The victim blaming that went on in the last segment was infuriating! They described incidents of sexual harassment and sexual assault and then in the same breath were talking about "resisting temptation." There is so much wrong there that I can't fit into this comment section. You were spot on Lloyd. This shows how Jehovahs witnesses as a whole do not understand sexual harassment, sexual assault, rape, etc.

@@jonthehermit8082 exmos and ex JW’s are cousins! I had a wonderful download with an exmo Bishop last summer. He started doubting in 1981 and left in maybe 2016? He described a sexual abuse case that was being heard. There were about 17 of them and they were asked if anyone was a mandatory reporter. The 3 or 4 who raised their hands were immediately dismissed.

@@laviniasmith4403 the pope announced in 1986 the year of peace, the jw told us Armageddon is coming soon, I argued with my mom in 1989 how a 2000 year old book can prohibit blood transfusion, I ask in that same year to the lady giving us the study where in the bible God elected the jw in 1919 she smiled and said we have to accept that with faith, I ask my mom how the jw keep count of the 144,000 because supposedly there were like 3,000 left in 1989, again accept it with faith, the list is endless, I got out in 1996 but my mom is still in and is no use in talking about jw problems anymore

I was so confused when I was a part of it. My dad would tell me that Jehovah was a reader of hearts but then the org was saying you MUST be baptized to survive Armageddon. So which one is it? Trying to talk about it didn’t get me anywhere because they didn’t want to give me the flat out answer they believe or it would have scared me away, so they danced around it instead.

Asking that woman if she was married is a mild scenario of the Jehovah’s witnesses control and manipulations. I was in a “Shepherding call”, I, being the one needing shepherding. I was concerned about the funny way I was being treated, in the congregation. I told them, all of a sudden, I feel no one liked me, people stopped talking to me with a smile on their face and gave me the cold shoulder. That elder, in my living room, the same room I am in right now, directly to my face said “Your problem is. You need to shut your mouth, zip your lip, lock it and throw away the key”. While the other elder said “We know you Laura, it’s your way or the highway”. Talk about beating someone into submission. Ya, I was beat all right. So much pain!!!!! They kept taking pieces of me, as if I was not good the way I was. Ugggghhh!!!

I am no longer one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, but wha I learned, i learned from the Bible. For instance “Everlasting life and the “reserection”. I believe these things because they make sense. The reason why I left is “God is love” and there was. No love. Therefore, if there is no love God can not be there. Also, I have not been able to use the name Jehovah in my prayers. I currently call on the name that God gave Himself YHWH.

I never felt comfortable redirecting, to “later”, the things I could not explain, at the door. I have so many messed up interactions, that have taken place since 1990. I was baptized in 1994. One funny thing is, I was baptized an a Saturday, as traditionally done, 4/4/1994, was the date. 4/4/1994 was not a Saturday, it was a Monday, and is on my record as such, but it is incorrect. Lastly, I no longer have a tribe. This is the first video of yours, that I have watched. So, I don’t know if you know how painful and lonely it is to be an ex Jehovah’s Witness. I had a family, 5 children, a husband, mother sisters, a half brother, nieces and nephews, some I have never met, 5 grandchildren of which 3 I have never met, nor do I know their names. I have been excluded from weddings, births, deaths, graduations, showers, gatherings of any kind. I’ve been on and emergency room table, as close to dead, as I have ever reached, self inflicted of course. I took 220 semi harmful head meds. My family told me I was crazy, until I believed it. Currently, I sit in my living 1 bedroom apartment alone, with no where to go, nothing to do, no one to see, no family, no religion, no tribe and with so much to say. All I truly know is, YHWH displays His love for me, in ways only I can see. All the above mentioned dysfunctions, are a result of the freedom to choose. I was not born into this way of life. I chose it and forced it onto others, that wanted nothing to do with it or me. I will no longer use the name of Gos translated into English. I now use the name He gave to Himself, YHWH. What happened to me will take a lifetime to recover from, but there went my life. My thoughts are that the most powerful being in the universe, YHWH, is going to prove His power by righting all wrongs, as only He can do. Where do I find a tribe that Love God, YHWH, as much as I do. I could not ever be an atheist. I am far to grateful to YHWH for being my only friend. The things He has done for me, could not have been done by anyone else.

I’m confused, if the governing body represent the anointed and gods channel of communication and run things and it’s what they say, what is the point of having Ciranko as the president? And is he even anointed? So doesn’t that make him lower than the governing body if he isn’t? And if he is anointed, does this mean Rutherford was anointed and Jesus chose Rutherford and Ciranko and all the other presidents before him as well? So many questions lol

I’ve noticed for a while now that every they “quote” Matt. 28:19, they cut off the scripture. The reason being is if they quote the entire passage, it contradicts their baptism ?’s by 10 folds, & throughout the book of Acts, the baptisms were in name of Jesus. (Acts 2:38, Acts 10:48, Acts 8:14-17, Acts 19:5) However, their ‘bible study aid’ “Bearing Thorough Witness” doesn’t discuss this, & skate around by partially quoting these scriptures.

when we all woke up. We burried all the JW books and bound volumes and planted a pine tree on top. the Tree is growing just fine, looks like there is a good use for there books after all. (was my Dads idea)

Just a thought, the man singing the song to the black and white video has a nice voice and is most likely a JW maybe a Bethalite but he will not be able to pursue a career in music and reach his full potential. There are many talented and even gifted musicians, artists, dancers , swimmers , sportsmen and women and such like who are JWs but who are only encouraged to put spiritual matters first in their lives and are told not to follow worldly desires and selfish pleasures. In my opinion it’s such a waste of potential that these people often end up in menial jobs when they could make something of themselves.

The new book wording is interesting 'enjoy life forever' it sounds like in present tense (Enjoy life (now) - forever) and as Robert indicated it includes about how to live well now. This for me is a shift from Watchtower and I can see this becoming more emphasised drip fed as we progress over the next few years and decades. A shift to becoming more a lifestyle cult, one that will start getting members to live the life we want to see in a paradise earth, maybe more emphasis on our earths issues, recycling etc and looking after the planet to give followers something to do as it becomes obvious Armageddon is not round the corner. The shift will or at least should be towards living like what we are expecting paradise to be like, sort of slowly making the paradise a reality, maybe even changing doctrine to show that rather than outright Armageddon it will be a phased approach, with witnesses first having to also physically endeavouring to live the JW paradise life as well as morals. The reality is paradise would need an infrastructure and this should be part of preparation now. Watchtower could also then supply products that are environmentally sound to JW's and thus completing the MLM and cult mentality merge. Sounds daft but I think things maybe slowly moving that way at least in part and for me the only real way watchtower can carry on when the overlapping generations fails. They need to adjust the business model slowly now .....maybe this wording on the new book is an indication of a future organisation path 🤔

I'm a little surprised you didn't consider the situation happening with the guy on My Teen Life to be "sexual harassment"... He was literally grabbed by his limbs and forced to touch a girl in a sexual way. I'm not trying to make a big deal but we already have issues with male sexual assault being downplayed so to hear you consider only the girls situation to be sexual harassment was frustrating. Especially because the male described such a physical and potentially violent situation that was on the same level if not worse than the females incidents.

Hi! Thanks so much for your input. To be fair, I didn't preclude the gentleman's experience as being a case of sexual harassment. I simply chose to focus on the lady's experience, particularly given the guidance she received and advocated in response. Rather than dwell on every permutation of every word, for the sake of time I try to keep things as brief and simple as possible. But you are absolutely correct in your observation and I thank you for making it.
