@@SnapStrategy the literal first point in the right tree of the steward lifestyle let’s you claim the throne lol it’s quite easy and fast to get to king or emperor

@@totallynotthecia You do know that you don't just GET the throne when you claim it, though, don't you? All the claim throne scheme gets you is a weak claim, which you can use to start a claim war or a claimant faction to overthrow your liege, but you still have to get powerful enough to actually win that war (or be a high intrigue character and kidnap your liege) and powerful enough to keep your new vassals in line, who are often times not so happy with their upstart new ruler with the dubious claim, especially if they are related or allied to the former ruler, who will also be your vassal and absolutely hate you. Also the claim throne scheme only gives you a claim on the lieges main title, not on their domain land. If you try to claim a king's throne as a meager one county vassal, you will often times lose that throne again very quickly. I agree that there are some mechanics to cheese it and that it is easier than it probably should be, but there is a lot more to it than just getting the meritocracy perk and doing a claim throne scheme.

I love looking up the history of random minor people and striking gold. Like that Genius guy in the Seljuk empire who was practically the de-facto ruler, or the old Armenian king who fled to Cilicia, who had a feud with the local bishop. The bishop named his dog "Armin" to humiliate Armenians, so he put the dog and the bishop in a sack and started beating, so that the dog gets agitated and mauled the bishop to death. Of course then the Byzantine government killed him as punishment lol.

Eadgar was also never King of England either. And he never even tried to be. He paid tribute to William in London after he was crowned and recognized him as the rightful King and the the Witenagemot was quickly disbanded by William. Harold Godwinson was a usurper and died a usurper's death for stealing the throne and William's inheritance. Edward the confessor chose William as his legal successor since he was childless and Harold just wanted the throne for himself. The Witenagemot got what it deserved for constantly opposing their rightful King.

He also didn't take his dethronement lying down. He was involved in at least two major attempts to drive out the Normans. He was the figurehead of a massive rebellion in the Northumbria and then he joined up with an invading Danish army in East Anglia. Edgar didn't bring back Anglo-Saxon England, but it wasn't from lack of trying!

@@defan5732 I hear that and in some cases, especially like Richard III of England, I'd agree, but in the case of Harold Godwinson, the facts plainly speak for themselves in my opinion. William wouldn't have invaded Normandy if he didn't have a legit claim on it in that he was indisputably made heir by Edward the confessor. Nowhere is this ever disputed. And it was rather convenient that a man like Harold Godwinson, who had many struggles with Edward the confessor throughout literally his entire reign, including (I believe) not one but two times was forced into exile because of this, it was rather convenient that this same man (Edward the confessor) would have named Harold his successor just before his death considering their very long and extremely turbulent history. I just don't buy that and never will.

Sadly for me,I had a dynasty of 136 people and my heir decided to killed more of ten of my child and grandchildren, he messed up most of my plans that I spend 80 + years on 😢

If Eadgar succeeded Edward, the norwegians would probably win the battle of stamford bridge, since the reason Harold Godwinson won historically was because he had a larger army than Eadgar aetheling whom had no army at all. So we could see england end up in a three way between Harold Godwinson (whom i doubt would take the invasions lying down even if he wasn't king), harald Hardrade and William.

@@SnapStrategy The best way to deal with the murder event is actually to just ignore it from the first time. Hunting down the murderer would just continue the event further.

@@SnapStrategy you also can play with dynasty gideon in ethiopia and not just create a jewish ethiopia you also can go to india and create siddi culture (siddi is a special culture which can be formed by hybridizing indo aryans with east africans) and also there is a special jewish community in india called malabaris so you can make a jewish east african india
