I've had 2 XJR's, 1 Cb1300 and 2 Gsx 1400s. (K2 and K6). All 3 bikes have their merits, Xjrs are better cosmetically finished, CBs are more nimble but the old 1400 is the king. More punch, more leg room, more size (I'm also big), best gearbox and the silky smooth engine. I still have my first gen K2 which I'll never sell.
I purchased a Suzuki GSX 1400 K3 in June 2004 brand new and owned it foe 12 years until health issues prevented me from even being able to lift it off iys stand, let alone ride it anymore. I put 36000 miles on it over those 12 years as it was used daily in the first 3 years of its life covering on average 250 miles every day. The immense power of this bike cannot be ignored and I'm sick of reviewers giving false figures for its true standard performance which was: 0-60 mph in 3.6 seconds and 0-100 mph in 8 seconds. Top speed was hard to determine because with no protection from any fairing, your head is at the mercy of the tornado wind that tries to rip your head from your shoulders at over 155mph and I am a small guy at 5'6". The highest speed I ever reached was 165mph in 6th gear at about 6-7000 rpm. The bike itself is probably capable of 190mph, but the riders head will be decapitated by the wind over 165mph. The torque of this thing is breathtaking, especially over 5000 rpm. You can overtake in 6th without dropping down with total confidence and zero effort. This bike is like the hulk on steroids and doesn't accelerate, it teleports! This bike is for seriously experienced riders only. If you ride one of these with less than 5 years experience of riding large powerful capacity bikes you should reserve your place at the morgue.
Got one , had it now for 16 years had a few second bikes all good but this beats them all . From torque to fuel tank range plus big comfy seat & not forgetting it looks great .
Great video bud , I do this all the time , find a nice place to do a video and then it's the m25 going by pmsl Miss the old bikes and riding Ducati! Yum ! Top man keep them coming You can see I'm getting old now I'm doing trucks lol
Lovely bike, great price. How does it compare to the multi? Cheaper obviously...but do you feel like it's a big drop? Or just a different beast altogether?
Totally different riding experience to be honest, I think the GSX is very " age appropriate" for me too. And it still looks amazing in this Colour scheme even after 20 Years! Sound better than the Ducati in a lot of ways too, with the twin MTS cans 😁
Niccceeeeeeeeee - Nearly pulled the trigger on one. But got a much wanted Black Bandit 1200 N Old skool ... Which felt like a mini Moto under my 6'8" frame .... Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm
The 1400 with added seat height is the best oldschool naked bike for big guys, I'll say from experience. With its high handlebars and big frame, you can easily slap 15cm on top and sit very comfortably.
