2:23 I think the main problem with the charge SMG is that its whole concept is somewhat counterintuitive. With the charge shotgun, you charge a shot(gun) and release a powerful shot. With the Charge SMG, however, it couldn’t be used as a follow up SMG, but it wasn’t really consistent as a semi-medium range weapon. I was so pissed when Epic vaulted the Combat SMG for this gun.
@@pigylordThe thing is you have to hold a charge with reduced movement speed and no cancelling it for upwards of 3 seconds, it’s easier said than done. Even then you can totally miss because the vertical recoil is AWFUL
it really depended on if you control the bloom of the charge i’ve used it a good bit and personally found success with it, but maybe that’s because i enjoy using more wacky weapons
The Kymera ray is massively underrated, fantastic for suppression, really long range and infinite ammo is a great combo. They had to give it low damage to balance it in a season of powerful items.
If you want but with a good weapon, just use the stinger SMG or combat SMG. They’re almost basically the same. One just has less recoil and less consistent range. But that doesn’t mean the range is super inconsistent, it just means it’s a little less consistent. Like the difference between “I” (uppercase i) and “l” (Lowercase L)
Something a lot of people forget about the Legacy SMG is that, it was eventually buffed to being the equivalent to the Uncommon, Rare, and Epic Rapid Fire SMG. But since people went off feeling back then, no one noticed. Also, The Makeshift SMG is a much better SMG than the Tac SMG is Now with the accuracy being the only noticeable difference.
Two hot takes. One, I feel like the Tactical SMG is one of Fortnite’s WORST SMGs of all time. And two, I feel like you could do some MASSIVE damage with the Charge SMG, but it wasn’t in game long enough for people to figure out how to use it right.
I'm gonna be honest here, the Burst SMG & the Makeshift SMG were actually quite good for me to use, possibly since I could take care of the recoil for the former, and the latter was basically a low-rarity Tactical SMG but with a slightly faster fire rate.
I wish they never replaced the striker with that stupid warforged. It had much high recoil, spread, and the only good one was the mythic. Any other and it’s objectively worse than an unmodified gray striker AR. also C3 S3 had the striker pump and the hammer AR then C5 S1 had the striker AR and the hammer pump. Why did they get rid of the combo after one season?
The charge smg is very underrated, it boasts the highest dps out of any smg, has a tight spread, quick reload, and average mag size. The fire rate allows it to bleed bullets through a wall often. The charge mechanic is what holds it back, it requires a lot of skill and understanding of the weapon in order to be used properly and make use of its qualities. If you know your enemies position roughly then you can charge the smg and predict the situation, with either you or your enemy rushing, and you light them up with charge smg’s massive dps, and if they live, swap to your shotgun and finish them off. Note that you don’t need to fully charge the smg inorder to kill someone with full shield and health with it. The problem is in Builds, where you’re in a build fight, because there are less opportunities to charge the smg, so you would rather have a more consistent option, like the stinger. Yes, you have to spend a good amount of time to get good with the charge smg, but it does reward your skill well, unfortunately, its not the best for every situation, but it isn’t one of the worst smg’s of all time, it just feels like epic didn’t want this smg to be liked, releasing it with the stinger and combat smg, two of the strongest smgs, and vaulting the combat smg to make way for the charge smg.
IMO the regular burst is on of the best smgs ever because from a further rang it did so much more damage that a lot of the smgs that were released it also bleeds through builds so much I could litteraly just walk through builds and also I had no problem with recoil fr I still use it in creative to this day and it is really broken and I feel like if a lot of people payed attention to it in Chapter 2 Season 2 then they might’ve delayed the rapid fire smg from releasing
The Charge SMG was absolutely one of the nastiest things to ever be released into the game. If they had kept it in the game for longer than 1/3 of a season, people would've had much more time to realize that you could 200-0 someone in less than a second even at gray rarity.
@@XCETSukinit literally is bad, like objectively. It's counter intuitive bc smgs are ment so spray quickly after a shotgun or to take a wall not to start a fight, u can't shoot a shotgun then swap to the charge smg
I used the makeshift smg in creative and it was actually good it was way faster and had a better magazine size so it bled through builds and it was shot really fast at people so it would instantly destroy them and longer if you hit your shots the bullet damage would add up song it had a lot of bullets
The scoped burst smg needs to be added to the list. It did half the damage of the season 9 burst smg, had a giant scope (even though it couldn’t be used from long range), and had bad recoil, making it incredibly difficult to do more than 30 damage.
i actaully liked it, it had good headshot damage and its only vertical recoil so if you aim at the bottom of a player at medium range it will hit all four shots. thats just me though, i respect your opinion
IMO the original burst smg was the a good weapon but put in the wrong meta. If you could crack someone’s shield with a pump and then get in their box and shoot them with it, It could do some very good damage
The Kymera Ray Gun is the most underrated weapon of all time. It has no bloom, infinite ammo and 16 firerate. That's 144 DPS with a tiny dropoff and a very quick ”reload time”. Plus the whole mag lasts for longer than one second. I know building hard counters this weapon, but if you catch someone by suprise from 60 meters away, it's a free kill. People are hating on this weopon because the Rail Gun was in the game at the same time. Imagine this weapon in Zero Builds. I'm just sad that people are hating on this weapon, because it's really good.
I think the og burst smg was really good in close range. Ty does have a point by saying it was bad at range, but I liked the making of a close range, burst smg niche. But the thunder burst does out do it in everything close-long range
Idk why ppl hate on the charge smh so much just because you can’t quickly spray when pulling it out doesn’t mean it’s a bad smg. The damage and fire rate is absolutely insane and the range is pretty good as well
for smgs it’s really all about consistency which INCLUDES the Harbinger, all but the Thunder Burst this chapter is inaccurate and has bad recoil, the Burst SMG has terrible bloom, and so on.. if all these smgs were consistent then 100% it would be so much better to use even with recoil but it sadly just isnt the case, for last season at least if all C5 SMGs were as consistent as the Thunder Burst then i’d call them all balanced with each other (Burst SMGs are typically faster in TTK, the OG Burst SMG at blue elims as fast as the Legendary Combat SMG which is 0.733 vs 0.75) the Charge SMG 100% needs a rework and needs to work like the Charge Shotgun where it gains damage if you charge it yourself but is a normal SMG if you dont charge it
Yh it’s pretty mid in its current state if it increased either the damage/range/fire rate with charging it up then it would be nice to have with attachments
@@SosaIDK i did damage like the regular charge since damage fits better with how charge weapons should be, i have mine as 10.5 fire rate and 17-21 damage then when charging it goes from x1.0 -> x1.1 -> x1.2 then finally -> x1.3, initial DPS is 178.5-220.5 and full charge DPS is 232.05-286.65
Imo all smgs serve well enough except charge and ray gun, having a chargeup time on an smg just doesn't work. Most other smgs function the same, and will perform fine in someones box after hitting a pump
I think some of these smgs just needed to pair them with a good shotgun, take for example burst smg (chap 1) + ranger shotgun or frenzy auto + hyper smg
Listen, I know the charge isn’t good for backing up a shotgun but it still is really good. Like if someone’s boxed up you can just bleed through their wall and do some good damage. Also from range, it ain’t bad because of its fire rate
Personally, I like the burst smg. The only problem with it is it’s bloom, which is awful and holds it back. Up close it’s very potent, but the further you get, the worse it performs due to said bloom. Personally I think that the vast majority of the guns from season 9 were all good, it’s just that now they’re a bit under powered compared to what we have now.
The blue version of the burst smg really could kill really quickly if you hit your shots, and in close range, thats alot easier, and it shredded through builds, if used correctly, it was not fair, but the other green and grey are pretty shit
Charge smg actually has good range, i was playing a red vs blue map, and this person was using the Zeus thunderbolt almost on the other side of the map, but i lasered them out of the sky with about the same amount of damage as it would be at close range
Hey! Why are you hating on the machine pistol! I’ve always done good with it, even after its chapter 4 debuff. You just gotta use it right. It’s meant for close range and ALWAYS aim for the head. The normal damage isn’t the greatest but if you keep hitting headshots, which is very easy with how much ammo and good fire rate, then you can, most of the time, not die. You can say that with pretty much any weapon but either way. Don’t underestimate the machine pistol. Also if anyone tries correcting me, saying “oh, actually it’s the machine SMG dummy” then let me remind you of its original name being “machine pistol” and that it looks more like a pistol than most SMGs. Also the machine pistol has a special place in my heart so SHUSH UR FINGERS
Hyper SMG was also outclassed by the striker AR which had a similar role of a high fire rate close range won but with higher dps and with weapon mods tight hip fire and a big mag size I also feel like the harbinger smg should be here too it’s just bad it’s recoil is weirdly horizontal so it’s extremely hard to control it’s spread isn’t good and it’s dps is bad it’s basically a copy paste hyper smg
If you think the burst smg was bad its honestly a massive skill issue it had such high damage the blue versoon could 2 burst and i think the green could to and it shredded builds
Imo the makeshift SMG is not bad at all, it's similiar to the Tactical SMG but with slightly worse stats, even the looks of them are similiar; i'd definently put the Scoped Burst SMG from Ch4 era to the list, along with the Harbinger SMG.
@@algosemvalor yeah, i never had the opporunity to use it outside of some zombies creative maps, when i use it it really does feel better than the tac smg
Maybe its because im not like a super pro player but I’ve been able to 200-0 people with the charge smg, i actually think its pretty decent just not as a follow up weapon but as a weapon to delete people with once they box up
Personally feel that the harbinger is also bad, pretty mid dps (around 200) mixed with insanely high recoil and also some bad range. Thunder burst is better in every way with the exception of dps
The charge smg in my opinion was the worst smg ever In its defence it replaced the combat smg which was my favourite gun of all time Did I like the combat
charge SMG isnt just the worst smg in fortnite its the worst weapon in fortnite history. like , what's the point of a gun that doesnt shoot when you click SHOOT like , bruh
Imagine with the Charge SMG, you could charge it up, switch to a different weapon and stash the charge for later, and then the next time you’re in a fight it’d be all ready to fire I think that would make it better imo
