Very impressive and detailed review. All content and no fluff. The product takes center stage instead of somebody pretending to be a TV personality. This is how a tech review should be done. I've watched several reviews on this tablet and this is by far the most informative. Everything mentioned applies to real use-cases.
i have 4 years old cintiq 16 but the cable already damaged , and bought this 5 months ago when shopee have offer ( i think in malaysia this tablet around RM250, but i got it less than RM100, and yes, currently this is my go to tablet that i used daily)
Go with XP-Pen, a few years ago I discovered one of the reason why they are better than many non-Wacom competitors is how well the driver works with their product.
Hi Teoh, thank you for this beautiful review. I am planning to gift a graphic tablet to my boyfriend in his birthday this month. He is very good at drawing his imaginary characters but he never used any digital drawing yet. I think this one will be perfect for him as a beginner or even just to play around with. If you are still available to reply can you please recommend any other software for him rather then Adobe along with this tablet? Thank You!
Thank you very much. I open the driver after plug the device, and of course it isn't show the shortcuts and other configs (Mac) . Small but very important information.
Sir, if you had to decide between... A) iPad B) iPad air C) android tablet D) laptop with touchscreen E) laptop with seperate drawing pad... Which would you choose please? I have had sleepless nights over trying to decide for 2 weeks.... I need advice ... Ps. Budget is an issue and I don't have a pc.
Unfortunately I got all of these too late and opted for the touchscreen laptop as it is both laptop and touchscreen. Anyway, it's going fine, but I hardly use the touchscreen as it's not all that efficient. Luckily I have Adobe for art so more codes that screen drawing. Thank you for advise, I wish I got it sooner but we will see how it goes 😊
i dont usually comment much on tech videos but your video is really well made, Im an indian and a lot of indian tech youtubers' videos are cringey, your style of no fluff and only material talk is what I loved
one issue i have with this is with mouse relative mode. the lines are wavy and zig zag when using this mode for mouse control. i prefer the control but i just switch it off and use the placement on the tablet to determine location on screen, hope they fix it.
Thanks for all the vids. Helped me with choosing GalaxyTabS7 and I will probably get this one too. Seems like Huion and XP are on par with Wacom. However the Intuos tablets have a little fabric loop that can hold the pen for portability. Other makers should add this feature. But I had trouble with drivers on Linux... so I have to switch to Huion/XP
Thanks very much, and for making the text link available. One question I have that the video or the manual didn't directly address is that, if I buy the wireless model and connect it using the USB cable, can I use it in wired mode? For an extra $10 I'm ok with trying the wireless, but based on what you said I would want the option of using it wired it the wireless wasn't satisfactory.
I'm a beginner and im confused between the following 3 graphic tabletss: HUION H640P INSPIROY 6.3 x 3.9 WACOM CTL-472/KO-CX One 5.98 x3.74 XP Pen Deco Mini7 7x4.37
Thanks for the review. I want to buy this tablet but as you mentioned medium is a better choice but I don't have enough area for the medium size. I want to use it for retouching is the small size good or I should change my desk and buy a bigger one? 🤦
Thanks for your video, you're very organized, have some questions, does the tablet support hand touch in case you wanna use it instead of a mouse-pad, also, can it connect to your android tablet using Bluetooth instead of the cable?
Nice video mate.🙂. I have a question I am an online educator ..teaching through ppt...I am bit confused b/w Xp G960s and xp deco mini 7. what I should buy
I was looking for such a device and came across your video. I have a question. Any recommendations for a wireless tablet like this that is compatible with iPads? I have a iPad Air 4 that I use a lot for my school arts work. I like the idea of having my ipad placed on its stand, while I do all my drawings with my hand on my work table with this tablet. Any suggestions?
I don't know of any drawing tablet that can connect to iPad. Even with Android, such pen tablets don't work well because there's no driver support. You can check out the digital pens made by Adonit. Some will support the iPad Air 4 with pressure sensitivity, but may not work as well compared to Apple Pencil.
I am looking for one for remote Mathematic teaching. Is this the right model to go for ? Will "showing long calculation steps " work using this model ?
Hello Teoh, I have a question for choose a drawing tablet. I am an architect. My alternatives are Xp-Pen Deco 01 V2 / Xp-Pen Star 06 / Xp-Pen Deco Mini 7W. I will use the tablet with my desktop pc. Therefore actually I don't need a wireless tablet. But their prices are very similar in our country. Deco Mini has a smaller active area. Is that area enough to sketch something? Deco 01 v2 has wired. Star 06 doesn't support tilt action and is not compatible with Android. Are these lacks important? Which one is the right choice for me in your opinion? Thank you for your answer right now.
Get a 10 x 6 inch tablet if possible. It's a good size that goes well with monitors of any size. Not having tilt sensitivity is not a big deal. But many tablets actually support tilt nowadays so might as well get tilt. Consider Gaomon M10K Pro, Huion HS611 or other Huion tablets. Android support is not good with tablets regardless of brand. There's no driver so you cannot control the pressure curve. Sometimes the cursor may also not show up in Android depending on your device.
@@teohyc Thank you, Teoh. When I researched your recommendation, I saw that its features are very similar to Xp-Pen Deco 01 V2. But their prices are 2 times expensive from Deco 01. I did not understand the difference and Therefore I ordered Deco 01 V2. I hope it will be good for me.
@@ZenitsuKunn First of all, I have to say that Deco 01 is my first drawing tablet. I did not use any more different tablets. I can say my experience is good with Deco 01. I saw clearly that size of the tablet is more important for matching the drawing area with the screen when that tablet doesn't have any screen.
Hello sir, Could you recommend me between these three models XP Pen Deco Mini 7W, UGEE S640W, S1060W. Main purpose is online teaching. Not drawing picture. Thank you very much.
I recently bought it wireless deco device , I installed the driver and all and trying to connect it with wireless setup here it says device not found how to set up this device with wireless mode ?
i hope you see my message , so when i got my Xp pen deco mini 7 tablet , they told me to peel off the protective with the yellow ticket to peel it off , i'm curious if it's not needed to peel it off , because they didn't give any other protective film to protect the tablet from getting scratches
@@WEARESERVENT The driver does not have lock pressure setting. You will have to use a writing or drawing app with a brush/pen that does not use pressure.
hi i have an XP- pen tablet 12 pro and i got it years ago but the thing is when i got it, it came packed with a nib clamper to replace the nibs when they need to be changed , but I lost the clamper to change the nibs to my pen for my tablet , is there any way to get a replacement ?
I bought new Deco Mini 7 but I can notice pen rattling sound. It makes clicking sound when I lift the pen off the surface. Is this regular sound or something wrong with my pen?
Not sure about that. There's slight movement with the pen nib but I don't think it's gonna move enough to produce any noise. The noise should only come when pen nib touches the drawing surface.
Hi , I love the review. Can anyone tell me if this would be a good solution to use with Samsung notes for not taking ? Or with any note taking app on an android device for writing notes.
This one performs well. Although I would recommend you stretch your budget to get something that's 10 x 6 inches which is more comfortable for drawing, and pairs well with most monitor sizes.
Hello, I'm interested in buying this tablet, I currently have a huion that works without driver, but when you install the driver and close it like you it stops working. However if I turn off completely my computer and then on (not restart) OR just unplug and plug back my tablet with the driver closed it starts working. Is this something you can do with this Deco mini 7? Meaning, have it work without the driver for a little while? My question is because sometimes I have a login screen where I input my password in order to use my mac for security reasons and I need to use the tablet without launching the driver. Also when I need to do something like recovery startup where you cannot use a driver. Thanks in advance.
@@teohyc I'm came back to confirm it does work without the driver as I described in my question. It only stops working AFTER you install the driver and shut it down. If you reboot the tablet won't respond just like when you close the driver, BUT if you shut down the mac and turn it back on the tablet starts working, then the driver loads and continues to work. Thank you for swift answer, I hope this helps anyone having my earlier doubts. On a side note, I had to return my XP Deco mini 7 because it seemed to have hw problems, and after a few days of not getting answer from XP pen support I sent it back and I'm sadly getting back to buying a wacom Intuos. All this was after getting a Huion with the hopes of new horizons trying to ditch Wacom after ~12 years of glitchy drivers. I got the Huion, and instantly got WORSE driver issues (sticky modifier keys), got a replacement, same story, sent it back and got the XP pen with HW issues and the driver forgetting my configs. Ugh. If by any case any of this (or further detailed explanation) helps you out please let me know and I'll happily help. After all, you help us all in deciding what to buy explaining everything very detailed in well made videos. Thanks!
Yes, you have to charge the tablet. The tablet can still work while it's charging. If you draw non-stop for very long hours each day, then you'll have to charge more often.
