Nobody is homeless on purpose. I live on the East Coast as well where a studio apt is $3500-9000 per month and I to had a life event that caused me to have to live in the car and shower at Planet Fitness. It was a nightmare. So thank God they were able to turn it into something positive. ❤
This guy I worked with at Nordstrom was. He moved to Houston before finding a job, was staying in a hotel, eventually ran out of money and didn’t want to move back home. He had a gym membership at LA Fitness where he would shower, shit and shave. And from my understanding he didn’t come from a toxic family (unless he was lying) he just wanted to prove he could make it on his own.
If I had a dime for every time Jazmine talked about being a wife 🙄 and I’m not feeling her husband, he gives me, he never thought he would get a girl as pretty as Jazmine
Black excellence is excellence, period! Just getting it how you live and making ends meet is not a form of excellence...It's average/ordinary. To be excellent means to excel...to go above and beyond what is considered average or good. Excellence is to be extraordinary, extremely good, superior, outstanding etc.

I think Silas and Jasmine are just going through typical newlywed drama. There’s an adjustment period. Sometimes people have an idea of how life will be with their spouse and it’s always different. So I think they just have to communicate and respect each others feelings. I appreciated Jasmine at least in the way the episode ended not fighting with her husband in public. They can have that discussion privately. Hopefully they can find a balance.
I truly didn't know that Playboy was a thing for Black women! Other than the documentary & it's mentioning in SA accusations, I actually hadn't heard anything about Playboy since Hef died.
I'm allergic to dogs and all animals with hair..... Bria was completely out of line for bringing the dog without PERMISSION. You do not do that. Her and the dog would have had to exit. Its super inconsiderate.

As a married woman i didn’t like how Jasmine was sat there and didnt say anything. Although her husband and Jordan were having a calm conversation i think she could have intervened and took accountability for wanting to be out late with her friends.
I'm glad you decided to review this show. I wish there were more representations of black lgbtq plus people but....we know how that go. Young African and Famous is also coming back. Looking forward to those reviews as well.
Hey Rodney 👋🏿. I'm glad you're reviewing this show. I enjoyed the first episode Preston is my fav and I like Jordan, Maria and Nick so far too I love the way Preston thinks. He was right about what he said about Black Excellence. His confessionals are funny 🤣 I don't like Jasmine (she comes across judgy imo) and Silas(he seems insecure and controlling and I don't like how he came at Jordan for being Jasmine's single friend).

Jasmine is giving Robin Givens vibes 😂 I think she’s just trying too hard to control group dynamics for the cameras and taking her job as host a little too seriously 🙄 Along with the constant ‘wife title as a badge of honor’ banter, it made her come off slightly overbearing.
Silas & Jasmine got engaged after like 6 months. They don’t really know each other & that’s why he’s so pissed with his wife’s friend. YOU don’t know that your wife likes to be out late because she don’t do that with your homebody ass lol.
Silas knows he lucked up on a “trophy wife” (cause babyyyyyy them childhood pics let me know he probably wasn’t getting highly attractive women prior to making a certain amount of money) and Jasmine lucked up on financial security…. The feed into and play on each others needs and insecurities… it’s very performative (more so on Jasmine’s end) and once she’s tired of playing charades idk that it will last much longer thereafter…
I went to high school with Amir, idk how he caught on to his blackness so late tho cuz Lamar was very much black lol but he did hang with all the white Kids, but white kids were the minority at our high school, also Lamar is not in Austin it’s in the DFW area. He maybe moved out there after high school or before graduation I’m guessing

I really enjoyed the show premiere as well! Jasmine is cool but I think Sis is a bit delusional. Preston and Jordan my faves so far. The lady with the service dog can go. You have me hollering about the MESSY dollars you saving for later. 😂😂😂
Bria was rude…PERIOD… ESA I get but don’t act like everyone likes dogs/animals like you do… dogs cause some people issues with allergies and also anxiety. People who are animal lovers don’t care about those who don’t. Maybe Jasmine thought Bria would keep her dog in her room and out of the common areas… if she not cleaning the dog hair and dog 💩she is way out of pocket…PERIOD
I dont think its fair to say shes changed her behavior because he wants her to. it sounds like she wanted to change for him. believe it or not but there are some wives and husbands who want to be better for their mate.
Rodney, I don't do reality TV. But after your review of episode 1 and 2 I decided to watch episode 1. There's so much I could say, but I'll say this: As much as I thought Bria was highly disrespectful to Jasmine, one thing about it, two things for sure, without makeup on, Bria was walking around that house looking like a living doll! She gorgeous! And literally had no makeup on.
Crazy, but serious question yall, cause I'm pushing 50yo, truly don't know & want understanding..is being a Playboy bunny a badge of honor, something impressionable or that opens doors for Black women? Is it like the pageant world or dance community subculture where they know of each other? I'm fascinated, I truly didn't know about this.
Bria was wrong for not letting Jasmine know about the dog a head of time, but Jasmine was doing too much. Even down to when her friends arrived her reaction was so over the top.
@@blaquehealer5484 The show Summer House has been on for more than a few years. The point is that it's just a new installation. They can start below deck with an all black cast and just because you've never watched below deck doesn't make it new.

@@RodneyThaVoice one if the guys I knew was in the military (one if the smartest/wisest guys I’ve ever met) liked the freedom. He would come and hang out at the barber shop i worked at. He’d go to the VA to keep his health up but that’s it take showers and wash up where ever he could.
I just binged the 3 episodes. I love this show!! Preston, I disagree. Surviving is not black excellence. Struggle is struggle. It's time to stop glorifying it. Good Times, scratching and surviving, is not black excellence. Sorry 🤷🏾♀️
