Today I thought I'd review a fragrance I've been wearing off and on for a month or so now, deciding on whether or not I should buy it, Xerjoff Richwood. So... Am I going to buy it?
I hate rose, but I like Richwood bc it's well blended, not as rosy on me as it is on you, and the patchouli and sandalwood are awesome... plus it is available at discounters for almost half price :)
Sounds like you got a wrong decant because rose is not even detectable in richwood. It's centered around the citruses in the opening with a medicinal touch that comes from the patchouli and then just settles to a creamy sandalwood.
I perfectly understand what you are saying about too posh for the occasion. I buy sometime a dress that is too nice to wear for the normal occasion. So I almost never will wear it. And when it doesn’t ring all your bells and it is a bit boring, problem solved. Sometimes a fragrance that doesn’t develop on your skin, can be boring when they are very present. There is no escape for a while. Thanks for the review , bye Mirjam
No escape is a really great way of putting it actually! That's exactly how I felt when I said it makes me feel tired, like I just want a break from it, but it doesn't let you go! haha
I don’t know why but I don’t get any rose at all from Rose31. In fact the entire scent is weak, I barely get any notes. I ordered a decant from 6 different places and returned each one, thinking I was ripped off. So I ordered a decant from Le Labo. And when I received I was again let down. I again get no rose and nothing else much. I really didn’t like it. Now for the Xerjoff Richwood, oh my goodness I do love that perfume. It’s definitely a female perfume. And so beautiful.
I’ve heard this compared to Coromandel before, but if it has a prominent rose note, I don’t see how they could be very similar. Sounds lovely, but the price is pretty ridiculous.
Talking Scents I think you will love Coromandel! I know I do. I get no rose from Coromandel...none. It’s all about patchouli, resins, white chocolate and bitter orange. Did you get the edt, or edp?
EDP unfortunately, I have been holding out to see if I could get a used EDT, but my impatience go the better of me in the end! I'm not sure how different they are but I hear wonderful things about the original EDT, so I hope not too much!
Talking Scents I’ve never tried the edt, but the edp is beautiful! I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. The only one of the line that I have tried both of is Sycamore. I’m not a big fan of woody fragrances, but I way preferred the edp. To me the edt was too thin, the edp was more full bodied and performed much better...just my opinion though.
Because there is NO ROSE smell whatsoever in Richwood. It DOES smell like Coromandel. I have both and at dry down it’s very similar. But no rose at all. Ever . I don’t get how he smells so much rose. Maybe he’s got rose in his nose...lol
Rose, Bomb? Rose on top of citrus? You've just written the new perfumer book of all times. Stay away of scents pls, or learn them... wow what a disgrace
