I do enjoy these no nonsense vlogs. Getting around the kitchen, seeing the chefs at work, and a description of the surroundings without the waffle that others have tried and failed miserably. Well played Latif and hope to see some more as I'm sure you'll be getting invitations.
Ma Sha Allah! Beautiful food review! All Middle Eastern food is a treat in itself! Salaams from 🇺🇸 my fellow Sylheti brother, keep on posting new videos!
Wow, all I can see is delicious food in front my eyes. Looking at the food has made my mouth water and my stomach rumble!! 🤣🤣🤣 Great share & stay connected.
Decor is beautiful and rustic with a modern feel too. A lot of thought has gone into the ambiance. Next time you're in Glasgow check out the Hanoi Bike Shop, a little Vietnamese restaurant down a lane off Byres Road. My favourite go-to place for the past few years.
Subhaanallah massive fan of you bro Been following you for quite a while your amazing appearance style cooking and restaurant is amazing and along with presentation of uk restaurants..subhaanallah love you may Allah give you amazing success Ameen
I've eaten at their Exeter branch. Visually stunning, but more style over substance for me. I had the kebab platter. It was OK, but nothing special. I should have had the meze, by the look of it. I love halloumi. Drinks were nice. Looked as if you enjoyed it on the whole. Nice to see an honest review.
Haven't been to that restaurant or its other branches but I see your point on the kebab. It's almostike all the big fancy middle Eastern restaurants put their efforts in the meze and all the side dishes but don't really deliver with kebab and the like of main courses. The only exception are the Iraqi restaurants which offer amazing kebab. Even in the middle East, those main courses are way tastier when offered by smaller restaurants. The best would be to find a butcher who has a barbecue and a small area for two or three tables, and you skip all the starters and just focus on the kebab coming hot from a barbecue across the table.
I think our Bangladeshi palette is used to eating hot spicy foods! I’ve had the same experience with Arabian food, the execution is top notch but the flavors are simple The kebabs are made with fresh meats ,so you can taste the freshness!! No ‘mod’ 😂😂
This is it! I went to a Turkish grill house but I was a bit underwhelmed with the lack of spice and flavour. I was just tasting a lot of the meat for once and It was odd for me haha
The deserts are probably brought in, but I had a nice breakfast at the Gatwick Comptoir Libanais before a long flight, it saved me from the inflight meal ;)
I love Lebanese food, it has so much richness, but it's easy on the heat, so it feels a world away from some of the things I usually cook. There's also an amazing Korean in the area that I adore. My working hypothesis is that all nations have some beautiful culinary traditions, but these evolve over time, so even in our lifetime we may enjoy wonderful new dishes.
It looked wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!! I had no knowledge Lebanese food was so delicious-looking! I'll have to spread my sights beyond the Ibdian kitchen! Thank you SO MUCH Chef Latif!!
Beautiful decor da surroundings da scenery da beautiful flower arrangements da table settings soo good which takes da breath away wow I wish I could get der to dig in da mouth watering an tantalizing menu 🙏❤👍
@ Latif, love your recipes. I do have a question. The pans you use, are they all aluminium or are the larger pots steel? All my elders have always used aluminium so I wonder if you could share your thoughts on if aluminium pots both large and small are better for Asian food. I've looked online and not many come with lids, do you just get the standard seperate glass lids? Thanks 🙂
Nice video mate all looked good but agree with the baklava! There is not many places that serve it as it should My misses makes baklava and the stuff is dripping and crispy sweet , it’s a proper belly gainer 😂 Baklava is quite labour intensive so most are bought in pre done
Someone get him a thesaurus!!! Lets see if we can teach him FOUR new words for FANTASTIC!! :) alternatively every time he says "fantastic" pause the video and down a shot!!! Then tell me if you can still see straight after 1 minute and 20 seconds :)
Love your channel and have cooked a lot of your dishes. I think it's pronounced 'Comp - twah' not 'Comp-tor' due to the French influence. Great restaurants too!!
I’ve eaten here and we loved it! Also pls visit and review Lily’s restaurant in Manchester, Ashton-Under-Lyne. It’s decir is amazing and the food is delicious! I’d love to hear your opinion.
Bro how you gonna review Comptoir like it's the food of their people lol. It's a mainstream chain restaurant. That's like reviewing Nando's for portuguese food! Don't get me wrong the food is good but you should have gone to an independent lebanese restaurant if you want the propa experience.
Yes. I just fancied something different as some of my subscribers requested the restaurant and it looked so pretty. But as a chef independent restaurants are my thing. Your right ❤️
He was not impressed because he is a world class chef who is trained to cook Lebanese food - oh no hold on he is a dirty sehlyti who runs a smelly restaurant which serves crap food
@@Heymanputhisfingersinmetoooah those are your words, no where was that implied, It’s a franchised themed restaurant so the authenticity is the question here not the chefs skills who may well be fantastic.
Please please please can you show how to do a Ceylonese curry (chicken tikka) - would really love to learn that one!! All the best to you and yours, Vicki from Scotland 😊
Mouth waters every time I see this video! Yummy! Definitely better portion, variety and sitting down restaurant service compared to the London Westfield one.
Thanks Chef, you can make an argument the UK is probably world leading in providing homes for Indian and Middle Eastern food.As an expat Sth Londoner living in Edmonton Canada you really dont get this standard and level of expertise here.
Nice one lat. Hope you're all good bro 🙏.....looks like my mannor....I'm in Stockport....(if your not down, brov, give it a go you know. )...big respect 🙏 🫡.......decent scran......
