Suzuki describes its new-for-2024 GSX-S1000 GX as the 'Ultimate Sports Crossover' but does it deliver?
With a motor born from the legendary GSX-R1000 K5, a chassis derived from the sports touring GSX-S1000GT, and a new generation of electronics and semi-active suspension, it certainly appears to come up with the goods, on paper at least.
Chris Moss was the lucky fella to attend Suzuki's world press launch in Portugal, bringing us this extensive first review to find out if all that tech delivers in the real world.

When I changed the stock tires on my GSX S1000 GT to the Micheline Road 6's along with changing the rear from a stock 190/50/17 to a 190/55/17, it was a night and day difference! My next move is changing the chain and sprocket for more torque and flashing the bike to remove all restrictions... that should put it where it should be for me! I was excited when I first saw the GX BUT now after seeing it more and more, I prefer my GT. The GT in my opinion just looks a lot better! More aggressive looking and stylish.

can't discuss looks online do we? But to me there was a LOT of resonance in the steering wheel really annoying me just enough in each corner.

When changing to 190/55/17 tyres did this effect the speedometer or any other thing that calculated the rotation of the wheel?
@twotone3426
@twotone3426 9 месяцев назад
@@gerokatseros Nope. Japanese bike speedometers are typically set 7 kph (I'm Canadian) higher than actual speed. I didn't see any correction like some people claim. The bike leans into corners a lot more, making the twisties a lot more fun and fast.

The most pressing question want the answer to is - is it worth upgrading from GT to GX? Is suspension and comfort considerably better?

A good review. The Suzuki is an interesting bike. I think that Chris Moss summed it up well, you need time with it to bond with it.

Hello. Thank you for the video. I am 1.87 meters tall. Do you think this bike is small for me?

If this is a Sport tourer, then why isn't there a single word about the luggage, whether it's easy or not to open, easy or not to mount on the bike, whether it gets in the way of swinging your leg over the seat, etc. How much does it hold? Convoluted-looking external shape, but is the internal shape smooth and will it eventually be useable with bag liners? How about its waterproofing? Is it single-key, or does its key not match the ignition. And what about a top case? Same questions. Nice review of the engine, suspension and handling. But nothing about what the bike is intended to do. Carry one/two people, in comfort, with their belongings for a weekend or week.

Brilliant motor after a proper flash have the naked. Also have the XR for 2 up touring. These bikes with stock ecu are horrible euro 5 kills the performance and feel. My naked has a flash, pipe, and airbox work and it’s now perfect. I’m a buyer of this bike after the bugs are worked out first year. Power wise it’s pretty close in the real world to the 22’ XR a buddy has the GT version. The XR is a great bike but noisy motor still has some vibs and lacking low end grunt and character.

Me too and as a Kawasaki Ninja 1000sx owner I'd love Kawasaki to enter/reenter the game with a Ninja with electronic suspension and/or the Versys with the Ninja's engine and a chunck of weight off@@simonclare-fu7sx

"150 hp is NOT THAT much these days"... Yet, we all know that one crazy person who passes shoulder to shoulder on the inside of the bend with less than 100 HP. :D

£600 for the extra 20bhp to 150bhp, £500 for red paint for the calipers, £1100 for the boxes...Kaaatching

The bike comes with 150bhp as standard, what's the £600 for ? Unless you have shed loads of money I can't imagine why anybody would pay an extra £500 for red calipers. Agreed the extra £1100 for the panniers is a bit steep. I would add the centre stand and a set of heated grips.

This is a good machine, however, it costs approximately $18.5K in the USA. At that price (IMO - me, myself, and I) do ya cough up another $2K to $3K and get the BMW S1000XR ?!? - If it was priced at $16K, it would be another story@@alanhedley8622

@@alanhedley8622 all K5 bikes outwith the Gixer and the '950' are only 130bhp on the dyno(source, Moore Mafia channel), cost £600 to uncork all, including the '950'!

@@williamrae9954 I've had one of the new Katanas and now have a GSX S1000GT, I'm more than happy with the power that the bike comes with. I would spend the £600 on heated grips and a centre stand I have the panniers.

@@alanhedley8622 good thing with Suzuki shifting 180.000 of those units,there's plenty uncorked header pipes knocking around,if you fancy that route(about drive off the bottom),a LexTek can, and get the local pipe bender to make a midsection!

lol... must be a hard life being an a$$hole... you're that guy that will watch CNN, MSNBC, FOX, etc. and take what you see and hear by one source as fact instead of thinking for yourself and seeking other opinions, points of views, information, etc. to have an informed mind...
