I owned the exact same car for 2 years in the mid 90's. An absolute dream (still) and head-turner. I never should have sold it 😪. So thrilled to see it on your chanel and thanks for bringing over the soul this legend brings long 😊🤍. As always, great video 👍
The Audi Quattro, a genuine legend in the car world. The other thing I couldn't help but notice is the terrible state of those roads. Talk about pothole fest. The state of so many of the country's roads is a disgrace.
My Dad had one in the late 80’s, my mates thought I was the coolest with that parked on the drive! Made me want an Audi and have had many S and RS models, currently in a TTRS with the glorious 5 cylinder 😊
Wouldn’t have thought the Quattro was the most practical wedding car. Owned a (1986?) D reg bought as an ex dealer demo & ran it for just over a year & 30k very enjoyable miles. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
My dream car since I spotted one in 1981 aged 9, once stood by one for an hour in town just to hear it start up (no RU-vid instant info then!) Hired one for my 40th and met my Hero!
I had the priveledge of driving a really early NA Quattro for a bit and man, what a car. The engine was nothing to write home about (save for the sound, that was lovely), but everything else was perfect. And that AWD system really shines in the show.
Stunning stunning car in its best colour! I fell in love with these when I was at Primary school. I’d have one tomorrow, exactly where my love for Audi began. 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕👍👍👍🇬🇧
I had the exact same spec, the very car a certain J Clarkson drove when it was chosen for Performance Car of the Year back at the start of the 90’s, so an ex press fleet car. It never put a foot wrong in 10 yrs & I loved it. Bought for circa £30k sold for £15k. I never thought the brakes were poor but then it was the 90’s and was up there with the 911’s of the time but much more secure. It handled beautifully. I was never able to keep up (financially with a growing family) by buying fast Audis after that other than an early S6 estate. I now have a 335d estate and wish for a M3 Touring but think an Alpina B3 touring is better suited to my age and stage! By the way the pearlescent white colour on the Quattro is absolutely lovely, much better than the red. One thing though, what happened to the Audi rings on the doors - I’m sure they were standard issue…..?
Special car the audi quattro. What an honour to chauffeur this insane vehicle. Happy married life to camilla and her husband jack. God bless the their marriage
GR Yarris still has one of those sticks for the bonnet.😂😂 Try the brakes on a BMW S 1000rr bike that will pop your eyes!!🫣 Great wedding shots and lovely insight into some behind the scenes friendships that have made a positive difference to the channel and your life Joe.🎉🎉
Such an iconic car and to drive it makes you very lucky. I was a Ford boy growing up with Land Rover being a close second but Audi was defo 3rd in that list. I was lucky enough to drive my hero in an Escort Cosworth on single track roads at up to 80 mph but was driven in at nearly double that by the owner. I have driven most of the JLR range apart from the Jaguar cars but a Series 2 Defender was the highlight until the new Defender took that mantle. My sister turned up to her wedding in a MG TF with the roof down (Show off) and my new father in law threw me the keys to his A4 to drive to our wedding reception the pressure as it was my first drive in an Audi long before I had a blast in an SQ2. Amazing looking back at the power they had and nowadays a Mini JCW out powers those icons of the day.
Such a special car and such a special thing to do with it, such a rare sight on the roads today. I owned an 87 coupe Quattro (non-turbo) for a number of years and covered well over 100k enjoyable miles in it. I replaced it with a 93 S2 Coupe which had the 20V Turbo engine and was in my opinion a massively underrated car, the RS2 seems to get all of the glory but the S2 was very competent and characterful.
Love these cars yet never sold in Oz so your friend must have privately imported. Nostalgia for seeing a G reg on road as I was in Edinburgh for 12 months in 1990 and was a fan of greater choice in uk compared to Oz for anything EU built - great content Joe 👍👏 and old enough to get Atari reference 😎
In 1983, David Bowie released a new single called "Modern Love". It could well have served as a musical tribute to the Ur Audi Quattro, which was on sale at the time. For those who are old enough to remember: "Modern Love ... Gets me to the church on time."
I remember playing truant from school with teenage petrolhead friends to see Hannu Mikkola in his Quattro on the 1981 Lombard RAC Rally come through town.
I bought an A4 from a guy a few years ago. He was rebuilding 2 Audis. Both were on rotisseries in his garage. 1 was a Quattro coupe and the 2nd was a 200 Quattro Avant. I'd love to see how they were finished off. He was at the same stage with both of them building them side by side.
I was watching and thought that Joel should get a mention. Sure enough you did! Great vid about a car I drooled over magazines as much as my Penthouse black label!
Had one of these in period as a company car. It kept me with the brand now hanging my final hat with a C7 RS6 also about to add a Z4 m40i with a tune no more modern cars after that. I grew up on those fumes Joe and it hooked me for life…
35 scorching hot? We wear out jackets when it's 35 down here 😁 try 45 degrees mate! What a beautiful iconic car, pleasure to watch mate... any group B models you can drive for us ☺️☺️
