You are the reason why I felt confident enough to start waxing at home. You’re videos are simple and straight to the point! Love your reviews and demonstration videos as well, have been a subscriber for a few months now and after watching this video I wanted to give you the praise you deserved! Thank you for making the content that you do, looking forward to future videos 💕
Thank you for this video! I've been a licensed cosmetologist working in a salon for years and I still occasionally have that new client that comes to me and acts as if they know more than I do. I don't care if someone asks questions, in fact, I encourage it and explain every service in detail before and during, but it really gets to me when they talk down to me or treat me as if I'm not doing it right or I'm using the wrong product because they read something on the internet. If all you needed was the internet or product reviews, they could preform the service on themselves instead of having a professional that went to school, trained and took multiple tests to become licensed.
I do my own Brazilians and I bought the Gigi wax when I was first gathering supplies and it was horrible. It hardens completely and you end up having it break when you pull. It was the worst, I use a different brand now and my pubes are doing much better
I use the film hard wax beans from amazon www.amazon.com/Wax-Necessities-Waxness-Beads-White/dp/B07KGLG1MP/ref=mp_s_a_1_2_sspa?crid=L2G62NUG6LY9&keywords=waxness+hard+wax&qid=1557274716&s=gateway&sprefix=waxieness&sr=8-2-spons&psc=1
omg same! I used the all purpose honey hard wax for my arms and it was breaking off and I just assumed maybe all hard wax is like that, so I'm actually glad I found this video!
OMG... I fluffing love you! You are the best. I love your rants! BTW I got my first Brazilian 6 weeks ago and am definitely a fan of hair free living and since I was born Sasquatch-ian I bought a professional kit and watched a few of your videos and followed your instructions and can now say I am happily free of all body hair and hooked! Thank you for your content!
@@hissnkittenwaxing I know this is old but can you use the Gigi warmer with the starpil wax? I'd like to try it but I don't want to buy a new warmer. 😞
I do my own Brazilian waxing at home because I did a waxing course before with just the basic steps in waxing and tried the GiGi twice and it caused minor blisters. I switched to Satin Smooth hard wax and it turned out much better with no irritation. Was looking at some of your mermaid wax reviews and will definitely give it a try. ❤️
You've encouraged me to buy Starpil wax! Best thing I've done, especially the hard wax being available in pink is a PLUS. It's easy to use and I'm happy to say my clients(African etc) feedback is it's less painful than the previous wax. Thank you!
Just finished my first and last time of this Gigi wax. I have waxed myself five times, bikini and underarm and one leg (lol it hurt to much so I stopped) but I just wanna say THANK YOU!!!!!! I have literally learned technique to wax myself at home confidently while watching ALL your videos!! Thank you thank you. I will do my research on other waxes!
I have been using GiGi wax for the last 9 years just because my local beauty supply had limited variety but I always knew there had to be better out there. You have definitely converted me to Starpil and hard wax for that matter!!!
Omg I can't even read the product reviews on Amazon because its so frustrating! Complete amateurs openly talking about misusing products then basing their rating on their ineptitude 🤦♀️ I agree about the Gigi Brazilian wax being crap, but I'm actually trying out the all purpose honee soft wax right now and I'm undecided about that one. I am newly licensed and am still learning so I prefer to watch real professionals like yourself using products the right way and reviewing it. People don't understand that there's just so much that goes into waxing and there are so many different kinds of waxes to choose from. Just because the label says its good for certain types of waxing doesn't mean it actually is and you have to know what qualities to look for in a wax to determine where and how to use it. There are also lots of licensed estheticians out there who act like they know all there is to know about waxing and do it wrong. Thank you for properly educating people in the art of waxing! 😊
I'm a cosmetologist and have alot of experience waxing ..I've always used satin smooth wax which is good as a soft wax. But exactly what she says is true!!! I've always hated there hard wax, gets crunchy and doesn't come off smooth due to alcohol in it.i look fwd to trying products you recommend thanks alot for all the info!
I used to use that Gigi hard wax but I found better.. would you say their hard wax beads are crap too? I have been using them for the past month but I’m not sure if I’m a big fan… I will switch over to Starpil asap!
I am Brazilian, there are a lot of good brands for Brazilian wax in the USA market. Brazilian is just the name for this procedure. If the esthetician has a great product and specially a great technique that is all that matter for delivering a great waxing experience.
Omg I bought the Brazilian one last week and now I’m sick about it, BUT I have NOT even opened the box! So my question is if I were to buy the hard wax you’re recommending how do I heat it at home? I’m sure there is a video out there somewhere but I am so busy I don’t have time to watch all of them. If anyone reading this can help me I would be so appreciative! Also, what wax is used for really hard chin hair? 😟🤭😳😣😔
Did you ever make that comparison video? Could you add the link in a pinned comment or the description? I found Gigi hard wax to be the least painful of the few products I was able to get my hands on from local stores, so I would love to see a video comparing it to something better.
So I’m a licensed cosmetologist in California. I’ve been doing facial waxing for years but my salon uses Gigi brand. I actually have a ton of Gigi brand hard wax to play with before my upcoming waxing specialist class. I also have a Gigi brand warmer, because I am starting out on body waxing, should I purchase starpil along with their warmer or would it be better to wait?
So happy I followed my gut and decided to go to RU-vid first. I was just about to click confirm order on the Gigi’s Hard wax kit on Ulta! I love getting waxes but I just can’t afford to have them done professionally anymore! So I want to try doing it myself. I have no idea what I’m doing 😅
I wish I saw this before I bought the starter kit. I am not new to waxing but I had to stop going to my ethictian bc of quarantine so I had to do it myself bc my hairs were getting unruly. I have both the honee and brazilian and the brazilian hard wax was HORRIBLE. It's a good thing i did a patch test because it was so painful and the wax was really hard to remove. I did get all the wax tho but I did not enjoy that at all
This afternoon I just threw away a jar of Gigi's Honey Wax. I'm a solo esthetician but during my training we didn't spend much time on waxing so I decided to practice on my own. I find honey wax to be very messy and hard to clean. I'll be sticking to hard wax and maybe a creme soft wax going forward.
I have been wanting to ask you about table height and positioning when waxing. Do you ever sit when doing a brazilian? I hear many concerns for back issues and I'm newly licensed but middle aged (54) need to protect myself.!! Thanks
Put it on a hot plate or frying pan then, use the store receipts as strips. Let the wax and paper cool on your skin, then pull. It works, just takes longer to heat and not microwaveable.
I showed up to work today and they had replaced my previous hard wax with this crap and I was so confused. I’ve been playing with it on myself for about an hour and I wanna cry cuz I have a client coming in and i gotta use it on her 😭
I’m so happy I found your channel! I’ve had Brazilians before, but it unfortunately became too expensive so I’m looking to try this at home but wanted to research first. I’v watched other DIY videos on waxing, yours are the ones that I deemed trustworthy. I’m learning so much! Thank you! I was wondering if you had any recommendations regarding which wax warmer would be best for personal use?
What do you recommend for someone who doesn’t have a salon license to purchase things online? I get harder areas like Brazilian waxed professionally, but I do my own legs at home
I got a waxing kit by the GiGi brand and I have no idea how to use wax or wax myself. Just decided to randomly try and gave myself a massive bruise. And now I’m here
Oh man, I wish I watched this video before I bought the Gigi Creme Wax and Cooling Gel! I haven't used them yet, but I was about to start for my upper lip and chin. I chose the creme wax because I read this rave review on it from one of the fashion magazines. I can't remember which one, but it's one of the big ones that everyone knows. Anyway, the review included this product as one of the best for sensitive skin. Now I'm wondering if I should use it at all.
I love you I watched your channel EVERYDAY!!! Please keep educating us I want to learn all the important information bc I’m in school for this field! ❤️
I just subscribed to your channel. I am trying DIY wax at home because we really do not have options on island and with the lock down, it does not help it. What do you suggest for brazilian wax at home? We tried the hard beans and it seems to work good on my husband’s legs and arms for example. Which brand and type (color) bean do you suggest? Appreciate any help you can provide.
Where do you get starpil wax I’m just getting into esthetician’s school and I just saw this video and I was gonna go to Sally’s this weekend and pick up some things and a friend recommended gigi wax but now I’m rethinking getting it.
Thank youuuuuuu I bought that at Sally’s and I can’t get it to work for shit it cracks no matter what I do it took 45 mins to do a small Area and I’m very new to home waxing that’s why I’m looking for wax reviews rn cause I want to wax and I want to learn to do this
Hi, I was literally just about to buy the Gigi brazillian wax and the wax warmer, so glad I found your video and channel. Please can you tell me what is the best wax warmer pot to buy for hard wax please. this is just for my own personal use at home. thank you
Will the wax u use remove tiny hairs on the face? My facial hair is like about the length of a rice grain(maybe a tiny bit shorter). I wanted to try the wax u use
If this is too invasive of a question just ignore me lol but do you personally wax yourself? I see a lot of ppl do their own Brazilian’s and I’m curious to know the pro’s and cons.
Haha no problem. Yes I do. It took me a while before I tried. Now I'm just used to it so it doesn't bother me anymore. Honestly, I don't think there's any pro's to waxing yourself! It hurts, it's harder to pull since you are causing pain to yourself, it takes longer. I would much rather someone else wax me, I just don't have the time to go somewhere! So I do it myself lol. I recommend everyone to get it done professionally, unless you're like myself (a professional esthetician) and just don't have the time. I hope that helps!
HK Wax Center - Austin Arbor TY For getting back to me! Where I’m from there’s one place that does them but I know the girl, she just got out of cosmetology school and the course’s she took briefly touch’s each subject (hair, nails, makeup, waxing, etc) so I’m so scared to go lol I’ve been waxing my eyebrows and underarms at home for about 5 years and am no professional but would like to try my own bikini wax. I’m so glad I came across your channel! I just use Gigi honey wax from Sally’s and now know (from your videos) if I would have tried with cheap soft wax, It probably wouldn’t have went so well lol I know that you advice to go to a professional but TY for putting out educational video’s for us hardheaded do it yourselfer’s 😊
I know this was posted 3 years ago, but I bought this at the supply house when I was 19 Not knowing any better, and attempted my first down there wax with it... I threw it away the next day and said never again
I too didn’t get the names. (Was multitasking) 🤨 Mermaid wax is one she has mentioned in other videos. Will you please reply back with the hard wax brand you like to use?
Berodin, Cirepil, Miss Cire. I have a hard wax brand coming out called Mermaid Wax! But we are only launching hard wax at first, I've never been a fan of soft wax!
OMG ! That stuff breaks and gets stuck. I did my first self Brazilian with it . I do my own Brazilians because I have to do it every two weeks and it’s too expensive to pay every two weeks. Sadly , no salons near me use hard wax either . To think your client thought THAT crappy wax was the best musta been frustrating. Can’t wait to learn more about your new brand of wax 🤗
Hey there, I have watched all of your videos, I love them. This video is so true even when I was not an esthetician, I used to use this same brand, I hated it but had no Choice. I always had red bumps after I would wax my legs. My question to you is, I have my own salon and I recently started providing waxing services. I am only going to use hard wax, but I am confused in choosing the wax warmer. I am buying from starpil, don't know should I buy the dual pro one or should I buy which can hold 5lbs wax? I do not have lots of clients everyday so thoughy dual pro one would be better. What do you suggest?
Thank you. @@hissnkittenwaxing . I have already bought a smaller one. But i am having very hard time using Starpil Wax. before i used to use ceripil and it worked awesome.
I love your videos i just have a question what's the name of brand of the wax you are using i tried one that looks close to it but it was not that good it becomes solide in 2 minutes a lot of times befor even you get close to where you are going to apply it on it made me mad yours is not becoming solide as glass even when you remove it not like mine so pleaaaaaaase tell what kind of wax you are using its name or brand or something i am dying 😱😱😱 please help
I bought a hard wax called "Hot depilatory wax pearls 1kg vert". Can you please check it out and let me know if this is a legit wax or low quality? It was the most expensive I could find in my country.
I love your videos I’m learning a lot I have a question I’m waxing my self for the first time and I notice I get red kinda like red bumps is it normal or I’m doing something wrong ?
Ok so I used that gigi wax yesterday and It was breaking. I even applied it thicker and it was still breaking. And it was so painful. I should've watch this video befor
Hello I love your videos they are super helpful! I’m an esthetician myself and I was wondering if you have any opinions on Satin smooth hard wax or know anything about this brand of hard wax?
You handled it amazing! I love your channel. I legit need to come take a class with you! As soon as I graduate from school I would love to come to Austin!
HK Wax Center - Austin Arbor awe thank you!!! I would love to teach you makeup application for you!!! Seriously I will reach out once I’m out of school. I will pay for a class!!! I love waxing but I’m so bad.. can’t get my rhythm/ technique down. But I’m going to practice any time I can get someone in!!!
Best video on waxing. 💝 Thanks for educating us on it. & Well said: - We can hv a highest quality of wax but if not using it correctly, its not wax fault. - Dont listen to reviews, do searches/try on urself. - Also, you said correct about gigi wax which says its Brazilian etc etc. That gigi wax actually sucks.
That Gigi Brazilian wax is horribleeeeeee! I bought it awhile ago and finally used it recently and it gets so hard that it literally just breaks into pieces. I worked at European wax center for a little while so I know how to use hard wax and I saw the Gigi one at SalonCentric so I picked it up, of course knowing it wouldn’t be like European wax’s wax but I didn’t think it would be that awful. Idk how anyone can work with that stuff. Highly do NOT recommend!
So I was going through your videos to learn how to wax myself because I don't like shaving because it gives me more ingrown hairs than if I wax or use Nair but I really like waxing and Gigi was the only thing that's available to me right now with the pricing and what's going on in my life and tbh it sucks I just bought it and it literally sucks! But now imma have to wait a while before I can actually buy good wax and a warmer. Because gigi wax just isn't working for me I don't know if I'm not doing it right or it just really sucks
Hi there, sorry just getting time to reply, forgive me. I'll have them for sale actually. On my site www.mermaidwax.com -Should be available to ship in a couple weeks, almost done with manufacturing them. (I'm referring to the large stainless steel warmer)
I live on a very small island in the Caribbean with limited supply when it comes to specialty products😢. I've just finished studying cosmetology and we were taught using Gigi waxes, and honestly the beauty supplies here just started to sell it (previously i would've had to take my license to a professional outlet to get them but given that ive just completed the course and haven't received my license yet, I can't buy from them). So I just made an investment into my growing business and bought some waxing supplies but all the waxes i bought are gigi waxes😭 I love your videos but ordering better things onto the island may be very expensive😢 Could you maybe do a video to show the best way to work with gigi waxes?🥲
The very first time I received a Brazilian, they just used regular old Gigi honey SOFT wax on me! Yes, it was one of the most painful experiences of my life, but at least it got the job done 😂
Great I got the entire gigi kit for mom's day ugh. So I'm not putting it on my who ha now. I'll buy something else. I'm tired of shaving. I want it smooth longer. I mean I use this on eyebrows and lips on my friends no issues but not for brazilian wax.
