Extreme Gaius be like "This WAS my intention!"

I'm reminded that the 'normal' story fight used to be a bit more like this extreme was, before it was split off in Porta Decuma. The magitek bits are only short term now rather than being killed to remove them. I'm kind of glad the story versions made more of an effort to highlight that Hydaelyn is helping. When I get this one in mentor roulette, it really helps if I'm one of the tanks as the biggest obstacle teaching is the Aetheric Boom attacks. It used to be extremely painful but it's gotten easier over time as gear scaling increases. I don't know that I saw it get mentioned - the explosions split damage so if you have most of the party soak together it's less devastating per person. But it really is convenient just having the tanks run around doing it.

Ahhhh, *this* fight. It's so mean that I have to respect it.

I remember when this was the Unreal trial, probably my favourite to do since there isn't any hard body checks so you can recover from almost anything. Not sure if you realised but the orbs share their damage with everyone who gets hit, so you're supposed to split up the party and take them in groups :P

The one fight I miss the original ex the most. Still a fun time though.
