Before the S-Class coupé, there were two generations of the CL Class. Before that, there were two generations of the Mercedes Coupe, and this video is about the C126 (500 SEC) from the 1980s.
This model was part of deAgostini's car collection series which, about 10 years ago, used to offer a 1/43 model along with an accompanying magazine telling you about the history of the car, and released periodically. This model was part of their Mercedes collection. Today, in most instances only the models are available to purchase on the net.

Very nice little replica, this cars were something special, "imo" I can't say the same for actual MBs and other modern cars, the elegance and presence that this cars had are beyond it's successors, today they can be faster, technologicaly improved or safer, but not as beautifully designed as the old ones. Cool review! :-)

Absolutely! Especially seeing a restored Benz from the 70s or 80s in mint condition these days on the streets really takes you back to a great era.

4:22 To supplement the information; Your'e showmodel is the first generation sec, with the plastic striped doorpanels. The "rims" are actually standard hubcap's. The 'Fuchs'- rims where an option for the first gen. ("81" - 85"). The 'Gullideckel'- rims where, beside hubcap's, the option for the second gen. (85" - 91").

Beautiful model! I bought one extra and had it modified into the "open air" version by Caruna (T-top roof)

Really a shame that there not much good quality 1/43 with opening doors, apart schabak. That would be a miracle if a brand released 1/43 concept cars like vision slr, and openings.

Yeah that's typical for 1/43. Although there are some other exceptions like Herpa's Ferraris with opening parts.
