Review: Sony MDR ZX770BT/B!

checked out this review because the MDRXB950BT are just so huge to me. love how much slimmer of a silhouette these have. probably won't buy either to be honest, since these are getting a bit dated. but was pleasantly surprised to see you replying to recent comments on this 1.5 year old video! keep up the work!

I just bought this very model(with blue trim) and I agree with your assessments. I warmed up to them after a few days as they broke in. I like the balanced sound they provide.

I bought one of these 3months ago and still lovin it.. it's not the best bluetooth headphone in the market but at AED 599 here in dubai, its really good value. Neither did I encounter bluetooth connection problems nor battery issues. Nice sound quality and the earcups are comfy. The headphone is light but you do feel the weight of it after a few hours of usage.

You can check the battery level remaining. As explained in the help guide - when you turn the unit on the light flashes red 3 times for high charge 2 times for medium and 1 time for low. When the battery is dead then no red light.

How would you compare these to the Bose Soundlink 2 because the Bose are $100 more? I would use them to workout/play basketball in. Which ones should I get?

I appreciate your range testing but for me I would like pocket testing added. Might sound stupid but some headphones drop off completely when put in front jeans pocket. Great video as usual.

I was doing laundry while wearing them and they did keep falling off, but that must be because I have a small head or something. It was on the smallest setting thing it could go, but I guess it got worn out a little bit.

These are NOT Bluetooth only. You can use them with the USB lead supplied!

When you said nostalgia I thought you were talking about their 7506's because those are a classic Sony design but then you brought up the Bose...... Also the reason you don't see an aux cord is likely due to the BT only model, if you got the noise cancelling ones they include the aux input for use on planes. Great review though.

you need to get sony phone the can connect with nfc so if the Bluetooth is not goodd use NFC

Hey there. How tall are you and what is your weight? I'm trying to get a sense of scale with these things. Especially vs. the Bose AE2i and AE2w.

What's the best headphones if you only want headphones to listen to university lectures and nothing else? (so maybe comfort/lightweight, battery life, and wireless are the most important for me, don't really care that much about sound quality) And I definitely don't want to spend more than $200

I am having a tough decision of getting either the 770TBs or the 950BTs (the two you compared in the video). Any personal recommendation? The price on the 950's are better ($90 "Refurbished") but for new they both retail for $150 now.

Lack of AUX is a huge deal breaker for me. sucks cause theyre on sale right now too

just got these theirs little to no bass, even if your not a bass lover the lack of will disappoint you. it's good for rock but for hip hop or techno it's no good. some songs will lose all feeling and soul. they are comfortable and the audio you do get is clear. they are nice sounding so to speak. if your the type that has multiple set of headphones or some type of collection this would be a nice edition but other than that pass one these. the Bluetooth is good didn't lose connection had a little bit of interference randomly more so in windy areas but other than that it was good, the controls are easy to navigate you'll get use to them in little to no time. another deal break for some might be the volume doesn't go up to high and again if ur listening to hip hop you will find yourself blasting these to try to make up for the lack of bass but it won't help. I will be exchanging these for another brand it sucks because I like the build quality and look to them and they are comfortable. other point they provide a little noise canceling not the greatest in that department but some which can also be a plus to some. but great review never the less. hopefully this post might add to it and help anyone looking to purchase these.

I actually prefer a balanced sound experience. I really think it's ignorant when people only care about an insane amount of bass. It's like saying a ton of sugar makes your coffee good...

I picked these up this weekend for $69 at Best Buy. I am debating on returning them for XB950 BT as I feel like they are lacking in the bass and in overall volume all together (I need them turned all the way up to 100% at the gym). Other than better bass, are the XB950's worth the $60 difference? They are at BB for $130.

Also, I think you can check the remaining battery charge (only found after checking sony site). You probably can't do it while charging as you say. From Sony: 'Pressing the POWER button will cause the indicator to flash and show the remaining battery charge. 3 times: High2 times: Medium1 time: Low (needs to charge) When the battery is almost emptyThe indicator turns red. I bought a pair and it has aux so they must have added it.

My set just crapped out. The battery won't accept a charge . It has been under heavy use roughly 7 hours a day Monday through Friday for about 10 months which is outside of the warranty period of three months.

are these durable?
