That crush death with Super/Hyper form in Sandopolis Act 2's Boss is actually only in the Sonic Origins' release of the game. In the original you could stand there no problem and defeat the boss in no time.
I got sonic origins plus on switch because I have surgeries coming up and the fact that this collection has sonic CD but now the fact you can play a story mode that combines all 4 games though sonic 3 and knuckles were originally 2 separate games but they went further out and the story mode is awesome. If they don't stop messing around I may be taking Mario RPG with me on switch
Once I saw J Jonah Jamison, i Disliked the Video and went back and selected the option to not recommend this channel ever again. I just can't escape from that overused clip.
Exploring is also my least favorite part of platformer games. Exploration is Phase 1 of a Sonic game. Most players never get to Phase 2 or Phase 3 of Sonic CD. Sonic CD has so much more going once you've finished the exploration phase, because once you get to experience the speed rush phase of the game...that's when it becomes transformative. Sonic CD is the *fastest* Classic Sonic by far.
Hey, you forgot to mention how Origins changed it so that Tails can go Super w/ the Chaos Emeralds in Sonic, and made it so that his original Super form is now his Hyper form.
0:25 he actually wasnt called mr. needlemouse, it was actually mr hedgehog, it was just badly translated back to english so it came out as needlemouse instead of hedgehog
As a kid I painstakingly hunted down all the chaos emeralds in sonic 1. I figured since you go super in sonic 2, the same thing happened in the prequel. Even 1 less emerald to obtain! (No internet at the time) I ended up thinking something was wrong with my game when he wouldn’t turn 😂
For a moment when you said "one other game has been able to take that title" I thought it must be Sonic Mania but apparently not since Sonic 3 is still your favorite Sonic game. (Where would you rank Mania next to these BTW?, I consider it a Classic Sonic game) My favorite Sonic's are 3K, Mania, and Generations (including Unleashed Project with some enhancements that make it feel somewhat close to a port of the daytime stages to PC).
@@SpiralShow Pretty similar for me. I love 3K and Mania, and Sonic 2's really good til Metropolis, while 1/CD fail to hold up as well with me. While it's not a Classic Sonic game, I also would hold Generations fairly close to Mania within the entire franchise. I feel it's better than Colors, despite Colors having more uniqueness thanks to the wisps; I just think level design is much better. Especially with its Unleashed Project mod (I only have PC).
BTW I'd also recommend for any Classic Sonic fan - the fangame, Triple Trouble 16 Bit. It's only like six zones but I've been playing it lately and it's very impressive!
By the way, good documentary. I actually learned something new. After all of these years, I never attempted to achieve Hyper Tails, furthermore, I had no idea that his form had a swarm of flickies like that.
When he said "first 4 mainline Sonic games", I thought he was talking about Sonic 4 and I got excited, but then I saw Sonic CD and I was like "Aww..." (Yes I know Sonic Adventure would have been the 4th, or maybe even Sonic 3D Blast, Sonic 4 came out much later.)
