If you got something from this review and decide you deserve a new vacuum (despite the suction being less than stellar), we'd greatly appreciate if you used our affiliate link! Thanks for your support 🙂 Vacuum Link: amzn.to/3UVksSn

Have you seen the DCV501HB? Cordless stick vac.

I agree 100% with everything you said. My experience exactly. I now use the m12 vacuum and it has a lot more suction, is way quieter (important to me because I work inside customers homes) and stacks and stores well. I think the Dewalt would be a great choice if they made it a little more powerful. I appreciate how you do follow up reviews after using a tool over a period of time. To me, that the most helpful type of tool video.

Its a great vacuum, used it for alot of construction site jobs. Only complaint is the lack of power but other than that it does pretty good.

Right, the suction is the worst part, but the part you'd think would be focused on most in a vacuum..

Thanks for the advice on shop vacs. I never even thought of a cordless option. I went with an old fashioned corded one.

I didn’t know they existed until a couple years ago! I have a small and a large corded units but this does come in handy for the portability aspect. -Alex

Project farm did the comparison and I made my choice. Also Dewalt's cordless hand vac is great on versatility and much better suction than my hand vac Rigid.

Yeah he does very thorough tests, I'd like to get a hand vac eventually.

Agreed. I havr mostly dewalt and husqvarna batteries, but think Milwaukee NAILED their flat toolbox design. It just disappears on the shelf, you can just stack things on it. The dewalt HAS to sit somewhere alone, and because its not flat, it has to take up much more space than you’d think.

I think you answered my question about power. I already have the Dewalt 20v max but was wondering if I would get more suction from a Eureka Whirlwind canister vacuum. Thumb up.

Yes... the Ryobi slays all other cordless shop vacs but you need extra batteries.

Thanks for taking the time to make the video and I appreciate your candor. Project Farm found the suction to be anemic but the battery lasted a *very* long time. Apparently it's an itty-bitty motor. I'm wondering if you've had a chance to test your theory of mating the MIlwaukee with the DeWalt battery using an adapter? I'm married to DeWalt and want a cordless Vac without having to buy a new battery technology suite. Or can you at make a logical guess if a DeWalt battery with adapter can fit on (in) the Milwaukee vacuum? Thanks again and keep up the good work.
@MasonDixonAcres
@MasonDixonAcres 2 года назад
I have not had a chance to test in unfortunately, I don't have any adapters. However, looking at the battery compartment on the Milwaukee unit, I would say you can get one of the thinner Dewalt batteries with an adapter in there. Definitely not any 60V batteries but I'd say up to a 5aH which would be plenty. They just came out with the power stack batteries which would be a great fit for something like that.
@jazbuilding
@jazbuilding 2 года назад
@@MasonDixonAcres I followed your advice and posted my own video of the adventure. The short answer is one adapter worked with the batteries up to 4ah, and another one didn't have the correct geometry. The adapter that didn't work held the DeWalt battery too low making it bottom out in the vacuum well, so it didn't electrically engage. Thanks again for the video and the candor. The Power Stack batteries apparently discharge faster (provide more current) than the traditional Li Ion batteries, and may give a bit of a suction boost to the vacuum.

Which pole saw and grease gun are you referring to?
@MasonDixonAcres
@MasonDixonAcres 2 года назад
Last year when I got this vacuum I got the cordless pole saw and grease gun at the same time. I reviewed the pole saw, it’s in the Tool Reviews playlist and also tagged in the video when I mentioned it. Probably will do one on the grease gun eventually as well

I figured out the problem! The hose was stopped up.. poor design as the ridges in hose obstruct trash as it continues to holding tank.

@@jeffreybarber4718 for me I found the power wasn’t strong enough but the new dewalt is good

I just don’t think it’s worth the price as tool only when it barely does it’s purpose. I’m begging dewalt to create a new shop vac but no they create overheating small impacts and tiny batteries.
@MasonDixonAcres
@MasonDixonAcres 2 года назад
I agree on the vacuum, but I think Milwaukee drills and their small impacts are the worst for getting hot. We use them at work and I nearly burn a hand when doing any hard drilling/driving
@cashisgreen6383
@cashisgreen6383 2 года назад
@@MasonDixonAcres Milwaukee tends to make them way too powerful, handy it’s size but when dewalt create atomic new one recently, yes small is great but when it doesn’t have space to breathe it’ll collect heat more often thus it’ll get worn easily with constant or heavy work. Dewalt been crazy about small batteries and smaller spaces but I need a shop vac and hardly anyone uses old batteries, that’s why I don’t understand ryobi. Everyone updated, while you’re fooling with a low power drill and battery that dies in seconds. Usually most people can work around with a cord but not always, sometimes you have to go cordless because not everywhere has power.
