Thank you so much for the honest feedback, you just saved me a $1000; I've been wrecking my head to pick a bag and I liked this one a lot but with my 15 inch laptop this one is gonna hurt my shoulders with that angle and straps!!
Me too. Was interested in this bag, but now, nope. The straps on the back are dumb too. they should be removable. The should have done a removable crossbody strap instead anyway.
Very good and HONEST review. Thank you. I did have my suspicions about the weight of the bag and the forward leaning which are two dealbreakers for me.
I bought mine a year ago. Using it everyday to work. I travelled to both London and Paris with this bag, walking daily to conference and around the city of Paris. Yes it can be heavy but wouldn't say a complete No No.
My midi arrived last week and my regular maestra arrived yesterday. I ordered both because I can’t decided without seeing them in person. I like the midi because I can definitely wear it in 4 ways, the size is similar to my speedy 30 on what I can fit. The maestra however is good in size for sure but looks big on me and it only looks good on a backpack with my size. My husband also agree that midi is the one to keep because it’s a perfect size for me. I’m happy with this bag so far. Quality is amazing and the color too! I got the lavender.
Ohhh the lavender is super cute too! Yeah the midi looks like a perfect size! I know right the quality looks well made and durable! I’m happy you like it too! 😊😊 I’m super tempted to buy a midi lavender too
Miss Muse you should! My husband said the shade of it sometimes looked like it was gray color and the lavender color is just so perfect shade not too much.
Thanks you for sharing your video with your honest thought about the bag, it's very helpful 👍🏽.I am thinking to getting this bag for office work/professional purposes and commute every day on the train.
Thank you SO much for the follow up! I've been super on the fence about the bag and I think I'm just going to pass. I wanted to use it for traveling purposes ahaha
Thank you for your candid and thorough review on the bag. I recently bought the Maestra from a reseller (new) and within 3-4 months of use commuting to work 3 days/week, the interior flap has begun to pill and the straps started to wear although I don't regularly transport my laptop or anything heavy for that matter. I carry a hardcover book, my house + car keys, wallet, phone, and small cosmetic bag. I am easy on bags and have a number of mid-tier and luxury bags for years without the level of wear and tear of this one. When I reached out to Senreve to request repair options they told me I was beyond the warranty period and there was nothing they could do, although it was a new bag. The fact that the company doesn't even stand behind their products is maddening. I truly don't get the hype behind the brand and the quality certainly isn't worth the cost. Also, while it does have a nice design, it isn't a comfortable bag to wear.
Thank you for your review. I love that bag and am thinking of buying it to carry my music score. But I'm short, 152cm, and worried about if it looks ridiculous when I wear as a backpack. I never seen it in person so your reply would be very helpful.
No worries! Thank you for watching! I think for your height it would be best for the midi sized! Since it’s just for music scores I think it will fit inside.
Thanks for your video and information!!! I got my dragon forest Maestra bag today and I’m so happy my DELL 14 inch laptop fits in the laptop compartment!!! The bag is not as big as I was worried about 😆
Superb update, gives me great points to consider whether or not to purchase. Also, unrelated but I’m curious, are you not making YT videos any longer? I’ve just found your channel and you have such a lovely demeanour, I’m definitely looking forward to watching more of your content ✨
This is really helpful and honest review! I’m considering buying a Maestra bag, but I may not want it if my laptop cannot fit into the sleeve. Can you tell me the width of the inner laptop sleeve? My laptop width is 32.3cm. Thanks a lot!
And how water proof is this bag? If it’s raining and I put my 14inch laptop in it and carry it as a backpack while cycling to work, will water get into the bag? I see there are gaps at the two ends of the zipper so I’m quite worried about it
The bag minus the gaps is waterproof cause of the leather but water will get into the bag via the sides. Maybe getting a bag cover to protect it if it’s raining. Ps. Sorry for the late reply I will check tonight about your last question on the bag :)
Hi, do you think the bag can be wore as a mom bag/diaper bag? I'm afraid it's gonna be too heavy to carry around. (I'm probably gonna carry it as a backpack). I'm also looking at the Midi size and can't decide which size is the right size for me..I'm 5'6'' btw. Which size do you recommend? Thanks!
Hi Yufei! I wouldn’t recommend it. It will be much to heavy/compact for a mom/diaper bag maybe even not enough space unless you get the original sized one. For your height both the midi and the original would be good! Just depends how much space you need.
Thank you for the review. I am thinking about ordering the midi. I went to a pop-up store today and found out it was quite heavy. Also the strap transition from shoulder bag to backpack was not that smooth. A bit of disappointment. Hard for me to use during long hours of walking ( I go to different homes to work).
Thank you for watching :) yeah the bag itself is pretty heavy and yeah I don’t recommend it if you need to do long hours of walking and carrying a bag. It’s probably more suited as an office or a going out bag.
Thank you for this video. You confirmed something I was thinking: this bag will be great for work and “around town,” but it is not a long haul or travel bag (unless you’re a true minimalist when you travel). I’m still thinking about getting it for work/professional purposes, but will think about whether I want to purchase a different backpack for traveling (especially when I travel for work). I currently use a Chrome brand backpack for travel, and wanted something nicer specifically for work travel. Again, thank you! 😊
Wow that’s a perfect summary of what I was trying to say!! 👍🏻 Yeah I wouldn’t recommend Senreve Maestra as a travel bag. It’s got the aesthetics and function just not the comfort for heavy or long period travel. Oh Chrome never tried them are they good?
Chrome is a great brand. If you’ve heard of Timbuk2, then you’ll have an idea of what Chrome is. (In case you haven’t, both brands originate in San Francisco and were initially created for bike messengers. I would’ve described Timbuk2 as the colorful customizable brand, and Chrome as the urban industrial brand. Now, they’re very similar, and designed for a broader customer base.) Both brands have convertible bag options, but sadly, they aren’t that chic, classic, or on trend style that most women are looking for in a work bag (in addition to utility and practicality). I’ve used both brands for traveling and have been very happy with both. I’ve used my Chrome occasionally for work, and it just...it’s not the look I want to present in a professional setting. Sorry to ramble on. I hope that makes sense and helps. 🙂
@@MissMuse that's what I think too. unfortunately, I will need to keep searching for the one that could fit my laptop. if you find any interesting bag for me to check out, please let me know. my laptopp length is 13 inches.. (slightly bigger than Mac book pro)
Are you looking for a handbag style or just a better looking leather backpack? If your just after a comfy backpack I found Hershel bags super comfy and has a laptop pocket. There are two sizes one for 13 and one for 15. But it made from fabric.
@@MissMuse I don't think it will fit mine because the base length of the bag is only 10.25 inches. You know what? maybe it works if I put it in the middle section but diagonal position. I should order it to see how it feel.
Does your microsuede lining shed? I just received my midi Maestra and I put my phone in the inner tablet pocket and there was a ton of fibers sticking to my phone 😕
No sorry I’ve never had that problem? Maybe follow it up with Senreve and see if this is an issue. My micro suede lining doesn’t come off or shed. Sorry to hear that your one does that 😔
Hello! From looking at the measurements of the midi and a 13inch MacBook Pro it will fit in the middle compartment but will have the same space and access issue I have with the large sized one for my 15inch.
Did you ever find a bag you DO like to use for a 15" MBP? I've been trying so hard to find a bag that fits my laptop but still has some fashion sense to it. 99% of laptop bags are SO utilitarian looking!
Hi Eleine, unfortunately the hunt for the perfect bag is still ongoing. I still use my Senreve for my 15” but mostly since I’m currently in Japan teaching English I’ve been using my practical backpack rather than handbag. I understand the struggle ;( yeah laptop bags are not pretty... also from what I’ve seen not many bags are designed for 15” it’s mainly catering to 13” or tablets... I’ll definitely make a review if I ever found an amazing laptop handbag.
@@MissMuse I think I'm going to try out one of the Leather Satchel Company's totes or briefcase satchels. After 2 weeks of searching I think they might be my best bet. Not only are they a fraction of the price for similar quality, they have a TON of customization options including just about any color way. Waiting to get leather swatches from them now. Seattle Leather also makes nice bags but they're all 5 lb or more 😭
Ohhhh I have one of those bags but not the sidebag version but the mini backpack portrait one. It’s nice! stiff and compact. Buckle is a little annoying but it’s quality and secure.
I’ve potentially found one it’s call the (Large )Allyn Leather Tote by Dagne Dover. It doesn’t have convertible backpack straps but looks big and not bad looking. I’m thinking of purchasing and making a video on it ^_^ just debating what color. Onyx or bone
@@MissMuse you're braver than I am! I can never keep light leathers clean. Plus I'm obsessed with oxblood. I think I'll be trying a Leather Satchel landscape tote once the swatches arrive, then eventually a satchel with several customizations
I just used some left over plastic packaging used to cover screens and cut them into circles. :P I’m sure you can just find clear sticky film and cover it? Like the clear book seals.
Really, good! I got the mimosa version not the pebbled and I chose this because I feel pebbled looks plastic. But that’s my preference. The leather is thick and durable but with this plus it does make the bag heavier.
@@MissMuse Have you noticed any awkward tilting forward of the bag when you're wearing it on your shoulder? or as a backpack? I saw a few complaints about that. Another comment was on it being kind of hard to zip up. Thoughts?
@@fuzzbuzzbrown987 yeah as I mentioned in my video it does do that (i also showed an example of it doing that) when I wear it as a side bag. But i never had any problems with it as a backpack. No the zipper is good quality never had any problems super smooth and strong.
_Do you know how much stuff the bag can hold ? Got mine @ _*_gurep.com_*_ ,and you just pay a fraction compared to the actual thing, haha! So cool that it comes with the brand card as well! They really pay attention to detail and clearly try to make it as authentic as possible._
