal's subgenre Metalcore (if that's even it lol). Anyways, I'm babbling on. Keep it up and I'll be sure to be the close first to your new videos! 🤙 TravTheLegend
On the scale of 1 - 10 for both the song and the review, it's 11. Can't go wrong with Crystal Lake, they're coming up with a music video for Disobey soon.
Holy crap! So, this was amazing, and I had to go find more Crystal Lake...watched them at Resurrection Fest and was...BLOWN...AWAY. Chance, you've got some good music coming your way for sure. These guys are incredible! First time listen, but now a fan!
Halestorm: Freak Like Me Halestorm: Mz Hyde Halestorm: I Miss the Misery Halestorm: Beautiful with You Halestorm: Daughters of Darkness Halestorm: You Call Me a Bitch Like it's a Bad Thing
Reaction would be complete with Holy Roller t-shirt and a flower crown. The stank face game is strong at 7:57. Yes, please do Crystal Lake. Devilcry is a masterpiece- lyrics hit hard on that one. Also, the music video for Disobey is coming up very soon.
Where’s your Holy Roller merch? In the dryer? Yes to Crystal Lake’s reaction next. Aeon will definitely make you air guitar hard until all those imaginary strings snapped off.
Please go for the Mara effect live session by spiritbox, it's such an emotional rollercoaster and truly great musicianship. Gonna keep on requesting it bc you need to watch it lol
Check out "I am abominations" new album featuring Chris Turner (oceans ate Alaska) One of the most underrated bands of all time I feel like you would understand it and enjoy it. Or any I am abomination album/song
Chase always turns it up to 11 with his reactions - best on youtube. As someone who doesn't have a background in music, I really appreciate how you break it down in way that is understandable but also in-depth. True skill.
What you’ll LOVE about Crystal Lake is what you’ll love about Spiritbox. Ryo is a bonkers vocalist, his range is immense, but I’d argue that the band as a whole has as much, if not MORE range than Ryo’s vocals. Insanely brutal songs, catchy metalcore songs, a couple songs with hardcore elements and even some light songs in between. The band is madly talented and if you’re anything like us you’ll be obsessed in no time.
You NEED to react to Crystal Lake! Ryo's vocals are not always this heavy - though he doesn't do cleans really. I HIGHLY recommend checking out Apollo, Lost in Forever, or Devilcry
When you talk about the electronic synth in the background, i immediately connected it to the sweeping tones of a spirit box. If you've never heard the sound before look it up. It really plays into the core of the band name. I love it
@@ChaseCarneson really love watching you react to bands that stole my heart. Its like falling in love with the song all over again. Thank you. That's special
I was waiting for this reaction, Ryo just took it to a new level! Excited to see the Crystal Lake reaction and hope you also check out Ne Obliviscaris!
Any more Maximum the Hormone reactions coming up? Yoshu Fukushu and Maximum the Hormone II -Let’s Talk about Menkata Cottelee are masterpieces! Also please react to Sokoninaru! I recommend starting with Gou Ni Moyu, Tenohira De Odoru, or the new song Lament Moment.
New Babymetal official MV released 30 mins ago (40,000 views already!) - the bangin' tune BxMxC, which took the roof off when I saw them live in Feb this year. Enjoy! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ng8mh6JUIqY.html
am I the only one who didn't realize that he hasn't actually checked out crystal lake yet?? maybe it's because they're so amazing I just assumed he'd looked into them considering how much incredible music he's reacted to on this channel... now I'm super excited to see some crystal lake
Now that you got Ryo on here, you really need to do Crystal lake. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT! Not only is their music absolutely god tier amazing, their videos are artistic masterpieces in their own right.
Crystal Lake is just another example of Japan kicking down the door to the metal scene! Apollo or Into the Great Beyond would be great starting points to their music. Cheers from Dallas!
It was definitely smart of them to reach out to you. I think they understand that part of what has built the hype for Spiritbox has been reaction channels. Free advertising
If you like the extremally low screams, check Whitechapel, e.g. When A Demon Defiles a Witch or Brimstone (lows from hell at the beginning of the song :D)
Dude, love your reactions, You'd probably like a Japanese band called Devil Within, they have a female vocalist and it's pretty brutal death metal, her screams are awesome. Or another suggestion is Nocturnal bloodlust. You will enjoy them a lot. Also if you like Ryo, he makes a guest appearance with Coldrain in their song Mayday, it's a cool song. Or you should see Crystal Lake live, that guy is a machine on stage.
Crystal lake is Metalcore, but kinda has a lot of techy experimental influences. Id say their catalogue is quite broad so you can get songs like really heavy tracks like Hail to the fire, Aeon, Disobey and Omega and then more mainstream like poppy kinda songs with catchy choruses like Watch me Burn, Into the Great Beyond, Prometheus, Apollo, Sanctuary.
There’s this other reacting channel called Kardavox Academy, the guy on that channel (Mark) is a trained metal singer/screamer. His reactions always talk about how these bands get the different types of screams, from how they use distortion in their voice, to their mouth shape and tongue position influencing the sound of the scream or growl. I think it’d be great if you could collab with Mark on a reaction someday, because it’d be great to see a complete dissection of both the instrumental part and the vocal part of a song by such knowledgeable people.
You should definitely check out the band Tallah with either the song "red light" or "overconfidence" . Instrumentals are insane and the vocalist is EVEN CRAZIER. His vocal range and abilities will blow you away
ryo also had a spot in "MAYDAY" by coldrian, makes the end of an already good enough song even gooder, highly suggest that as a song to check out ofcourse
I just paused your reaction (you bet I did 😂) to leave this comment (may come back to it afterwards). This video is SIIIICK... [Edit] Nope, nothing to add except that I loved this song, and this version is awesome. Great reaction!
@@LeatherDaddy97 I suggested vinushka as it really showcases kyo's vocal ability imo (the live version). I understand what you mean about dir en grey tho. I like them but not every song of theirs
I know you got a lot of comments for it, but I hope you start off with Apollo, it's really like their anthem and the song that blew them out of the water. Seen em live twice and they're absolutely incredible.
Didn’t see it called out, but that scream you’re referring to is called a guttural. It’s usually done with taking a low scream as the base, but you also retract the soft palette and curl your tongue up while pursing the lips. Really trying to create a lot of space for the scream to resonate so you get that almost toilet bowl sound.
Crystal Lake - Disobey and/or Aeon if you want the really heavy side of Crystal Lake with vocals comparable to what he does here. Both insanely heavy and rad songs imho. Love your reactions man, you actually give good and interesting inputs to the music.
