Revisiting the Jeep CJ Speedo Disassembly

After seeing some incorrect ways to disassemble the speedometer cluster on a Jeep, I made a video to show how simple it is to do it correctly.
This is an update to that video to show the actual removal of the fuel and temperature gauges from the cluster housing.
The replacement gauges I used in the original video were -
Mopar upgrade kit #4740791
And it contains Stewart Warner gauges #835878 Fuel and #835879 Temp.

Problem may not be in the speedo itself. You could have a warn speedo cable or gear.

Looks like those parts are discontinued. If you have a source please list the site or store.

@@TigerCreekFarm Ah okay... interesting. I was a farmer. I'm french. Interesting to see the video with the Ford tractors, the Jeep CJ7 speedometer and the way to did a well... my dad used to do few well in France. I'm in Perry since 5 years. 120 miles I need to see what that's mean in kilometers!.

Sadly, it appears the replacement gauges are no longer available. The Chinese gauges are junk.

I just picked up a rebuilt speedo cluster for my 85 cj-7 from 4 Wheel Drive Parts Inc...don't know if you've got those stores where you are, but that's the only place I found to offer a rebuilt unit in Calif....
