I've been using this tablet for half a year now and so far its performance was great. I use it with my phone and laptop and it works well with both. Just be careful not to drop the pencil or else you'll need to replace it for a new one.
My mom bought me the paint tool sai software when i was like 10 (so like around 2007-2008ish) I didn't even know drawing tablets existed, neither did my mom apparently. So I had to use the lasso tool....with my mouse......I saw some speed-paints and just thought people hand super steady hands lol 😭
At long last he did it! Been waiting for the review of this tablet. Thank you Brad. Your videos are basically Netflix for drawing tablet enthusiasts and artists.
This is amazing... Twice the amount of pressure levels & shortcut keys compared to a Wacom’s lower end tablets. I wish I could’ve started w/ this when I first started digital Art. 😭 Also, Im addicted to your vids Brad.
I just bought a Deco Mini to draw on my phone and wish I knew this existed before I bought it. Looks like the difference is them adding wireless to it. The more options the better. I wonder if a Deco Display Tablet is in the works.
I recently bought a pen tablet based on your other review. I have been a Wacom user for a long time and wanting to explore other brand can offer. So after I got the (non-Wacom) tablet - I noticed that the driver isn't well refined or inflexible or many limitation. Ie. the assign prog for that preset only work for the express key and not the pen; other example is those that some shortcut cannot be assign on pen button2&3 but able to assign to the pen-tablet express keys; another example is u cant assign mouse scroll/right click/ middle click on the dial or the express keys. What I am saying is that, perhaps you can provide review based "not just" what they have in driver but what is their limitation. As some of the missing feature (based from Wacom driver) can be a deal breaker for some. To me, the driver (software) is equally important as the hardware itself.
Would really like to see these companies give Linux some love. My drawing screens are now about the only thing tying me to windows. Even games now mostly work fine in Linux.
@@tokki7649 no not at all, atleast for me. The active area will work and be set according to your screen and it won't feel that small. I've used it on my phone and laptop and I've not any issues
@@solieixue huion H420 isn't bad but it isn't good for someone who is gonna use to it draw a lot. I've heard that people who use that a lot get their wrist in bad shape since it's a really small size. A 6x4 tablet is better and it's good that ur going to buy this one now since it's also damn good
@@atomii9455 I went with the deco 01 v2, Is pretty damn big. Unfortunately is my first one so i have nothing to compare it to but i love it. It feels good and it does its job. I'd say order the one you like through amazon and return it if you dont like it, then buy the other one
@@andreana5362 I like it! It seems like a great beginner tablet (it's my first), and a big bang for your buck. Super easy to use. I couldn't set up the controls, because the driver program they used whas not what I had. I have no clue what wireless/charging version he's talking about though 😅.
thank you for the very helpful reviews. I ran into the problem that there are no good convenient drawing programs for Lenovo tablets. without a laptop, a book and a photoshop. very inconvenient to control overlay transparency and more. Thank you for your review huion hs 1161 I was presented with this, I am very pleased. but the programs are imperfect on the tablet. I used to draw a book on a laptop. but my laptop book broke. now I just paint with watercolors on paper)
@@impression_dental thank you for your reply.. I have just ordered the same, how is it working? Shall I go for this or Wacom ctl 472 for long time use.. Could you plz suggest..
@@ayushijain909 uh, why? It's not related to art and design. I don't use it for work tho, but simply note taking. Too large space required many movement.
@@ayushijain909 uh, i can't give a good review. Cuz it's my first tablet so I'm okay with everything, the durability is okay but i never bring it mobile with me so you can consider the option. The tip is also last long for me since I'm not pressing it hard. My main concern is only the size for deco 01 v2. Oh and i think you should see how compatible xp pen with the app u use for teaching. I think it'snot like wacom that can be adjusted differently with each apps so i suggest to research for that first before buying.
Huions's H950p isn't wireless, but literally no wave, nearly the same price, larger drawing area and the lines doesn't have the sdtrange tapering issue. The initial activation force is very very light and it has tilt functionality. Also works with android devices. No reason to buy this for anyone. If it's too big for you, then choose the H640p model (no tilt).
if we use it regularly, what are the chances of scratches coming upon the screen? i saw people complaining about the scratches on XP-Pen StarG640S just by normal use. please let me know..
Hey, just a quick question: Why aren´t pen displays under categorys like portable and "must be connected to a pc"? I just can´t find an answer to this. I am currently searching for a pen display which is portable so I can take it with me to work while doing night shifts and it is really hard to find those if u are looking at a price under 1000 bucks.
I'm torn between this model and the Deco Fun L. Both the same price but the Fun series has double the realstate. What's so premium about the Deco Mini 7 model?
for any linux users the July 2021 Driver update (available from their website) is really good, highly recommend this tablet (the wired one anyway) for Linux.
Hey Brad, could you review the Huion h420? the one with the buttons? I already have an iPad, but I just wanna try drawing on my Mac, and that's why I want to buy the cheap Huion H420 but I don't know if I should get a slightly bigger one and which bigger one to get cause my mom said I should get a mid-range one if I wanted to actually try. I just don't have much money and I 'v been looking at the XP-pen deco and the Huion Hs611 ... Thx (I'm a high school student who likes art)
I think this xp pen deco mini 7 is a great deal for you if you're in a Budget. I have a small tablet too around 6x4 inch size I thought the size would bother me but it actually didn't. I use it for drawing and for my Animation projects also I have a friend who has deco v1 and she said it was too big for her.. If you have a big drawing space then go for the deco v1
Hey I have a question, I have a StarG640S and I use it with my phone. I often plug and unplug the tablet to store it somewhere, so do you think that is bad for the tablet? Should I just keep the USB plug in and store it just like that.... I scared that if I keep doing that the USB hole(don't know its name) would get too loose overtime.....
Are you planning on checking out the Lenovo P11 Pro? It doesn’t look very good for a $550 tablet that doesn’t include the pen but it’s cool that someone other than Samsung is actually trying at this price range for once
Great review! What would you recommend for an artist who wants to take his artwork to the next level? I'm thinking "ipad pro" down the line, but for now... what would be my next best step? Wacom? Or this little drawing pad? Any free programs to look out for? Your input is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Hi! I see that your palm doesnt really bother the screen, i mean, you don't has to wear a glove to use the tablet, and that's incredible cause using the glove everytime I want to write its awful. Can you use OneNote? I really want to know this bc i want it for online classes. Really good video! My english is not very good, but i hope you understand it haha.
Had it worked wirelessly with android like Huion Inspiroy Dial q620m does then it would have been a perfect device. Kindly inform the xp pen team from your end to add this as an update. I hope it could be implemented by a software update.
@@Adityadreamer I just bought it recently. The wireless adapter can go in the USB port, and when you plug the USB into your phone and turn on the drawing tablet, a little mouse appears on the screen. It's kinda like plugging a wireless mouse into your phone.
@@Adityadreamer ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ciMc2FafG8A.html It's kinda like this one, just with the wireless adapter instead of a Bluetooth connection. They're both made by the same company.
@@Adityadreamer no problem! It's a pretty neat drawing tablet to start with, and I like it a lot! I use it with clip studio paint, but ibis paint works with it too
Honestly I own XPpen deco 3(it comes it a wheel) , and I could not go back to a wheel less tablet. This tablet I'm sure its good and look so adorable and cute **heart eyes emoji** , but I got spoiled with Deco 3
I find most drawing tablets way to slippery/smooth. I've used paper like screen protectors and they are awesome, but dont last. Besides looing all cheap with taping a piece of paper over the surface....can you just sand it a little to rough it up?
I bought new Deco Mini 7 but I can notice pen rattling sound. It makes clicking sound when I lift the pen off the surface. Is this regular sound or something wrong with my pen?
I have a question, so like I bought the wacom intuos small w/o Bluetooth, but I also bought the Clip Studio Paint Pro Disc on Amazon, I wanna make sure I didn't just buy something that I couldve gotten for free? Or is the "pick one out of 3" only a trial?? I'm just curious :)
Xp Pen Deco Pro, Huion Hs611 or Huion H1161? Which one should I buy? I draw at home so I don’t care about portability I just want the best tablet long term, thanks!
Hey Brad, think you can do a review of paint tool sai 2 it came out around 2016 and not many People actually know of it if you have paint tool sai 1(original) you get a free upgrade to version 2 apparently its much better
Hey Brad, how do you get a visible cursor to work on an Samsung device? I have the Galaxy S10+ but the cursor doesn't show up and it ends up being kind of a guessing game.
0:18 isn't that what they sent it to you for? 9 years later after receiving the tablet. "Lets unbox this thing and then go test it out" The XP-Pen Deco Mini Ultra Display Tablet with Windows 12 operating system at the cost of $100 exists now.
Hi Brad, I'm not an artist and i want to buy a graphic tablet just for fun other then the difference in the active area would it better to buy this or the deco 01 v2 ? I compared the two tablets in xp pen website and i don't see any difference other then the active area. Thanks
