I can only imagine how many people have submitted, I sent my rig like 4 months ago and he still hasn't gotten to it lol. Keep up the great vids love them as always!
Love how he did not complain or ranting about how the rigs are dusty, old or cable management done wrong. Shows how much this guy appreciate us the community of budget gamers
E3 Xeons are probably still the way to go. The E3-1240 v2 is about $20 cheaper than the i7-3770 on eBay and they're basically the same thing. OEM systems tend to take these as long as there is a BIOS version with a microcode update. That will overwrite whatever original support list claimed by the vendor.
A used i7 7700k, the best CPU for my PC sells for more than a brand new Ryzen 5 2600 or a used Ryzen 5 with AM4 motherboard. But I don't know if buying into AM4 is even worth it anymore, because it won't take long until something new comes out.
I have A E3 Xeon 1245 V2 which is quite a bit cheaper and out performs a stock Intel Core i7 3770K. Does me wonders though I do want to learn Ryzen Cpu's tho since I have little clue as to what is what when it comes to amd lol
Wow, those XPS 630i cases are really nice. I have one with all the original parts. I thought about doing a sleeper in it, but I think I like the one featured in this video better.
Had I only watched the big channels (LTT, Bitwit, etc), I would've never built my own pc. Thank god I found your channel. It was your video on 1155 systems that made me go out and build one myself. I would've never thought I could get a decent gaming pc for dirt cheap, and that's a big deal for someone as piss poor as me. So thanks, man. Budget channels like you are the real MVPs
Just wanted to comment the same, had to look a few times that it is not an optical illusion, but it is sagging reeeally bad... Are the GPU cables pulling it down? That sag seems rather extreme to me....
@@youcefouabel330 Your graphics card is bending on the right side due to the heavy weight of the heatsink (and possibly the cables pulling it down), if it bends any further it can cause some damage to your GPU and the PCIe slot. Consider getting some kind of support to hold up the right end, for example putting any long object underneath the GPU will do.
My mate has an Acer Nitro 5, Ryzen quad core with an RX 560 mobile, and its surprisingly good. It runs almost every game we could think of quite well, and with a RAM upgrade (from 8 to 16GB) I would consider it a very good machine.
Here’s an interesting video subject for you-you mentioned your PS4 sounding like a “jet engine”,not extensive, just remove top cover and put a fan over the top to see if it tames the noise.Could be a few vids trying various, simple fan mods to cool it.Top vid mate.
I'm glad you didn't comment on needing custom cable sleeves and appreciated the budget pc acceptance. Little disappointed you didn't really talk about not cleaning the pc or at least to attempt cable management
Back in 2012, I had a i5 3470 (3.8ghz OC) paired with 2xGTX660's in SLI. That PC was a beast and now would be rendered nothing more than a antiquated paper weight.
Not sure I'd have recommended the 6600 upgrade to 6700K (£185) or 7700K (£245)....both of which are used CEX prices, instead you could switch to a brand new Ryzen 3300X for less than £120 and get an ASrock B450M Pro4 less than £75...so £195 approx. It comes with it's own cooler so that's not a problem, and the DDR4 is transferable, it also gives an upgrade path to 6 or 8 core parts in the future, unlike the 1151 socket. 3300X was shown to be equal to or above the 7700K in most games if I remember correctly.
The upgrade from i7 2600 to an i7 3770 is more significant than you think, as the 3770 has AVX support. It should be very noticeable in AVX workloads and games just how much better the support is.
"Those old i7's still hold up pretty well'... 2012 ish ; Intel; " Nothing in the rear view mirror lads! Steady as she goes and jack the prices up? ' 2020 consumer; " Blimey, I can still play many games on this ole i7 just about? " ;#} Moore and his 'law' , he did mention if you dont keep at it people wont actually NEED to buy new stuff.
Still, if you're using one of those old i7s you're also using old ram that you're not going to be able to upgrade unless you buy a new CPU and MB, so that kinda sucks. Like, my 4790k is still quite nice, but I'm stuck with DDR3 memory which is difficult to find clocked any higher than 1600mhz, and is more expensive than DDR4.
Happy last day of June. My gaming rig is in MSI x99a gaming pro motherboard with an Intel Core i7-6800k that I've overclocked to 4.4 ghz, 6 cores 12 threads, 16 gb g.skill ddr4 3000 mhz ram in quad channel, GTX 1080 graphics card, and now for storage, I have a Samsung 970 evo plus m.2 500 gb ssd with another Samsung 860 evo 250 gb sata ssd, Crucial 275 gb sata ssd, and a 3 tb Seagate hard drive. Not the latest and greatest hardware that I have, but I think my gaming rig here would have been high end in 2016. It still handles any new games that I put on it like Fallout 76 wastelanders, run at 1080p ultra settings and usually get 70 to 90 fps. Using an Acer Predator 1080p gsync monitor at 180hz refresh, so I guess thats why Fallout 4 and 76 usually by default has my framerate capped at 90 fps which would be half of 180 hz refresh. What I like about most of the Intel "K" series CPUs is that they seem to be able to overclock a good ways.
Hi, i watched your videos when u had like 20k subs and i still enjoy your content. Since then i have upgraded my own setup significantly thanks to u and other tech youtubers. I was curious where can i submit my setup pics n specs for u to maybe rate some day
when i upgraded from the FX-8350 ive had for like 6yrs or so to the current R5 3600 system, since i had to get a new mobo anyway i decided to go with the Asrock X570 Phantom Gaming 4 instead of an older mobo. honestly, at the time of purchase, i got the mobo for $140. it was the cheapest X570 mobo i could find that im not gonna lie, its by far the nicest mobo i have ever used in the almost 30yrs ive been doing PC stuff. i hate how it takes a while to get through the Asrock startup part before loading OS, but once it does its so fast that i can literally blink and its on and booted up. thats what i get for also deciding to go with a m.2 pcie 4.0 ssd and using it as my boot/os drive. lol... yeah, im so impressed with how night and day it is in comparison to my older 8350 system in speeds and basically in every other way possible. dont get me wrong, i for sure got out of the 8350 system i had for years what i couldve ever hoped for, but man, this 3600 is crazy.. since i did get a X570 mobo, i know that if i want to upgrade my cpu, i absolutely could do so without having to worry too much. i know that if i take care of the mobo, itll last me YEARS like my old one did. i should still be able to use it in 6 years. it wont be the best, but like my older 8350 system did, itll do what i need it to for years to come.
Quick note on the first submission, I was in a similar situation with a 2600. I did the upgrade they were asking about here and it was a decent little upgrade but nothing ground breaking. If you can get a nice OC on the 3770k it might be worth it over a 2600 which cannot be OC'd. But if you cannot OC the 3770K to at least 4.5GHZ I wouldn't even think about it. Frankly even if you get the 3770K overclocked decently well you're still delaying the inevitably needed platform update... Basically if you're short on money get the 3770K and try to OC it a little bit, if you can save for a complete upgrade to the platform, cpu etc I'd highly recommend that as 1155 is showing it's age now.
Just curious, what would be better, an i5-9600k a used i7 ( 6th gen or older ) or a ryzen 5 3600? or should I wait for the new AMD CPU release and buy a nicer last-gen ryzen when the price goes down a bit?
Could you do a Video explaining AMD Cpu's and Gpu's for those like me who are currently only knowledgable on Intel and Nvidia? This I mainly the reason why I refuse to try much of Amd's tech range as I have not much clue without having to Google specifically what is better than what where as with Intel you know an i5 is more than likely going to be better than most i3's or a Gtx 1050 is bettter than a 750ti?
AMDs naming system is MUCH simpler than Intel's. R3s are quad core, R5 are 6 core, r7 are 8 core, R9 are 12+ cores. All have 'hyper threading' (SMT) except some r3s. The first number represents the Zen generation: 1600 Gen 1, 2600 1+, 3600 Zen 2. And there's about a 20% uplift per generation. Motherboards wise the only things that make sense ATM are b450 or b550 depending on whether you are buying an older cheaper CPU or 550 for newer ones.
8:13 Those nitro laptops are pretty easy to service , i replaced the thermal paste on my 2018 version with thermal grizzly kryonaut , since then temperatures on both chips average mid 70's to mid 60's celsius range , unlike stock from the factory where it constantly hits 92°C
If your PS4 sounds like a jet engine just take it apart and clean it, maybe change the thermal paste too if you take it apart anyway and it should not sound like a jet engine anymore. You can maybe make a video on that too. :D
Last month I m using my old win xp gaming;) PC with xp2500+,512gb ram,gf4 ti4200 and 19inch,100hz, Samsung 957df..while my 4y old daughter watching cartoons on ~2y old PC with 8600k,16gb,rtx2080 ;), 2tb nvme,ssd,27' 144hz 1440p screen...i really enjoy this old machine, not even considering to play something on newer PC. Playing games from my high school era like:NFS Porsche, mafia 1,diablo2,interstate76,half life1/opposing force/blue shift, age of empires1,boarder zone,flatout1,midtownmadness 1&2, mobil1 rally, mortal combat trilogy, desert strike, kknd,StarCraft,c&c tiberium sun,red alert2,heroes3,carmageddon2,,unreal,insane,grim fandango, monkey island 3..there are so many great games from time..even some dos games are great like Rolland gaross 97,prehistoric 2,atomic bomberman, lion king,Aladdin etc..it's a joy to play all those old games without emulators on 100hz screen with high fps.
Are there any CPU upgrades I can do with an i5 2500 without getting a new motherboard? I have mine oc 4.6 and although it can handle 1080p 60fps on mostly high-medium settings, it's usually just barely averaging 60fps
When it comes to laptop thermals, just watch various laptop reviews like Dave2D. I think the new Ryzen laptops are really nice! And with Intel you can always use software like Throttle Stop to down clock the CPU and make the laptop run more efficiently. There is a RU-vid channel called Bob of All Trades and he makes laptop videos. He specializes in power and thermals and is very informative
Two words: Cable management! I can't stand cables hanging everywhere in my case, so funny to see some people don't care at all. Where can I send my pics to??
I am currently build my gaming tower to replace my laptop so far ive got a case a 650w PSU, 2 500GB Hard drives, 2 motherboards 1 is a Asus prime a320m and the other one is a MSI B450-A Pro (not sure if it works) and a CPU ryzen 5 2600 and the best part I got all this for free now all I need is RAM, a GPU and maybe an SSD. Have you got any tips on where to find parts for cheap in the UK or got any parts you want to send me to finish my build :)
have u ever made a video or attempted to replace the thermal paste with some good and greased the bearings in your ps4s fan with beard trimmer oil or grease because ive fixed many ps4s that sound like that just by doing that even just replacing the thermal paste should keep it from speeding up the fan as mutch i still got a launch ps4 that u can barley tell its on o and get u some of them gaming glasses there not just for gaming they also help with eye strain .
I kinda disagree with that A320 statement unless if your on a really tight budget there are many cheap b450 boards that don't cost that much more than a320.
i'm still rocking this setup: i7 4790k Gigabyte GTX 970 24GB G.skill RIPJAWS RAM (2 4GB and 8GB. it's fine don't worry lol) 240 KIngston m.2 SSD a total of 5TB hdd i'm on a 1080p monitor and i can play every game i want to at decent fps and fairly good looking visual settings. but this is gonna be it's last year as i update my PC every ps4 console launch to match gaming generational advancements.
Just remember that while you might be able to use an ivy bridge CPU on H61/B65/Q65/Q67/H67/P67/Z68 (Sandy Bridge chipsets) you'd be stuck be PCI-E 2 and 0-2 Sata 3 ports on the motherboard.
Hi mate, a question for you I have a i7 3770 , looking at upgrading my 1060 3GB to a 2060 super. Would my processor be unable to keep up with the GPU? Thanks
Where'sOllie I have a rtx 2060 and had it paired with a ryzen 5 2600 @4.2Ghz and it was bottlenecking in games like ac origins and odyssey upgraded to a 3700x and bottleneck was completely gone. I’m the majority of game you should be fine with a 3770 but wil be hurting you performance. Get a r5 3600 if you can.
Sibille Bubelhuber constant stutters in ac odyssey/origins and hunt showdown. Games I play a lot and got sick of the stutters with the 3700x stutters gone and got a 15 fps increase
i5 2500k @3.7ghz, 8gb 1600mhz ram, gtx 770 2gb, asrock z75 pro3 mobo, be quite 600w psu, all housed in a cooler master CM 690 III currently playing Detroit - Become Human @ lowest settings, 720p resolution and a solid 30fps at all times
I had a similar setup as that first guy, I had i7 3770 (non k version but old Intel could still be forced to run around 200mhz faster) and rx 5700xt (for like a one day only) and the gpu was so bottlenecked my cinebench r15 gpu score was almost doubled when i switched to ryzen 3600
11:20 lmk if im wrong but that pny gpu doesnt look like it has any 8 pins connected or anything, which i think the 1070ti needs. again lmk if im wrong EDIT: I see it now lol
When i get a gaming set up i would get a helios 300 with the 1660ti. Or the 2060 if on sale a screen And mouse and keyboard Keep the laptop inside the desk with some mods to put fans inside
idk why people are using mini itx motherboard in a full atx case, I mean atx and matx boards are cheaper than mini itx, right? it kinda loses the purpose of those cable management holes and grommets provided by the case.
Im gonna upgrade my rx 580 gpu to 1080ti i got ryzen 5 2600 rig and i really need your opinion especially im a person who mods bethesda games to its limits. will it be a good upgrade? Edit: i have B450 Gaming x
My nephews ps4 was loud as hell until I pulled it apart and took a aor compressor to the fan at a decent pressure nothing too crazy and its quiet as brand new now.
hi.i really like your videos.it seems you turn old PC into a gaming PC. I have Athlon X4, i think 2.4 GHZ with 4GB DDR3 RAM. motherboard M4A785TD-V EVO. can you suggest me a graphic card. i like playing action games, FPS. also any site from where i cam buy a second hand graphic card cheap.
Simple way to find out is to set up RivaTuner and monitor utilization. If GPU is significantly under 100% with no caps set then you'll have your answer. Personally I'd expect high CPU utilization in general with newer games but not quite 100% and for the GPU to be the consistent bottleneck, but it might be close.
That guy with the i7-965 needs to know he's missing out by not using the 3rd memory channel. Put one more 4GB stick (can be had for like 10-15€ in France) in there and you have 50% more memory and 50% more memory bandwidth
@@NexusXP The only thing when dual channel might be "better" is when you're overclocking your memory very very high (i.e. load on the memory controller). But the effect will be small, and high chance your memory would become unstable before that
