I didn’t know I needed this in my life. I bet it’s going be a game changer around here. I can see myself making a batch of this and other great recipes and sending a care package to my precious folks. They care so much about it heir diet but gosh they have more important things to do than hang out in the kitchen. I love you for these two recipes. Thank you
Thank You! Like that you mention the measurements clearly. Saves so much time having to search the websites etc for recipes like aome other youtubers. Your voice is very gentle and soothing.
I found a easy recipe on RU-vid that uses ground flax, sesame seeds and dried Rosemary, yum The problem I see with using nut flours like almond meal or flour, is that the companies don’t pre soak the nuts to remove anti nutrients.i use a small coffee grinder for my flax and it makes a much finer meal which make it more absorbent.and I’ve found that warm water works better than cold water. I might try adding nutritional yeast for a cheese flavor, or add smoked paprika for a flavor boost.
Store-bought chips were the leading cause of my overweight condition. I miss them more than any other snack, since I started low-carbing 12 years ago. Your recipe is a godsend! They look like the perfect vehicle for all sorts of party dips (except for raw vegetables of course). Thanks so much for all that you put into posting this great video!
Hi Gayle! I love this recipe!! It's so simple and delicious. I just added salt and caraway seeds and they were a hit with my friends and family. I made them with just salt and used them as a nacho chip replacement... perfection! Thank you so much! Kandyce :)
Thanks Gayle. I have started to trim the overhanging parchment because it nearly burst into flame when it was too close to the oven wall. It got quite dark and started smoking. I was in the kitchen I am glad to say.
Hey Gayle. Newly subscribed. Love your videos. You may think me strange, but what I did, was make a cardboard template of my baking sheet, because my parchment paper was waaay to large to fit the tray. This way I no longer have to fold, nip, or tuck the PP to fit. I just pull out the desired length, place the template on top, trace the outline and cut the excess with a pair of scissors, and Bob's your uncle. Works wonders :)
Thank you for this recipe! We need good snacks while trying to watch our carbs! I have a Dill Dip recipe you make like. 250 no each of Hellman's Mayonaise, and sour cream. Along with 3/4 -1 teaspoon each of: Dill weed Garlic powder Seasoning salt
Great video, thank you for actually having your ingredients already measured out and ready to add. I hate when people try to teach us how to measure and their video spend 20 minutes dipping into a bag pulling out ingredients. I add warm water to my flax seed mix and let it sit for 12 minutes prior to adding the other ingredients. I feel it's more pliable and the flax seed taste is more robust. Other then that, I mimic your recipe and have been for years. I use a pizza cutter to make them 1" x 1".
I am happy you are enjoying them. It would be great if you could go to my site "lowcarbrecipeideas.com" and put a comment in there. Also check out all my other recipes. Enjoy:)
Hey Gayle (and Keith), me again. Just want to pass on a tip that I saw on another RU-vid site. Instead of using a rolling pin to flatten the dough, if you have a large enough cutting board, use that to press out the dough to the desired consistency.
+artos1955 So what you are saying is put the mixture on parchment paper ( top and bottom) then take a large cutting board and press on top of the mixture until we get the desired consistency. Will have to try! Thank you and Happy New Year!
I just put a new video out" Low Carb Almond Parmesan Crackers" Link: www.lowcarbrecipeideas.com/low-carb-almond-parmesan-crackers/ , if you like Parmesan you will love these crackers. Enjoy
about 80 grams of TOTAL carbs to the whole recipe so depends on how much you allot to serving size (I put ingredients through a recipe calculator to figure the carb total)
This looks so good! I'm wondering- would it come out just as crispy if I used olive oil instead of water, or if I used the water but after rolling it out, I brushed a little olive oil over them?
Hi Dora I haven't tried it that way, I am not sure how it would work. If you try, it would be lovely if you share with all of us. Take Care and Stay Safe
Hello again! No somewhere along the line I signed up with Keith's name instead of mine. He does all the eating not the cooking. So when you see Keith's name it is me (Gayle) responding. :)
I've made flax seed crackers before, but did not like the 'slimey' mouth feel when chewing them. Do these have that quality, or does the almond flour help alleviate that? Thanks for sharing your videos!
Flaxseed contains very small amounts of compounds that can produce cyanide, a metabolic poison. But the mere presence of these compounds does not make flaxseed dangerous. ... The cyanogenic compounds in flaxseed are a greater concern for livestock, where very large amounts are consumed.Jul 29, 2014, www.google.com/search?q=is+flaxseed+poisonous&rlz=1C1AVNE_enCA846CA846&oq=is&aqs=chrome.0.69i59j69i57j69i59j0l2j69i60l2j69i61.4065j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
@Gayle McLeod Hello Gayle, newly subscribed. Look really good. Will definitely make these. Question: what would you use as a substitute for Almond Meal / Flour? Thank you.
Merry Christmas Jose The sweetener adds to the flavor, I don't use stevia much any more, I like using powdered erythritol, xylotil or monk fruit. I hope this helps!
There is just a trace of net carbs in the whole batch. Check it out at: 1 cup ground golden flaxseed. You will find the recipe here: www.lowcarbrecipeideas.com/revised-low-carb-flaxseed-chips/
Gayle McLeod I always appreciate when the link is the dropdown box. I get recipes in my spare time for later. It isnt possible to copy and paste from the comment section nor the dropdown box. I read off the URL on my iPad, then typed in the URL on my phone to go to the website and then went to the web address on my iPad. Way easier when you put a working link in the dropdown box. Thank you for the many times you have.
Gayle I love chips too and I have found a chip replacement I make myself using Cut da carb flat breads 9 g of carb per huge sheet and I fry the m in avacado oil! They are awesome... cutdacarbs.com you’ll never need another chip!!
Why are you not put your recipe down I'm sure you want people to subscribe, no measurements or recipes, what I'm saying is why don't you put this down so people can subscribe to you,
Well there’s a link to the recipe. Which is better. I prefer to watch & see if it’s recipe I want and if I do then I click the link (in the description, always, lol she’s remarkably organized and super thoughtful the way she does things. It works for the majority!) My point is …there recipe is indeed there if you truly wanted it.
