Seems a bit small to be bothered with an inflation mechanism but I really like the idea for a china ball style light. Or maybe even just a bigger rectangle light source
But why? Why dont you just use a flexlight with a softbox? Its the same weight class and does not need to bee inflated... I dont really get the inflation deflation thing. In 1,5 minutes i can also put a softbox on my Amaran F22c AND i can also use the light without a softbox if i want.
The magnetic back is a nice feature on this one. The Amarans have a really bad design as far as the connection to the stands/arms with their wonky proprietary pins. And this is a little cheaper. So it does give the Amarans some competition depending on how you intend to use the light. Not gonna lie I would use the sht out of that magnetic feature. You can easily mount a metal base plate anywhere without even using a stand
Pretty sure you can inflate it with your mouth from the release valve; of course it would be a pain in the a*s*s, but if the pump dies at least the light is not becoming unusable
I really like your channel. It's now my favorite filmmaking channel on RU-vid :) I also started doing some lighting/set building breakdown videos but I'm nowhere near your level 😅
Questions: What is the light meter reading of the aperture (F.stop) at 10 feet from the subject at ISO640? Battery is additional cost, correct (V-mount $plus)? How long does battery charge last and recharging time? Can I use Anker Power bank instead of V-mount? Any noise (Humming) from the light or power supply?
Thanks for the video, I hate you 😂 BTW can you make a video about backdrops, like how they are very usable during boring interviews, about backdrop types, colors and about materials differences which one to choose and etc.
Great video as usual. I always learn something. This light looks cool but also looks like a gimmick. And for $500+, is it really worth it? It seems the cost is the convenience, no need to attached a soft box. If one has some extra $ sitting around, seems like this would be a good buy. But otherwise it looks like one of those items you would like to try but not necessarily own. Still, very cool!
What do you do when it pops or gets a hole in it? Is there a free replacement plan? This is why inflatable lighting will never catch on. Too risky. I'd hate to get to the job, only to find out that I can't set up my light because it has a hole in it.
looking so manly with their the new haircut, I wonder if he got a fade to the sides he would have the badboy look . Now , i'm not a big fan of LED panels they never look soft enough IMO but i'm impressed witht he dinner shot how soft it looked.
They should have check with the consumers to see if this was a product what would be needed at that size, the non removable cable is a deal breaker in 2023.
Still learning here, and I wonder if I can run this lighting question by anyone: I've noticed that for point-source lights (e.g., Aputure 600D) soft boxes place the diffusion at distances of maybe a couple of feet from the light, but for panels (like this one) those rectangular softboxes place the diffusion much closer, at mere inches away from the light source. Why does such closer diffusion work with panels? Is it simply because the light source (the array of LEDs) is already spread out?
This light is great but this channel is terrible. It breaks my heart to think that this poor light had to be subjected to listening to the foolishness coming out of the mouth of Thomas. This channel is a joke and should be unplugged…unlike the light they just showcased shining high and mighty, a shining beacon of hope. A cloud of silver lining and LEDs. Please Epic Light Media, when you leave to pursue a different career path please leave this light on before you leave. It acts as an invitation to other filmmakers who actually know what they are talking about unlike you. It will shine like the North Star and will attract filmmakers and they will use the light for filmmaking purposes. They will see signs that you were there but will paint over the walls with metallic gray paint and use it as a colour grading suite. They will put carpet down to sound treat the new audio recording room. Any trace of you will be gone, except…except for that light. Shining in the corner.
How... convenient. A new product in named and its release is just happens to coincide with a time in our lives that people are hyper focused on balloons for some reason. I'm unsubscribing again.
