@@OCRacing Well I mean, we have, just not in a polished rig like this :) My setup for the longest time for flight simming with rudder pedals was my pedals screwed onto a 2x4 sheet of plywood, then slots cut into the front of the plywood to roll the chair wheels into thus locking the whole thing down :)
Nice review. I bought one of these today, after having been out of stock for months. Still $250. I'm glad your negatives are things I couldn't care less about as I have plenty of room and plenty of physical strength to move this thing around. It looks awesome and I'm sure it's going to be great for the G29 I'm running. Thanks again for the review.
I bought 4 caster wheels from Screwfix Direct in the UK, they cost me £2.20 for all 4 ! It has transformed this bit of kit. You have to have it partially open so all 4 wheels are on the floor so it looks a bit like a Dalek but it makes it really easy to move around. The complaint about connections is something that doesn't bother me either. I have a USB on the front of my pc and the connector for the power supply sits neatly by the side of my pc. Once I have rolled the stand in place it takes me less than ten seconds to connect the two (yes I timed it). The Hardest part is putting the casters of my office chair in the tray which stops it moving, that takes 20 seconds :). I will say it can be a slightly tight fit through doors in the open position if like me one of the doors cant open fully because of furniture. I have to move mine from one room to another and before I put the wheels on my heart sank as I thought... no way every day. Now it really is ok, just get those wheels.
This is definitely the best option for me. Since I don't have a lot of space, but do want to get more serious about sim racing. Just purchased it today. My desk isn't sturdy or stable enough to attach a wheel to it. I think that the things that you consider as negatives on this product aren't things that will bother me.
That thing is awesome for the price. I built an extremely solid wooden one for less than $70. Handles the DD wheel with no problem just can’t move out of my room without taking apart, so the next level racing one is nice that you could fold up and move it if you really had to.
I have bought the DD stand from NLR and now have the seat addon. I think it's good upgrade path and works fine with the Fanatec V3 pedals. although I need to tighten the the screws every coouple of months when it's starting to flex. The DD stand does however has a screw at the end of the pedal tray which keeps it from flexing while I see a lot of flex in the video. The way you can fold this wheel looks really nice and was something I was missing before I dedicated enough space to use a full cockpit. Shame it doesn't have the wheels whicch the DD stand does have. I think the DD stand is better than this in the end. Anyway, nice review as always!
loosing my mind trying to get one of those in Europe since April... finally ordered one! The best part of this stand is that you can easily DIY the rest of the cockpit in the future and mount on the already drilled holes.
This seems like something to “upgrade” to. I currently have a next level fgt lite and it’s a pain to take out and put away, causing me to not use it much if at all. This seems like something that would be easier to pull out and set up compared to a folding chair, I’m going to have to look into getting one of these.
I have the WS 2.0 and have vnm load cell handbrake and h pattern shifter. There was a lot of flex using the handbrake. But It does the job and was drivable, when you pull on the handbrake your not looking at the flex induced on the rig. After buying the gt add-on I have moved the handbrake and shifter to the new shorter mount beside the seat and it is night and day difference.
Thanks for the review. I have this NLR Wheel Stand 2.0 and found that it works well with the 8nm GT DD Pro wheel base. However, it doesn’t hold the chair firmly enough for the CSL load cell brake pedal, which is firm. Maybe it’d work fine with a different load cell pedal or with modded CSL load cell.
@@fans3984 I decided to not use the load cell. The pedal was so firm that I found it unenjoyable. The problem was exasperated by the fact that the chair isn't held in place as well as I would like, although it is still better than a rig that doesn't have anything to hold the chair. My dislike with the load cell firmness may partly be because I'm getting up in the years and my leg strength isn't wat it used to be. I hope you enjoy the load cell setup more than me.
First of all, i love your reviews. So you said thrustmaster tlcm pedal would be fine. So i guess the stand with an office chair could take loadcell pressure of about 100kg. That would be really really awesome. If there was only a solution to stop the chair from swiveling...
I have a similar stand, and I regularly have to fold and unfold it, and plug the wheel, pedals and shifter in. Its not as bad of a hassle as you say, but I understand listing that as a concern.

Great review, major question for you, which chair is that that you’re using? And what recommendations do you have as far as chairs for this specific rug? Can you try the GT Omega DD-X Steering Wheel Stand with the extra DD-X Rear Seat Frame and a Seat? I really like your reviews, I heard it was the best cockpit in 2024 for the price and quality.
This is on my radar my current stand is really cheap and light i put a dd wheel on it upgrading my g29 and it gets thrown around by the dd base i have to ratchet strap it to my desk this is a must have especially having the chair cradle i need this
Thanks for this review. The issues you have would not be issues for me. But I would like to know if there were any issues assembling it. Issues like misaligned hole slots or holes that doesn't seem to take the screws well. Did you have those issues during the assembly?
A bit late but how strong was your dd set up to during your review? I suppose you weren't using the full 16nm the R16 has for the WS2.0. I might be wrong though LOL solid review mate!
I just found your channel and love it. I'm in the process of getting a wheel,shifter and all the goodies. What seat and hardware do you recommend to go with the stand. I want good stuff. I got a high end pc so I want to do it right
So, my question is... Between desk mounting and spending 250$ extra to get this, which one do u think makes more sense for someone who doesnt have that big of a budget. Great video overall just got this question.
Depends how happy you are with your desk setup! If you wish it was more stable & rigid, this would be great. If you think it does a good job, perhaps save up a lot more and purchase a full cockpit later down the road.

Great review! I love the 2.0 wheel stand. The issue I'm having is a 5 wheel seat that feels like a proper seat for it. Like you said a crappy chair will destroy your experience. What is your suggestion for a chair/office setup? I do have a great legitimat racing seat in a car I'm not doing anything with...anyway to possibly fit that to a 5 wheel stand?
This is why Im glad I went with a Secret Labs gaming chair. Its a bucket style seat thats really comfortable and its really high end. Perfect for this wheelstand before I have the money for the seat add-on.
thanks for the great review! im in the market for a wheelstand due to space constraints. I love the cradle on it as i use a gaming chair with wheels but unfortunately as u also mentioned it doesnt have wheels for easier storage. Do u think i should get the wheelstand DD as it comes with wheels, thus sacrificing the cradle on the wheelstand 2.0? (would probably have to use a chair without wheels or a belt to attach the chair to the wheelstand)
I bought the wheel stand 2.0 and my TH8A shifter is colliding with the Sparco Handbrake because the handbrake base is too fat. Where did you get the metal piece that extend the handbrake forward?
How is it as far as sturdy? I'm looking at either the DD stand or this one. Seems like this one is newer so maybe improvements have been made even over the DD stand because I saw the DD stand does still have flex
I saw another reviewer fold this up with all the wires still attached between the wheel and peddles etc. When you say youd have to unplug everything everytime, do you mean the wires just to the PC or Console?
Hey, nice review, binge watched a few of your videos today. I want to play some forza horizon 5, maybe dirt really 2 and some other games. I'll porbably go for the g29, pedals and shifter and likley use the shifter mod you made a video about. Anyways i am debating which stand to get, i am 6ft 6 whether that makes a difference, My options i've seen are; GT Omega classic £99 GT Omega Apex £119 out of stock Next Level foldable (silver foot deck) £144.99 Next Level stand dd/2.0 £79 Is there any options i consider? and which would be best for my height, thanks.
Great video. I've my old next level wheel stand and New csl dd 8nm and Need more base adjust. I really need folding but i can't understand if 2.0 Is compact as mine, on closes completely as a compass. In the video i see the stand not "full closed". Is that the maximum closure? Thanks in Advance
IF. And that’s a huge IF you can find the gt seat upgrade and I promise you that your not getting it at retail. I have only found one retailer with it and it was 650
I've never owned the Wheel Stand DD. However, from my experience, the 2.0 was able to withstand my direct-drive wheel along with being able to become compact and portable. So if you ask me, this is an upgrade from the wheel stand DD. Compared to the original stand, this is of course a huge upgrade.

Do you think the Wheel Stand 2.0 is better than the APEX Steering Wheel Stand, as the WS 2.0 is $100 more for me. Also, what are the dimensions of the stand when folded up as I am planning on putting it underneath my bed when I need too.
Sadly this was released a year after I got myself it's older brother. This seems like a step up in every single aspect except the price which is exactly the same, at least from the retailer I looked at. I guess it's time for a replacement since the folding thing is a gamechanger
BEWARE: this is very old. There are no drillings for wheels newer than Thrustmaster and Fanatec. Forget Moza. You WILL need modifications, wood, brackets and drilling. NL are too lazy to update it.
