Review: The ToughBuilt Tool Belt System 

I am a fan of the toughbuilt tool belt system. I'm a satellite cable installer and I have been using one if the electrician pouches and the xl drill holster for several months now. I have the toolbelt but I have yet to use it. I got it for when I switch to wearing bib overalls in the winter. Currently, I put the clips on my regular belt every morning and then use the pouches as needed through the day. Love this system as it has made my work more efficient. Great video. Keep up the good work!

Custom home builder here. I love this system. Just like you I got a pouch for framing, pouch for maintenance, use the electricians pouch for woodworking stuff. So charging into a new mode is easy but the best part literally for me is being able to remove pouches and kickstand em when I need to be knelt down.... Genius stuff also they sell brackets now too.

Great review about the tough built system! I totally agree with you! They need to sell a bracket that is normally attached to the back of the bags they sell, by itself . So as us contractor's can customize to our own needs.

I am complit agree whit you time=Money, when you do the esey way you are more productive thast give to you time and like we know time=money great video you have a new subcriber from CentralAmerica, Honduras.

I am new to the system but I must say I couldn't be happier. I do insurance and remodel work so I started with tape measure knife and notebook punch then the tradesman with the hammer loop with the toughbuilt belt like yours. Loved it so much in a month got the suspenders gel fit, independent hammer loop(I like my hammer on my back) and drill holster with pouch and bit holders and it's just straight up gangster man. I just don't see with the price points and guarantees thus company stand behind how other tool belts could even begin to compare. I mean lord if you don't like the tool belt you can literally wear you must comfortable pants with loops were a good old belt and put everything I just talked about directly on that. Simply stunning I tell you

I’ve used this system for more than 2 years and beat the crap out of it and it still works great I only have 1 pouch but use it 6 days a week for electrical work on sprinkler systems really do recommend this

One of the best reviews on RU-vid especially on this system if not in general. I appreciate your input of how you integrated this into your work and organized it instead of just hitting on the features of the system. Props to you. This sold me and I'm excited to apply this to my water treatment contracting business.

Stumbled on this system at Lowes, my first time there just last month. Prior, it was 2 decades of Home Depot. Finally a modular belt system. I agree about the brackets. Im already scavenging the brackets off the less expensive pouches for my own use. Also, I dig the footlocker setup. Nice. I’m heading the same direction thanks to your idea. Great video man. I just ordered a belt and pouches from Amazon.

I might swap a couple of my carry boxes to a pair of bags and belt. Being able to keep the bags loaded and hanging in the truck is awesome.

I also wish they made or sold those clips separate. I’m considering buying their cheapest pouch just to cut off the clips for one of the Milwaukee 7-Pocket Compact Utility Pouch. The Milwaukee is a good pouch but it can’t seem to stay on my belt. But with that toughbuilt system would make it perfect!!

I have 2 Menards by me kinda nice, Onalaska and North Side of La Crosse. I just bought almost all of these pouches, the gel suspenders, and belt. I don't have the electricians ones yet, someday though.

You can buy the brackets by themselves or at least in UK you can. They come in sets of 3 I have them screwed to the bulkhead in my van to hang numerous pouches set up with tools for different jobs

Menards does sell the metal bracket you want. Send tough built an email they will contact you back. I wish they made a pouch to pouch system for screws and nails. So you would have a pouch with carpenter tools on it with clips in the front to put say 2 other pouches onto it and then I would buy a plethora of them to clip on and then all I change out are the fastener pouches on the front.

I had some of these bags in the past without the belt or anything and I thought they were great. Now I pretty much bought the full line of bags due to the brand I usually use for tool bags and pouches is Veto Pro but that stuff is like 5 times the price and they don’t have as big of a lineup as Toughbuilt has when it comes to pouches.

As a new general contractor I was looking for a decently priced modular system and I believe I’ve found it with toughbuilt.

I agree with you in regards to diversity. The system is awesome, they do need to redesign the drill holders. I use Milwalkee M18 and none of the drill holders work with it. The compact unit looks and works the best, but keeps hitting the trigger. The other 2 pouches fit the drill very sloppily. It would help if HD or Lowes had it in stock. I came across these at Menards as well, and yes they are regional. Your hard pressed to find a Menards on the West Coast.

Just bought the system haven't tried it out yet..what did you mean by brackets?

I just bought the tough built suspenders and they came with 4 loops that go around the belt but just have a button to connect the loop back together and the buttons keep popping off just wondering if I’m doing it wrong any comments or answers would help thanks

As far as a bracket system you can make one easily. Get some 2” flat stock aluminum or steel and cut to length add clips on the metal and bolt to your tool box in the van or bolt to a ladder or tool cart with a couple thick washers to keep the bracket off the mounting surface

Had a buddy who used these a few years ago when we were Cable TV/ High Speed Data Techs. He had installed a bar on the inside of the side door of his van so when he was done with a call, he could just hang up the tool pouches and away he went. If at the next stop he didn’t need them, so be it, or, if was doing something that required a different set up, he had two or three set-ups to choose from. If you’re climbing a ladder to check the tap at every trouble call, as was our policy, your fiberglass ladder already weighed 75 lbs and your meter was easily another 10-15lbs....any weight you could save on tools was a plus. Now I do handyman work and our jobs vary widely from day to day. I have recently purchased a set of bags and will soon be doing a few set-ups for specific tasks for myself. (Did I mention that I do most of this work out of a two door Honda Accord?) (Yeah , I know...Insane right?) Gal at McD’s drive through looked at my jam packed car and said, “You need a van.” I said, “Great idea! Do you have one?” She said, “No.” I said, “Well then, I guess I’ll just have to make this work a little longer then.” I Love Love Love your explosives box set up. Love that your dad got an explosives box from somewhere and you were like, “Cool...I don’t ask questions.” I may try something similar in one of the large Packout boxes or Rigid open crates. My only concern is that the plastic involved in making the system what it is, adds weight making it heavier than some other nylon setup. I do like the option to take something off but I generally find when I take things out my nail bag they all end up back in there within about half an hour. I do see merit in the system but not enough if it adds significant weight. Would you say it’s much lighter than the equivalent setup in leather?

I’m not sure what you mean at the end with regards to more flexibility.... You can buy clip hubs separately and rails separately, I’m sure you could cut the rail to suit your needs?? Btw your video convinced me to buy this system, so cheers! 👍👍

Videos are getting better. I like some of the creative cuts in this. Also... I've been wondering about that system. I foolishly loaned my toolbelt to someone, and it never came back....

I just bought one of the cheaper pouches so I could use its bracket. But the bonus is that I screwed the pouch that I cannibalized to a work area that I fill with glasses and a pencil, paper, and whatever I need in it. So win-win. But please start to sell them and end the insanity. ok, a little over the top. lol
