thank you so much for tackling this tablet. It was on sale this month, but there is only few reviews on yt. Im glad you review it cuz i can trust all of your reviews. Thank you so much!!😊
I’ve never tried digital art outside of MS paint and I’m thinking about getting this as my first pen tablet. Now I’m having second thoughts because of the rubberized (plastic) edges and buttons. I know that they serve an ergonomic purpose but I’ve had an awful experience with those. I have a solar powerbank with a plastic rubberized body. Overtime (maybe because of sun exposure, IDK) the rubberized layer became very sticky. I hope that its not the same material because I really like the features, based on this helpful review. But maybe I’ll do more research about this or maybe opt to buy a different XP Pen model instead.
Hi.....I have had a number of devices that suffered from the same sticky problem and I removed the stickiness using Iso Propyl Alcohol.........the rubber is a thin coating and gets washed off with rubbing with alcohol.
@@sarushamcreates Yes, it takes a bit of washing with the spirit but I did get it all off in the end after rubbing with a soaked tissue etc......I've had a couple of electronic devices that had the same problem and I think it's the sweat from your hands that does it.
Thanks Teoh for this informative tech review. Just curious to know, apart from drawing apps, is this tablet also uses for note writing e.g: Goodnotes, Noteshelft, Notability kind of writing app on MacOS? Is pen tablets still popular nowadays (especially in art industry) since so many screen tablets in the market today which allows you to "draw direct" on the screen? Is pen tablets recommended for child as a tool to learn digital drawing?
Pen tablets are not good for taking notes because there is noticeable latency. When drawing, latency isn't that bad because people don't draw that fast. But when writing, people write fast, and hence latency will be more noticeable. E.g. The line will always try to catch up with the pen tip after each letter. Pen tablets are cheaper than pen displays. It's certainly more intuitive to draw on pen displays. But it really comes down to preference. E.g. If I use a pen display as a second display to my main display, I have to look up/down or left/right depending on my setup. So I prefer to get a big pen display as a main display, but that's expensive. Pen tablets can be set on the tablet and you can draw with your back straight so that's more ergonomic. I have a video talking about this. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HpMLgPHEaZU.html
@@teohontech7141 You've mentioned Latency. Is that also the case when you plug the Tablet to the computer via USB cable instead of using Blootooth? I would imagine the Latency to not be a problem anymore when using cable.
@@ElTestok There will still be latency with cable connection. Anyway, latency is not really an issue unless you're drawing really fast, e.g. cross hatching lines.
Hey Teoh, I have a question regarding the nib. You said there‘s a bit of movement/play when the nib touches the surface. Is this audible? When I gently tap the nib with my finger or tap it onto the surface, I get a faint clicking sound because the nib has a little bit of play. It‘s not too annoying, but I don’t remember the Wacom nibs having that, so that‘s why I am asking.
It probably sounds the same as Wacom nibs. It's not something I will notice unless I'm specifically looking out for it. The sound of the pen tip moving is louder due to texture than the tapping sound.
Hello! I have a question! Does the Stylus Buttons allow you to Pan/Scroll? Like, does it allow you to activate the Hand Tool and use it? I have an older model and it doesn't seem to allow me to press the Stylus Button WHILE using the pen nib. I'm looking to use the Stylus Button for the Hand Tool or to tilt my view. Thanks in advance!
Very similar to the other pen tablet on the market, no unique features. but anyway, can you add, in futures reviews, your experience with note taking/fast writing? With mac or win, is it present the finger sensitivity to move around the screen or use gestures like touchpad?
For writing, you want to write fast. Pen tablets will always have latency so writing is not going to feel as responsive compared to portable tablets. This does not support touch gestures.
Hi Teoh, one simple question... I am planning to buy my first Pen Tablet. Could you please let me know which one you recommend? Deco Pro MW or the new Deco LW? Or any recommendation around this price range?
Hi Teoh! Thanks for review, Is hover distance at xp pen deco l quite short like huion hs611 or high enough, and which one recommend? Thanks again for your time
I really want to get this since it is on sale, but I'm a little bit concerned with the wireless version longevity. Does this one battery replaceable? I saw someone having XP Pen Star06, showing that it has removable battery compartment that can be replaced with regular Nokia BL-5C batteries.... I couldn't find any information for this LW one.
No. You can't change any settings with Android as there's no driver. You can only use the tablet in vertical orientation, and your Android tablet in vertical orientation. But before that, hope that your Android tablet can actually show a cursor
i am torn between buying this newer xp pen tech or buying the deco pro with the scroll wheel and the fancy things .they are both at the same price point in my country so is the new x3 pen tech worth buying the new tablet or the old deco pro pen is fine?
Is the Deco LW compatible with ibisdraw on Iphone/ipad? On the XP-PEN youtube channel and web page they advertise that the Deco MW can be used on an iphone/ipad with ibisdraw. But I can't find anything that says if the LW is supported.
I was looking for this review on Macbook and I finally fount it. I have ordered it. I just wanna ask is that does it uses BLUETOOTH for wireless or do you have to use the dongle that they give??
Hello!! Im so interested on this but my friend said anything that include battery and charging wont last very long if you compare it with the conventional one. I wonder if it would be okay even in a long period of using, especially if you're an active artist who draw a lot? I love the wireless function so much but i think the risk kinda scares me as well. Thank you!
@@teohontech7141 ah! I have no problem with the charging one but i wonder if the tablet performance would affected as we use it for a long period of time (like after 1 or 2 years)
@@teohontech7141 okay thank you! I also heard that the pentab would automatically charged when it plugged, is it also fine if we plug it most of the times? (To the laptop)
Does this tablet have access to software that allows you to write notes and convert your notes to text? My hand shakes so my writing is not perfectly legible, does the software recognize my writing?
Hi Teoh! Can you recommend for me one of those for writing ' the most little latency' Deco l or wacom one medium size or Huion hs611. Help me man am so confused.
@@teohontech7141 So I have an issue that now I believe is from my laptop, see I have bought a Gaomon pen tablet and when I use the wheel in brush side mode, it allows me to reduce but not increase the brush side, I thought it was an issue from the tablet which is why I recently bought both the H580X Inspiroid (haven't arrived yet) and the KD100 Keypad, that it just arrived So I installed the driver and when I try the brush side mode it happens again, I can reduce but not increase the brush side. Please I have no idea how to fix it, I'm not that tech savvy and it is just now that I would like to give it a go at digital art 😩
@@teohyc I don't think I understand? English is not my native language and like I said, I'm not tech savvy My issue is the wheel, both in the pen tablet and the keypad, when on brush side, I turn and it decreases the brush side, but I turn the other way, it doesn't increase, I thought the whole point of the wheel is to move/touch it either way and reduce and increase the brush side with no issues
I know it's a old video, but does anyone know how to change the orientation of the deco on the phone? Like you get it connected, but the deco is landscape and your phone is portrait.... Idk if I'm making sense.
So much wobling lines, hell, its really bad. Huion pentech 3 lines looks smoother, and the stylus is large&rubberized. Unfortunately, Huion dont have medium tablet with pentech 3 :((
@@user-ts7lj1lu1k The new one should announced in May 2022. It's 13.6 x 8.5 inches so it gigantic. Not sure about the price yet. Anyway, generally speaking 10 x 6 is a good size that matches well with most display sizes, and affordable too. Drawing performance of Pentech 3 is slightly better than older pens but unless I have new and old pen side by side to test, it's really difficult to tell the difference.
