Thank you so much for including Stravagante! in your overview. I'm especially touched by your comments on the map, seeing as it was you who inspired me to include it and adopt that style in the first place :) Would love to play it with you at some point, if possible. Also really fun to learn the game has already inspired another creator (I had no idea! Oops!)

One page TTRPGs are like the old arcade games of the 80's and the retro clones of the 2k's. They're easy to learn and fun to play in a quick session on work breaks.

I'm so glad, thank you so much for including THOME! Which was heavily inspired by Stavagante! I love it, and I hope you have a lot of funnn❤ Love your videos and your art style btw!

To clarify, in Death Bringer, ALL characters have access to the Death Bringer dice. What the little blurb means is that, instead of having each class have a list of specific features and moves, etc, you have access to the DB dice to fuel the type of actions that your character would perform. Also, got myself Down We Go. Thank you!

Holy moly, I am IMPRESSED at how much Stravagente! packs into its size and page count. The Toll of Battle rule is also very clever. Will have to look at that, myself.

I am really impressed by Down We Go! The Author turned this simple One Page RPG into a 72 Pages long book! With lots of Dungeons, Monsters, Loot, places to explore and so on! That's just awesome. Thanks for letting me know this game existed!

JP, can I just say: thank God for you! I've spent the past couple of months trying to write some free adventures to go out to newsletter-subscribers, but was getting so bogged down in minutiae that I just couldn't see an end to it all. But then I remembered the video you did a few months ago about some of your favourite zines, and suddenly everything clicked--I reduced everything to pamphlet size, and am nearly finished! And then, as if by psychic connection, you show us this! Fantastic video, chap. I'm so grateful to you :)

Lasers & Feelings is a great on page RPG to do Star Trek / Galaxy Quest type games.

I am working on some One Page Dungeons in an Ultima III inspired Retro Style and it's really fun. These Dungeons are very nice to just plug into your game as a side Quest or if you like them you can built upon them and turn them into a full-length adventure. Thank you for showing some of these great Projects it's really inspiring

As much as I love having multiple volumes of rules for every possible outcome of every possible circumstance, I really admire 1-page TTRPGs for their ability to reduce the rules to a bare minimum in order to encourage creativity and get players having fun fast! I played a session of Lasers & Feelings a few months back, and the ability of the game to get through an entire story arc in just a couple hours left me astounded! The same story would have taken at least four or five full sessions in 5e, not to mention character creation. I like some crunch, and I love tactical combat, but these little mini-games should not be overlooked! 16:07

Yes! Lets put the Role(not roll) playing back into RPG. Currently I am playing either rules light (EZD6) or rules medium (Dragonbane). Thome looks really interesting. I will check it out.

Thanks for sharing these, they looked great and I picked them up. Love playing one page RPGs when we are between campaigns or for a night at the local game tavern. I’ve played some of Grant Howitt’s one pagers and have enjoyed them thoroughly. Would love to hear what you picked up at GenCon.

....but, but Gloomhaven....LOL. Actually, I really enjoy the minimal one-page TTRPG concept. This is an expression of the concept of less is more when it comes to fun.

These seem a great way to introduce newbies to TTRPG by tickling the curiosity to try more intricate games. Also ... the worker bees trying to keep up a game night but work is making schedules tough to meet up, or family game night with hectic schedules that keep messing up The Plan, are other good uses for these. Crazy seasons of life don't mean you can't still have fun, but sometimes require modification >g

no, I want a game that has depth and is a challenge to play. The depth of a game also shows the level or reward. If a 1st graders book is longer than the gaqme. it is a worthless waste of time and paper.

@@SageMasterRPG Someone doesn’t realize that challenge is different from long rulebooks. Challenge is a fight where you have use terrain effectively in a fight, make difficult decisions, or finding the right people to talk to.
@SageMasterRPG
@SageMasterRPG 10 месяцев назад
@@rovideo3771 And just like a two page RPG. lacking in so many ways. I mentioned two thing and you only talk about one. Challenge is about an RPG's ability to make you think. Depth is about the story and it's ability to get you invested into the game. You can only put so much in a couple pages, thus it is lacking structure for creating a challenge and depth.
@rovideo3771
@rovideo3771 10 месяцев назад
@@SageMasterRPG While I disagree with this view I can see why you feel this way. I personally feel it is easier to get into the story with less rules to slow things down. I can definitely see why some people would prefer a system with more rules. I’ve been running games for around a year now and it’s usually for new players. I find it makes the game really boring for everyone when there is a new player has little to no experience why can’t understand the rules. But when everyone can understand all the rules I can definitely see why one would choose a more complex system. At the end of the day, both are solutions to the same problem, getting people more interested in the game.
