Revisiting Tekken 4 | Bryan Story Mode

I definitely wish they hadn't backtracked from the story they started with Bryan in this game. It would have been more interesting to see Bryan working together with Yoshimitsu to achieve a shared or similar goal in Tekken 5.

That fight in the city between Bryan and Yoshi is very thematic, its like one is trying to protect the paniking masses from the other's killing spree.

Bryan might have had some hidden programming by Abel (is that even possible on a cyborg?) and that took him over and made him kill Dr B. Yoshimitsu is obviously pissed and wants revenge, and answers because Bryan turned from a potential ally to a murderous scumbag overnight. Bryan becomes a mindless human weapon that attacks anyone he feels like attacking. Thus the story from T4 to T5 would make a bit more sense, but it seems mostly like there were 2 different writers with 2 wildly differing ideas on how the story should progress, and this is the result we got.

That match against Violet was like a mini boss fight and that dynamic soundtrack was ahead of it's time.

When you're behind trees, phone booth's etc at the right angle, you can run towards it and your character will run in place and build up an unblockable tackle while remaining where they are. When and if the opponent breaks the object or moves around it, unless they do some high ass jumping move, you will have a guaranteed unblockable tackle on them. If you have the life lead and they choose to stay away from you to avoid the tackle, you win.

In my opinion Tekken 4 still has the best stages and costumes.

That had to have been the most chill ending for Bryan, or one that I've seen.

I wanna live in a parallel universe where T4 loved and appreciated then tekken would go that direction... such a waste colour palette and slowness all for tactical approach people could not see it... shame on all

I wish they kept the voice actor of Bryan from the original. His laugh was diabolical and matched the character. Now Bryan sounds like a cheesy villain who's always about to cough up a lung when he's laughing.

Imagine if Bryan got a proper continuation of this story for Tekken 8? Maybe ending with him seeing his demise? Also why is his laugh from T6 onwards just Krusty the Clown?

I really hated how they removed his dialogue from the 'beating up your face' win pose, no laugh and no "die!" from Bryan, just punches since Tekken 5...

People talk about how much they ruined Paul, but I feel like Bryan got it just as bad.

Would have been really interesting to see Bryan as a good guy in Tekken 5. It's a shame they pulled a Kazuya on him and made him one dimensional evil.

Is it just me, or has Yoshimitsu's Rainbow Drop always been weak? Well, except in Tekken 2, but that was back when every throw took off half your health at least. Maybe the same could be said for Tekken 3, but definitely Tekken 4 onwards, it felt like that move got halved damage wise, I dunno.

Yoo MainMan, you need to use more grapples and get better at poking, try not to complete strings if NPC is blocking and wait for the NPC's to whiff or finish strings, Tekken 4 I would argue is an easier Tekken since juggling is not as big compared to later games

Tekken 4 was the last good Tekken. Everything after is trashy, but has the Tekken name and characters
