Sheartak Spiral Cutterhead for Robland SD510 is made to the exact same measurements as the original straight-blade cutterhead.
On switching the machine on there was a remarkable reduction in noise which is great. I passed a 250mm wide piece of Iroko through the thicknesser and the finish is absolutely perfect. When I was running the standard block I needed to wear ear protection, with the spiral head we were able to talk whilst planing the iroko, un-believable. Instead of a high pitched screaming noise whilst planing it is more of a buzzing sound which is much kinder on the ears and the neighbours. I would certainly suggest that anyone running a straight bladed head should look at changing to a spiral head.
