Some people wonder why their settings and changes don't update when they fix a family and reload it into their project. Revit it actually protecting your project from changes. So fixing a family doesn't work... or doesn't update the settings.. it is trying to help by keeping the settings you previously set. You will need to update those IN THE PROJECT moving forward and NOT in the families!

If your company needs BIM/Revit Assistance.. you can get help without hiring an in-house BIM Manager.
A virtual BIM Manager (me) means you and your team can get immediate help (and ongoing assistance) without dealing with the overhead of hiring someone full time.

"Revit, thank you for protecting me", but... I believe it should be an option to force override those elements. The current way contradicts the idea of making/designing and finally editing families. Happy New Year, Mike

You can link the AutoCAD file into Revit and use it there.. but there isn't a way to actually 'covert' the dwg file into a Revit file.
