Hi! Thank you so much for this tutorial sir! Do you know if there is a way for us to rotate each individual brick column on that panel at a certain angle? I want to create a facade where the brick started out normal and then the bricks as it go on, they rotate outwards gradually
@RVBoost
@RVBoost Год назад
You're welcome! What you want to do is possible but will need a different method (using adaptive components). I've done something similar here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UQmFmAFoLkU.html but of course, you'll need to make some adaptations for rotating bricks.

I have a problem. When I have already transformed the wall with the type of bricks, the wall is built with the brick below with twice the size of height generating a small brick and a larger one, how to solve it?

Thats quite a simple procedure, thanks for that. While changing the value of the overhang, a brick's length changes as well. How can we avoid that? Would setting up an offset parameter from one brick to the other and another parameter for brick's length help? this way one could avoid overhang parameter.
@RVBoost
@RVBoost 3 года назад
Thanks for proposing another method. Sounds intersting. Have you tried it? Regarding the undesired change in brick length, you can edit the curtain wall's layout rule to fix it. It should work once you have a particular set of numbers for grid spacings and the overhang.
@pratyushgolchha8941
@pratyushgolchha8941 3 года назад
@@RVBoost Hey, yeah, I did try that method. It works fine. Now I'm trying to make different panel families with various combinations, like 3 bricks which give zigzag or '+' shaped voids. Thank you for your video, it helped me to understand the concept perfectly. 😇

Great tutorial, just one question though. Is there any way to have these bricks adapt to different shapes in elevation? Revit seems to delete the bricks that don't fit and replace them with glass panels. Thanks.
@RVBoost
@RVBoost 3 года назад
Unfortunately, Revit can only place a custom panel family like this one into rectangular grid cells. You'll need to make sure that's the case. :(
@RVBoost
@RVBoost 3 года назад
For non-rectangular cells, you'll instead need to use massing and adaptive curtain panels. I have several other tutorials on this channel on this technique, so feel free to look them up!

I followed the tutorial but in the end when I try to chose the curtain panel in the options, it shows an error saying 'Type's parameter cannot recursively point to the type itself.' Please tell me what am I doing wrong.
@RVBoost
@RVBoost 3 года назад
Sounds like you tried to select the curtain wall family in that step. That won't work. Make sure to select the curtain wall panel family instead.
@adisadis1221
@adisadis1221 3 года назад
right, in the type properties of the curtain wall, where you select the Panel - make sure to select the modeled family (Brick panel) and not some curtail wall

Like the tutorial ,how do we make the yarn of bricks at the top continuous
@RVBoost
@RVBoost 3 года назад
The easiest is to make a solid wall with a 2d brick surface pattern, unless you also need 3d bricks for this continous section?
@fvargas3089
@fvargas3089 3 года назад
RV Boost yes continuos brick on the top on the 3d
@RVBoost
@RVBoost 3 года назад
Then simply create a new curtain wall type with solid panels of the same size of your brick, and place it on top of this wall.

Oh I see. They are thinner because the grid spacing there is smaller than the rest. You should change your wall height to fit them better, or change its grid spacing ;)
