Nice review! Cool new wheel, a good twist from the former one (sadly I have the formula pro since not much time to consider a replacement) ;) Btw, I would be very thankful if you make a video with your Simucube settings (or a tutorial to how to set it up correctly) for every game (I would specially appreciate for ACC) Just wondering if you have ever considered it ;) great content !!!

Love the review, currently using dd1. Just upgraded to simtrec pedals and now ready to gwt Simucube was sure i was gettijg the pro. But hearing you state you are using the sport has me thinking do i really need the pro?

The new (or old) Cube Controls Formula USB is the best wheel to use in VR because of the buttons & rotatory encoders. (I have 1000+ hours in VR with mine).

@@MrLJdizzle I am sticking with my “old” Formula USB because I don’t need any more encoders in ACC. If I drove F1 cars with more driver adjustments I would probably get the new one. In VR you got to think like a blind person.

That's a decent looking wheel. Still trying to decide on a wheel upgrade from my McLaren GT3 V2 on a DD1. The thing creeks like the titanic, and gearshifts wake my neighbours 3 doors away 🤷‍♂️

Thank you for your excellent content. You mentioned using boots. I also have sprint pedals and am looking for a better footwear soliton. Which boots do you find work well with the sprints?

He got a wheel to review but doesn’t know anything about it, i got more info from the previews from the adac expo in september where it was shown. As far as I know, you can connect the wheel through Bluetooth and can use all the buttons and handles. You can connect it with the cable to charge or to play and charge.

Hey James. Lovely review. A question if I may. Why don't you run it wirelessly? Also on my ascher wheel I am limited to so many inputs because it's wireless? Is this the case also with cube controls wheels? Would the clutch paddles still work wirelessly? Thanks

The wheel uses Bluetooth connectivity. The cable is for charging and can be removed if desired.

AFAIK the wireless one do not support 64 buttons but 32 and has no clutch.

Width? Website says 280mm but honestly looks wider than that which is good because my Fanatec 270mm is way too narrow. Amazing to me people post reviews and don't cover the basics.

Yes because it’s wireless through Bluetooth it’s not only for Simucube. But i think you need a fanatec podium hub, otherwise you don’t have ffb.

You have some serious stutter on your pc. That will throw your car off and it will also slow your lap times

Not worth it. Got mine, plugged it in and prompted for firmware update. Had a puff of smoke come out of it and it was bricked. Cube Controls will not respond to me even after sending pictures of fried components on PCB. Not sure what to do? I'm out $1K. Can't return and no customer support. Will never buy from them again. But the wheel will might look good hanging on the wall for $1k?

I personally find these handles very slippery and definitely worse than the previous Formula Pro version, without gloves you have a good grip until you start to sweat, then it slips, with gloves it is unusable and I would add also dangerous if you have a powerful base and high ForceFeedback, if you have gloves with silicone or gel grip maybe it improves the situation but I find it a serious mistake, I should not be forced to use gloves with ultra grip to fix a steering wheel construction problem,
