Every fish in stardew has a set of movement patterns. After awhile you can start to tell what you’re catching based off of the movement pattern you get. Several factors go into its difficulty!
When upgrading your water can, wait until the weather report says "thunder storm incoming" then you will be guarenteed that it will rain for at least a couple of days, thus giving you just enough time to upgrade your water can :) Hope this helps
The trick to upgrading your watering can is to watch the weather report. You will be without it for 1 day (2 if there is a festival) so when it say there will be rain tomorrow, water your plants and then have it upgraded. As for fishing, there are tricks to it but until you have a better rod and more in skill, it is a bit painful. Crab cages gives XP though so having a few (remember to check and add new bait every day) gives you a few levels without any work. Once you have the glasfiber rod it get easier and you can use bait so you catch more fish. As for who to hook up with, I like Haley, Abigail and Leah. Haley is a classic tsundere, she pretends that she is mean but once you get to know her, she is really sweet. Abigail is a goth chick who is into swords, music and eating crystals, the last part have probably something to do with the fact that the wizard seems to be her real father.. Leah is into art and foraging, she is fun but a bit of a hippie. She loves driftwood for her art projects so she is the easiest girl to get to like you (Haley is the hardest, pink cakes, coconuts and sunflowers are to get your hands on early). Actually getting a date for the first spring dance is pretty hard. If you gift Leah 2 driftwood every week and speak to her almost every day, she will dance with you. Abigail requires you to both find and gift her 2 amethysts the first 2 days the mines open up which require you getting lucky and you also need to keep gifting her them and speak to her almost every day so it is possible but hard. Haley is probably impossible the first year. She is the Queen of the dance after all. One thing: You will need start giving stuff to the museum. That might sound like charity but after 60 items Gunther will give you the sewer key and since Krobus sells you a Stardrop and have an iridium sprinkler for sale each week (I think it is Friday but I am not 100% sure). You should also try to buy a rare seed from the traveling merchant on a Friday and Sunday as soon as you can, and then give the fruit to the statue in the hidden forest. It takes a long time to grow so buy a single speed grow from Pierre as well. You need more energy and it should be planted the first day of fall. That is unless you unlock the greenhouse during summer but that will be hard only growing poppy. Making some fertilizer will help though.
I always wait until winter to upgrade my watering can since I don't have to worry about crops but I know it's not the most realistic solution haha great video!
