There was one bag tjay caught my eye. Virginie isn’t my fav so I was like ehh this will suck! Then the first model with that BIG hair came out….and I was like hmmm 🤔 ok!!
Dacob I just want to say you are good at what you do, RU-vid & livestreams 👍🏻 your commentary is always entertaining and interesting. I love the effort you put into your makeup and styling for each new livestream.
Liked nothing but the hair and seeing the models names on the screen. Nice to introduce them for once. Looking forward to the bag review and your fave looks.
I was ten in 1980 and I still have my Molly Ringwald Bob! I remember in the early 80s watching Style with Elsa Klench! And this brought me back to being that little girl in love with Paulina and Claudia etc, and Chanel and more at age ten! Wow this did bring me back! And now I will be growing my hair or getting a darn weave ! This was def better than I thought!
wow, Virginie actually did something for me in this one! I'm shocked at how much I like the show in full. nothing really stood out to me as a full miss or as incohesive, nothing distracted from the flow of the show. there's definitely a good amount of inspiration I can see myself taking from this one.
I don’t know if it’s been mentioned, but two of the songs are from Basic Instinct- right on the mark for the era that inspired the collection. I think the clothes are very good. It’s nice to see the energy, glam, and creativity of the 1980 reinterpreted.
It's insane to think how a great haircut can give a fresh vibe to a really quite pedestrian collection. I cannot help but to think about the LA collection Karl did in 2007. I still got a lot of pieces from that collection. I was in my late 20's when I bought those pieces and I'm going to my mid 40's and I can still wear them. There were jumpsuits in that collection too. This is very fun but I think the only piece I really love is the second look. That swimsuit is to die for. I love the cut of the jumpsuits but I can't pay the prices of Chanel jumpsuits today. I would rather wear my older ones. I must say that the strength of this collection is really the beauty. There's a vibe. You want to be that woman even if you don't want to wear or own her clothes. This is maybe the first time I got this feeling from Virginie. That is very refreshing.
I love these videos - thanks. And god I loved the hair too! Amazing. The clothes I didn’t mind as I love the cheap 80s but I don’t know why you wouldn’t just buy the cheap versions rather than these pieces as they will never look anything other than cheap. The fit is never good with Virginie. Just don’t know why you would. ( I checked out Chanel again out of curiosity and saw they have caviar classic flaps again for the first time in how long? Last time I saw a ‘caviar’ in Chanel was the tiny bucket bag last season and it was soft as felt nothing like old school hard wearing caviar so curious. But not going there and not going there for this either.) thanks dacob your runways are so fun!
You mean Dalì 😉 he did the melting stuff in paintings 😉 Modigliani did the unfortunate looking portraits of unhappy looking people and skinny sick looking statues. 🤣💖
Oh cavolo you’re right!!it was Dalì!!! I’m a bit confused…even though all those modigliani’s women with long necks kinda remind of that bag…it’s a weird style, even if you are 6,5 ft tall it’s still a weird fitting…i liked much more the edgy metallic fanny pack/belt bag, so tacky it’s fun. Un abbraccio caro😘
I was not impressed! Clothes are so so! The models are like zombies!!! They should have have the models have some personality like the supermodels of the 80’s! Maybe then the clothes would have some life! Great video
Agreed on the clothes! I am one that the person wearing the clothes gives life to the garment! That is why some 80’s models were great! Naomi, Yasmeen G, the chameleon Linda Evangelista, I can name so many! I am definitely from that era! But agree that some of the fashion on the runway was super cute! Actually very everyday wearable! Great to hear from you! Have a great weekend
Was this an ode to Catherine Tramell? The first song is from the opening of Basic Instinct and the dance tune was also from the film from the club scene. Check it it out. The collection was underwhelming. At best.
Absolutely loved all the show, and hair that was beautiful the show was entertaining. But i do not like 80’s. Its not my vive. Although i did like a few pieces, but not the colors, and i dont see longevity in it. At this time i am not interested. I didnt have that Chanelesque feeling. And i do like Barbie core, but not in that way😳 i mean if i am 20 yes probably, but now the barbie core has to have some elegance to it. And all those sequins, and metallics i dont like it . But you, looked fabulous 🙌 as usual makeup and hair so editorial , and i love your accessories, especially the earring 😍 Have a blessed day🙏💗
