I have such huge respect for the channels that stray away from all the paid sponsorships. It's just overwhelming that every single channel you watch will advertise some bs products.

Unfortunately RU-vid is paying out peanuts at the moment per view depending on the niche and seems to be getting worse so content creators have no choice but to add paid sponsors or affiliates to keep going.

Never knew cameraman was Gary’s son. Not gonna lie, whenever I see someone like Gary, knowing how great his relationship must be, with his son and his whole incredibly likeable, nice personality, always makes me wish I had a dad like this. All I got was anger and violence and even as a man, my dad is still kinda an angry monster. Always anger nothing else. I always knew it wasn’t my fault and there was nothing wrong with me but even now, I can’t understand why my dad was how he was. Of course, I’m not perfect and sometimes I think if I was, he’d have been different but then I look at the person he is and his personality and think it wouldn’t matter how I was, he is who he is and I just have to accept that. Although, if I’m honest, I’ve never felt like I am worth anything or special, apart from few friends I’ve had and past relationships but I got no love from parents and that really messes a person up. I often wish people like my parents, especially my father, either didn’t have children or get them adopted as babies. I guess maybe deep down my dad and others alike care but have too much anger issues But then I think, I can get incredibly angry sometimes and I can show love. Especially to those I love. I can deal with getting no love as a kid but can’t deal with how it’s shaped me as a person. Sorry for that but I just had to say it. Ps don’t worry I’m not depressed or anything juat when I think something important, sometimes I just have to say it.

100K is just the start, the Gary revolution has begun ! Cod and chips is no longer a cheap meal so getting it right is so important. The batter makes the meal, not too much ( drain off excess ) and crispy is essential
The subs from 100k to 1 Million is a lot easier than from 1k to 100k. Gary is onto a winner and everyone likes him. All he has to do is carry on doing exactly what he's doing and he will get to 1 million, maybe only in 1 more year. This guy has all the ingredients (a pun? yep).

Gary as I’ve said pretty much from the beginning you are the most honest, genuine and informative food blogger on RU-vid in my opinion. I use to like a couple of others but they’re more bombastic and louder than they use to be. You have stayed classy, and deliver your reviews with a friendly integrity. You’re a credit to RU-vid, a credit to yourself and to your family mate.

The premium they charge to eat in is ridiculous. £8.95 for a fish finger butty if you take away, but £17.50 if you eat in. Crazy. Congrats on the 100K!
Its London mate. Property prices are crazy, commercial rates, cost to employ servers, wait staff, etc. Takeaway foods doesnt require a lot of that, whereas eat in food does
Let me make a comparison: Where I live I pay about 1,50 € per can of beer in the supermarket but the same beer in a pub will set me back between 5-7 € and I think that it is fair if you keep in mind the exploding real estate prices in Vienna and the fast rising costs for energy and labour. You will need someone to serve it, get the used glass, wash it and so on, the same applies for restaurants.
The cost to have a shop in this location is the biggest factor. Limited seats mean they can’t have a cheapskate with a bag of £3 chips. It has to earn money to stay open - simple economics

I just want to shout out to my fellow Gary Eats subscribers - you are all awesome. We all credit Gary for his wholesomeness, but you guys all make it worthwhile too. I think I've only read two troll comments after maybe about 35-40 videos? That is very very rare in the land of RU-vid.
What to expect with prices in Mayfair. The menu on offer was excellent. The "dry" chips have sauces to go with them. The mushy peas mashed with fresh mint, seasoned, with a splash of Sarsons should be the way. The food and service: 9.5. Business rates: forget it! I wouldn't pay that much for a meal, fantastic that it was.

Hi Gary, late to this..... and again having to disconnect the "How Much?!!" alarm due to location. The scotch egg looked OK and I'll take your word for the quality. The prawns were a good size..... but that really should have been a tempura coating them, not chippy batter. Marie Rose is easy to make (even I can do it), so it was at best OK and nice idea but maybe a waste of goof materials. The Cod looked dry..... so if not, it wasn't fresh..... fresh Dod goes milky (get up closer to Lowestoft!), The chips weren't "the greatest"...the sauces, chip-shop curry... hmm, mushy peas not good, tartare sauce can be cheaper to make than to buy-in. £23.95 for so-so fish and chips? Not for me. Still, how the other half lives, eh?

Absolute legend Gary. Followed for a while, and many more years to come. Also Mayfair, potentially the most prententious part of London when it comes to food managed to even put together a good fish and chips. I'm so glad they served you what in my opinion is a FANTASTIC portion and not the dregs that you got in Harrods (which wasn't exactly kindly priced either). Sod the price, Mayfair is 40-60 quid a head guaranteed if you go out to eat, you accept that and it's very fair when you remember how much running a restaurant in Mayfair costs. I thought what you got charged was alright. Bloody spot on, Toffs. Also I never realised that was your son behind the camera. That has increased the wholesome energy of this channel tenfold, time spent between a son and a dad is truly a beautiful thing and I'd imagine he's trying the food too. I love going to eat with my Dad.

Rest should be internally white, no salt, ;eper or sauc on table.. Now to London may eat in resto facint ROH. Ecco have travlles half thge world eating foreiggn food. Some people (especially in Mayfair) have more money than they know what to do with. The cocktail sauce looks like Thousand Island. Cocktail sauce here for prawns is ketchup, horseradish and Worchester...Haddock Scotch egg - only in Mayfair? LOL, glad the chips were cooked in beef drippings (see misnomer in previous post). We prefer our chips/fries a bit on you dry side but crunchy. You are are real picky about your mushy peas (and tartar sauce is dead simple to make). Aren't there any chippies in Knightsbridge? Do you have halibut in the UK - it's our number one fish on the Pacific West Coast. And BTW - how do you not weigh 20 stone!?

One question I have though is do ever ask if the seafood is farmed or wild ? Here in the pacific northwest of America most seafood is wild caught. I’ve just come here after seeing your Rick Stein’s Fish and Chips review, which seemed like it boiled your blood a bit… and just the prawns alone (I am typing this before I see the mains arrive) it’s like night and day. They look gorgeous and make you not regret you pay the money.
I loved this review Gary. What a beautiful location. To be honest with you, given that it is in the heart of London I was expecting it to be more expensive. When I consider a recent visit to a similar Chip Shop, here in Belfast there is not a huge difference in price. And the choice is also limited compared to Mayfair. Yes, the takeaway in Mayfair is much cheaper than 'sitting in' but personally with the views I would be happy to pay that little bit extra. Especially for a treat. All three meals presented beautifully, especially the prawns! Also the majority of us would not be ordering 3 meals so this would reduce the bill somewhat. I agree with the first two markings but overall, taking everything into consideration I would give the overall marking an 8 and a half. Oh and I see since 9.32 yesterday morning you have another 1k subs!! Amazing. Take care. S
I would never spend that kind of money on one serving of food and its astronomical price especially a 'Chippy'. At these prices, i would bring my own sandwiches from home. I worked in Mayfair many times. It's a lovely area with incredibly expensive properties.

I thought the prawns looked excellent, and the fish looked good. The cod seemed a very decent portion, although given the price it should be. I would go there if I were nearby and fancied fish n chips, I have certainly paid more money and got worse food. I enjoy these reviews, kind of enjoying British food by proxy.
Maybe Gary, if you'd eaten the batteted prawns 1st. They may not have become soggy ? Like if you put vinegar on your fish they also become soggy . Just a thought l. Keep up the great work squire 😊
