I have used these postcards many times for watercolor, and really like them! They are fun to mail to family and friends, and travel well through the post. Another great review Teoh! Stay healthy! 🌸

I use these and similar cards from Arches for sketching. The small size makes them easy to carry. Instead of just sticking them in the mail I buy a folded card from Paper Source with slots cut to hold corners of the painting.. Matching envelopes available too. Makes a nice gift.

I use these and just started watercoloring using mostly line and wash and sometimes loose painting. By the time you get to the end of this little booklet, you will improve. Thank you for all the reviews you do because it heavily influences my purchasing since I am just starting.

I happened to test the paper in these postcards the other night. My guess is, it’s the 400 series paper. Many years ago, they used to make them out of the 500/Imperial 100% cotton! Personally I am not fond of 300 or 400 series paper - it’s sized really hard.

You should of tested the cards by posting them after to see how durable they are and if they get wet do they not smudge or bleed.

Have you seen the Visual Journals? There's a 140 wt and 90 wt watercolor sketchbooks. Wonder what you thought?

Fabriano is a good brand but more expensive.

Teoh Yi Chie true, but there are only 2 brands selling postcard formats here, and the other (Hahnemühle) is only 230 gms (although that's 10 cards more and comes with a metal box, so it's tempting :D), so I thought I'll go with the brand people say it's good.

Jeff Peters Thanks for the info, and yes, unfortunately in Hungary most things are not available :/ None of the shops I have access to sell Arches in general for example.

If they are from the same series number, they should be the same paper.

+Isabela H You just have to tilt the paper. Don't paint on it flat. If you draw on table, put something behind to prop it up.

please do a Reeves watercolor review, teoh :D normally around 10ish dollars but if u get them at michaels with hte 40% off coupon, it should only be $7 ish dollars. ive been seeing these paints around and i know theyre not professional paints and theyre more suited for children, but seeing a review would be nice as an "cheap alternative" for those who cant afford it lel

hey teoh, i have some painting canvases that my grandmother gave me last year as a birthday gift but im not sure if i should just paint on them right away. Do I need something to protect the canvases before use? And is it safe to sketch on the canvases with pencil?

+Puriki pop I'm not sure about those canvases. Aren't they supposed to be used with oil or acrylic? You can certainly use pencils for drafting first.

So I just got my first watercolor palette and I filled about 12 pans but I dont know how long it takes for the colors to dry. its nearly been a day since I left them to dry but thry still seem liquidity? Am I supposed to leave them in a cool area or warm area to dry?

What brand of watercolour did you use? If you have sunlight, close the palette box (not tightly) and put it under the sun. Or you can put the box on anything that's hot, e.g. top of your computer, monitor. It's easier to dry when left in a warm place.

It's for casual watercolor work, not for masterpieces.
