@@Nocxys you could be surprised about huge amount of grip from Lancia 037 with modern tyres. Sometimes, when a proper pilot driving this beast.. it is really astonishing how much mechanical grip it have for 2wd. It literally could compete against WRC Porsche gt3. And S4 Lancias are still competing at top positions into hillclimbs (another proof of another level of mechanical grip). Modern tyres doing hell lotta job. But yes, these machines are still most demanding for skill. and well, about "no they just don't want to crash them" - I've seen 2022 short video about short session with Delta S4 and 037 where S4 driver just.. destroyed front bumper with foglights by incompetent jump at little speed and ran over it. 037 driver did not turn at same little speed into curve and smashed a hill. I had epic facepalm and anger.
@@Nocxys also.. a good pilot could be noticed even at low speed. Skillfull drivers dont doing those unnecessary tail swinging or tyre burns. But HEY, actually.. we have at least ONE and ONLY great pilot here at this video 5:16 it is Walter Rohrl ! :) and of course he is perfectly precise as always.

Инженеры и гонщики же не дураки, и бюджеты позволяют экспериментировать. 128 лет Ралли всё-таки уже, коллективный опыт богатый. Пришли к оптимальному решению. 6-8 цилиндров закипят при таких условиях, и слишком тяжелы. Развесовка и управляемость намного важнее твоих "жопу рвут и орут и не едут". С твоим подходом все тачки, бы были неуправляемые и дурные из-за избыточной мощности, как тот Мерин 124 в повороты заходит, что жопу вокруг мотора разворачивает.
