How about CC's discography in time for their new album? Arguably the most consistent band in metal history.

Among the Living is the most consistent, but doesn't contain the variety of songs that Spreading the Disease does. I think Spreading the Disease is incredibly good, and the fact that all these different types of songs all belong on the same album was an amazing display of talent

Can mostly agree here, though State of Euphoria has some oddly happy moments that throw me off. My fav is Worship Music, surprisingly enough

Don't worry dude, you're not the only one who likes State Of Euphoria. This album is incredibly underrated in my opinion and it's in my top three Anthrax albums. I prefer it over persistence of time as well (still one their best albums though).

Probably the most fun band live out of the 4, not as big a fan of the studio material but live they bring it

I like state of euphoria. Be all end all, make me laugh, schism and finale are all killer tunes. It's my 3rd favourite anthrax album (spreading the disease is 2nd and among the living 1st).

personally, when it comes to Anthrax, im a Joey Belladonna fan, and i am so glad he is back in the band. Time has to be my favorite album, it's so fucking heavy, and pissed off, some songs sorta just turn in to riff salad, but im ok with that.

I love Anthrax and in my opinion, they don’t have a single bad album. Even their album “Volume 8” is a great album. Their discography is definitely interesting as well.

I don't care what people think about Worship Music but the song Judas Priest is one of my favorites songs, that chorus goes hard asf

I fucking love Anthrax, in my opinion, they are the most consistent band in the big four in terms of quality but the most inconsistent in terms of style, which is fuckin' awesome

Got The Time may sound like it doesn't fit on POT to you because it was originally recorded to be a single B-side track. They enjoyed it so much that they decided to throw it on.

Love Anthrax my top5. 5. Worship Music 4. State of Euphoria 3. Among The Living 2. Sound of White Noise #1. For All Kings = For a band to still be releasing music this strong after 30 plus years is pretty special imo, love every track!

That, or In flames. They have a fairly divided fan response on their more recent albums, so would be a good contrast/comparison model. Not to mention the clayman re-recorded album that everyone seemed to hate lol

Mid to late 90’s Anthrax is weak with Stomp 442 being pretty bad, but after listening to Vol. 8 I actually really like about half of it, but it’s too long. We’ve Come For You All is probably their most underrated, still not really strong overall, but the song Nobody Knows Anything is a certified banger with Charlie Benante killing it! Sound of White Noise - 4/5 Stomp 442 - 1/5 Vol. 8. - 2,5/5 WCFYA - 3/5

Spreading the Disease and Among the Living are great, I could honestly pass on the rest of their discog tbh. I actually really used to like Sound of White Noise and understand why people like it, but I hate when singers try to do that fake post-grunge yardle thing that John Bush does. And Bush was a good singer in Armored Saint!

So I have a weird relationship with this band. I saw them live with John Bush during Sound of White Noise era and walked out of their set. It was boring as fuck even tho I enjoyed that album. It was the last metal concert I went to until 20ish years later and seeing them open for Lamb of God (along with Deafheaven) ended up spring boarding me back into metal. Overall I think they are def the most underrated of the big 4 and the most consistent. I can put on any of their albums (expect the last two Bush era ones) and have fun with them.

Kinda fascinating to hear that after walking out of an Anthrax show, Deafheaven brought you back into metal 20 years later lol. No judgement at all though, they're one of my favourite bands honestly.

As much as I'm a Joey fanboy Dan Nelson was honestly probably the best anthrax vocalist.

Ah man its too bad you didn't really pick up the vibes of Catharsis and Crush on Vol 8. I'd put Catharsis up there with Only and Crush is a slapper. The rest of the album I tend to agree tonally / thematically doesn't seem to fit in the Anthrax catalogue as well (whether you want to call it butt rock, dad rock, hell yeah or whatever). I still ENJOYED the whole album - but I don't put it on when I want to hear thrash.

Very unpopular opinion here, but I personally never got the hype around Among the Living. Don't get me wrong folks, it's an amazing record, a true classic with many amazing songs on it. Still I think it does not even remotely live up to Spreading the Disease (Imo better songs, better performances especially vocals, better sound) . It actually took me a while till I could appreciate Among the Living because I bought it after Spreading and was a bit disappointed by it. Still both are absolute classics that I gladly revisit, so please don't come at me :D

01 spreading the disease 02 persistance of time 03 among the living 04 state of euphoria Dont care for any other anthrax album to be honest... loved em back then... but yeah, would have prefered hanging out wirh 86 slayer🤣 Let me explain When it came out, it was a huge disapointment really. Very boring, predictable.. the vocal melody very awkward always follows the guitar melody... Anti social is crap as anarchy in the uk.. so, when month later scott ian himself said the band doesnt like the album because it is rushed, they didnt have enough time in between touring to finalize the Songs to do it right... that explained the issues we had with it.. so its not a totally bad Album for me, but i dont go back very often to it. Its just weaker as every other album obviously
