Hi Everyone - Bryan Johnson here. Hey Siim - congratulations on your recent pace of aging score. A few notes. The blueprint stack is built on population level evidence, not my personal needs. For your overall score of 3.8/5, I'm going to interpret that as 5/5(!) given that everyone disagrees with everybody about anything health related. I appreciate you not being sensational. The Blueprint stack is a contender for the best in world. And as you mentioned, we publish third party lab tests and are eagerly learning. We're following the evidence and are working hard to get better. We're trying to make this journey to Don't Die easy for everyone.

Hi Bryan, I am Dr.Zeng, MD, PhD. a longevity medical practitioner, and I agree we put a lot of emphasize evidence based medicine but ignored compliance. There are too many ingredients to take at once, I strongly suggest focus on one-drink formulation, I like the idea of only takes one drink and one pill by Novos. I am recruiting people to join the rejuvenation. Olympics by my own protocol.

Wt about olive oil? Is it worth that much money?
@ChessMasterNate
@ChessMasterNate 24 дня назад
@@saishreyas5057 I don't think so. You can just buy the olive polyphenols extracted from the leaves instead. I am allergic, though. I can't have either. Lots of other polyphenols out there, though. I get auras without the migraine (silent migraine) if I take the olive leaf pill, or if I have nacho flavored popcorn salt. Practically makes me blind for a few hours, while I watch a color cycling fractal light display. Pretty scary first time. I had to Google for hours to figure it out. The vast majority of the time people see auras, they have a killer migraine that can be so intense they throw up. I guess I am lucky. Except for not knowing what the heck was happening. First time it happened in college. Went to the nurse. She kept asking what drugs I was taking. No. No drugs! Only after the second time did I deduce it was the nacho flavored salt on my popcorn. Half my diet was popcorn. A student government card allowed me to have unlimited popcorn, and I was there all day generally, so lots of popcorn. Never had enough green olive oil for that reaction. It feels like I am swallowing a mouth full of shattered fiberglass...so it never got that far. I can have the low end, yellow stuff. Probably little benefit from that. Mostly I use avocado oil, or flaxseed oil.

Siim neglected to mention that Astaxanthin extended mouse longevity in the NIH ITP trial, the only antioxidant ever to do so.
@henrikmadsen2176
@henrikmadsen2176 25 дней назад
Good point! And what about this - my personal speculation: Antioxidants once was the 'end all be all', but then they found that too much antioxidants (eg. beta-carotene, and vitamin E) is actually harmful. This led to the current belief that "balance" is the important thing. Why, then, would Astaxanthin be good for us - as Astaxanthin is a much more powerful antioxidant than vitamin E !!??

The issue with all these studies is the following: they examine a substance in isolation, whereas nutrition only works through synergy. It requires the combination of all elements to provide a biological benefit. What bothers me is that the majority of RU-vidrs either fall into the trap of repeating the same narrative, losing focus on the fact that a single ingredient can't go far..

General wish: I wish ALL health-content-creators could refrain from saying "The improvement is SIGNIFICANT". Do this instead - always: · Say HOW LARGE the increase/decrease was !! · And then maybe tell if that result was STATISTICALLY significant. · And then give a personal valuation of the result. [all too often "significant" is confused with "a lot"] That said ... I always press "like" to Siim's videos, even before watching hehe 🙂

The mix powder has also timing contradictions for some ingredients that increase energy taken with some that are best taken at night for relaxation benefits which in the daytime can make some people sleepy when they need energy. Interestingly there is absence of Omega 3 fish oil or even a vegan algae based one since he is vegan.

@2BWiley2 26 дней назад
I'd be concerned about many of those in a powder form from a bioavailability standpoint. Most of the research I've read dealing with bioavailability suggest ingredients like CA-AKG, Glutathione, and even Vitamin C, etc., are pretty much wasted once they hit the gut. On the other hand, liposomal forms of AKG, Glutathione - and even vitamin C - all seem to promise far higher biovailability. Also, looking at quantities, seems like at least Creatine Monohydrate and Glycine quantities need to be boosted if targeting populations over 50 yrs old (either that, or older users should be advised to supplement additionally). And as long as Glycine powder is being used, perhaps an equal dose of NAC powder (smell/taste notwithstanding) to aid glutathione synthesis vs. easily degraded glutathione powder? Nice sounding ingredients, just would be concerned about product efficacy from a bioavailability and dosage standpoint - so for me, I'm going to continue purchasing ingredients individually so I can dose more effectively and insure maximized bioavailability. Cheaper in the long run to purchase ingredients individually as well...

@2BWiley2 25 дней назад
@@nilsobach2659 I’m sorry, I’m not clear what you mean by “blueprint or AG1”. Overall, however, I purchase supplements on an individual basis from different manufacturers only after reading the PubMed or other peer reviewed studies - never on what an influencer or mainstream article recommends. I do, however, follow multiple influencers because informed folks like Siim here are often excellent sources for identifying the latest published research - but I go read that research myself (including any supporting research into bioavailability) before making product purchase decisions. Because I take several dozen supplements daily, my specific purchase decisions are always then based on a combination the following factors; (1) most bioavailable form, (2) manufactured at a Certified GMP facility, (3) third-party lab tested for quality/purity assurance, and (4) lowest price. When it comes to liposomal products, I’m not aware of any “all in one” liposomal products (maybe I just haven’t come across them). You can usually identify liposomal products because most often they are packaged in gel-caps (given their liposomal nature). Hope that helps.

@@graiden Without being able to recall or cite any specifics, everything I’ve ever read about arginine-AKG lead me to dismiss it as a “longevity/wellness” supplement. My understanding of AAKG is that it is intended to function more as a boost to NO2 production (blood flow), and muscle protein synthesis. Those both have their place in overall wellness, but to my understanding there isn’t yet any research with AAKG suggesting a longevity benefit. I take so many other supplements I have to draw the line somewhere and thus don’t personally take AAKG, and so I haven’t looked for research into how bioavailable it is.

Why does Bryan use "ASCORBIC ACID" instead of natural source of vitamin C ?? (Dr. Steen Ekberg has an excellent video on the difference) And why does Bryan use Magnesium CITRATE ?? Everyone else seem to agree that other form are much better (glycinate, or threonate, etc. etc.)

Ashwaganda has a nasty side effect if taken long term -> anhedonia aka emotional numbness. Not a fan at all of this herb. Lots of feedback online stating Ashwaganda is worse the SSRIs in terms of anhedonia!!

You should take into consideration that this supplement stack is ment to be paired with his Super Veggie and Nutty putting which might make up for some of the nutrients that you mentioned are underdosed, like magnesium. Additional to the stack he also takes 25g of collagen powder, which is high in glycine and also 1800mg more of NAC. Also an additional 450mg of NR (or 500mg of NMN) and 2,4g of kyolic garlic.

Taking that many supplements might reduce your lifespan, but there are unlimited possible negative interactions between them. This nonsense has to stop already, and we should start investing in real interventions that might cure aging

The big question I always have is: Does a healthy person who eats a balanced and healthy diet need to take ANY supplements? What is the point if you're not deficient? Would love to see a video on this topic.
@HoobaBros
@HoobaBros 25 дней назад
depends on your goals. Do you Need to take anything, if you eat healthy, and are happy with the life you will have, and how old you will become? No, but you do need to take supplements if your goal is to reach even more optimal health, and you're testing everything to make sure that it's still useful. 99% of the population doesn't care enough to Need to do those things, some are even happy with becoming 50 years old and having lived a relatively happy and pain-free life, so it all depends on the person and what outcomes they want.

Bryan's dosage would be even more below the optimal dose I mentioned in my creatine video. The 100 mg/kg/day appears to be the optimal dose but 2-3 grams is already effective although less so

@@NewDarkKnight yep supplements are overrated, they are here to optimize your health. If you don't have the 3 great pillars already (sleep/nutrition/sport) they are a waste of money. They get more interesting the older you get though and that's why Siim doesn't need much, he is still young compared to Dave pascoe or Bryan Johnson
