That's a great combo! and you have f/2.8 through that whole range!!

I now have this lens and did my first walk around with it today to test it out. I'm happy with my purchase and am looking forward to testing it side by side with the Tamron 17-28 which I also own. This 20-40 balances much better on the A7C than the 17-28 does and I am very happy with this lens going longer( and being smaller!) It is going to save doing a lot of lens swapping when travelling and is a perfect street lens in a busy city.

Wow Tampere Finland, my hometown. BTW In description "jolutori" should be "Joulutori" (Joulu = Christmas, tori = market).

My 3 lenses I use the most are 20 24 and 50, so I wonder if losing the 10mm at the tight end will be s problem - I honestly don't think much as I shoot entirely for social media work and never use all my resolution so I guess at 40mm i could allow for 10-15% crop

We really the enjoy the 28-75/2.8 G2, this 20-40/2.8 really intrigues me because it holds one of my favourite focal lengths: 40mm. Nice!

I have Tamron 28-75mm F2.8 G2. May I ask you to provide some tips to help me to choose between 17-28mm or 20mm-40mm? Thanks.

Hi George. I would probably push you toward the 17-28 - you then have no overlap and two lenses covering a great range of 17 to 75. Only buy the 20-40 if you want to go one lens and you find that you are not shooting much above the 50 + focal length with your Tamron 28=75.
